Even if it's real news, I'm sure the ICO will be possible to participate only on a very large sum of money! And ICO will be very fast. Maybe this will be the only closed sale

I don't think it's worth thinking or talking about it untill some official news come out. I hope this is true, but you know how the "news" these days are. Cheesy

Encrypted messaging startup Telegram plans to launch its own blockchain platform and native cryptocurrency, powering payments on its chat app and beyond. According to multiple sources which have spoken to TechCrunch, the “Telegram Open Network” (TON) will be a new, ‘third generation’ blockchain with superior capabilities, after Bitcoin and, later, Ethereum paved the way.......

Please check articles below to know about it.,

I'm happy that Pavel Durov had found a way to monetize his messenger. It was vital for Telegram, because it's hard to develop such a great project without investments. I'll definitely invest in TON, because I trust Durov as well as millions of people.

You really need to ask why Telegram needs either a blockchain or a coin.  Is it just to raise money?  If so whats in it for holders, revenue distribution?  If not then you are just being used to fund exit strategy of their current investors.

3 Billion $ ICO? Jesus, why do they need that much? Don't they have enough resources already? I mean smaller and less experienced teams have accomplished great things in this market with less funds.

Have they fixed their security and cryptographic standards already?

I don't mean to FUD here in fact I'll probably participate to make profits but I'm concerned that ICO become a way for established companies to rise retarded amounts of money to reinvent the wheel, why don't they use and existing blockchain?

This will be the really ICO of the year, but I'm more interested in the question - will the company have a bounty?

Haha, I doubt Telegram will run a bounty campaign if they are going to launch an ICO. It doesn't require much marketing as it is already a well established company and no doubt with many contacts with investors.

It is not confirmed until the founder of Telegram himself comes out with an official announcement. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the rumors turn out to be true, especially since Telegram is very privacy focused. Also, highly likely it will be the biggest ICO of the year if it does indeed happen and is open to the general public.
