Yeah, a real thriller this one. Level of tennis showed by both players was simply unbelievable! Both players showed some ridiculous skill even after 5 hours of play. It's the 5th longest match in history of RG! Altmaier wanted this win so badly he even cried after the match. As to the Italian, I believe he ran out of energy and his muscles started to let him down.

Zverev v Molcan about to finish now, good opportunity for Sascha to end this in three.

When I see games like that I am sometimes a bit jealous that I have never made it to that level of sports. How sweet must that win feel against Sinner? It is what these sportsmen are living for and you don't want to beat Sinner in three sets, you want to beat him in 5 sets in exactly this manner. Hats off to that one and I read that he cried, which is quite a plausible emotion after that match... When he lost the third set 6-1 I guess that must have been tough to thin about the fourth and the remaining chances, but fighting back in another tie break and then breaking Sinner in the fifth like that deserves a lot of credit. This wasn't a bad Sinner losing the game, which it is very often that the favorite plays bad, but this was a win for an strong Altmeier.

Sinner vs. Altmaier. Difficult match for Sinner. Altmaier demands everything from him and could cause a small sensation with a little more power.
Some matches have unexpected results. In many matches the supposedly weaker opponent manages to win at least one set. Or Bautista for example. Lost in 5 sets against Varillas (ATP Rank 94). The odds were not so bad and one should have bet on Varillas early in set 3.
The match was interesting and took more than 5 hours, quite impressed with what was shown by the two players especially Daniel Altmaier, when finally he was able to take the 4th set, and the fifth set became so very wild for both players but Altmaier was able to take this final set even though he had looked nervous so that several match points failed to be completed, this was a very emotional victory for the non-seeded players.
When we see the seeded players being defeated by the non-seeded players through a very tight match, it's a fun thing because the match went very interesting, so this competition does not always have seeded players even though in the end it is still the seed who will become the champion.

This match was easily one of the best I have ever seen in recent times. Sinner was supposed to win this match and was also heavily favoured by a lot of experts. But it was a really hard-fought victory by Altmaier. He took his opponent into deep water. This was a test of temperament and character for both of them.

In the end, it was really great to see Altmaier come away with a win from this match. Even though he was certainly a little nervous, he did not let the nervousness get to him. Unexpected result but these are the type of matches that I am actually happy to be on the wrong end of the prediction.

I made a multi bet on 4 matches and all wins.
Even though the Odds are not too high, 1.94 is decent enough and profitable for me.
I didn't watch all the matches but Tsitsipas did quite well against Carballes Baena.
I saw that match Carballes Baena was unable to balance the game so he lost all 3 matches that took place.

Altmaier with an amazing win over Sinner in five sets and i think nobody expected this loss from Sinner so early. Favorites keep on dropping like flyes. After Medvedev now Sinner is gone and i wonder who will be next. Altmaier goes on Dimitrov now and i think Dimitrov can win this easily because Altmaier is probobly tired from the match against Sinner.

Novak Djokovic  -  Marton Fucsovics

the game will start in a few hours, Marton Fucsovics who currently occupies position number 83 and who recently this year managed to reach position number 31 (unbelievable that he came far but fell), is 31 years old and has a sad history in clashes against Djokovic that's because Marton Fucsovics already played against Djokovic in 4 games and lost in all 4 games, so this would be the 5th game and if he loses again which is more likely to happen then he will undoubtedly be very uncomfortable, meanwhile Djokovic who currently occupies the number 3 position and who already reached number one in 2011 comes to this game more comfortable because he will play against an opponent that he has already beaten 4 times, I think that looking at odds and data Djokovic will win this game

Alcaraz - Taro Daniel

expected victory for Alcaraz, although since the beginning of the game it was expected that Alcaraz would win this game, his opponent did not give up and continued to strive so that he had a chance to change Alcaraz's great favoritism, congratulations to Taro Daniel who lost but fought as well as he could until the end of the game and congratulations to Alcaraz for the victory, waiting to see the result of the next games, the favorites don't seem to be having many difficulties to beat their opponents

Djokovic struggled in the first set but managed to win it and later destroyed Fucsovics in the second set and later on won the match easily. Looks like Djokovic is getting back into form and might even win the whole thing, while Alcaraz won 3-1 and lost one set to Taro Daniel but still managed to go into the next round.
In one of the similar match between Tsitsipas and Carballes Baena the match ended in direct sets. The second set alone looked close reaching the tie breaker. Comfortable win for Tsitsipas 6-3 77-64 6-2 while the players on his category have struggled at some instance. Previously he lost to Medvedev in the Italian Open semifinals. This time once again he hopes for the best to happen.

At odds @10 or more, I'll surely toss some money on Fucsovics against Đoković today.
Đoković seems out of focus, Fucsovics is a decent player and the odds are simply too good not to give this a try.

I expect Đoković to win, of course - but I doubt it will be as easy as the bookies expect.
Might as well go for those high odds against the heavily sided favorites since what everyone witnessed with Medvedev and Thiago Seyboth Wild.
Think they mentioned he was a 172nd ranked player and Danill was 2nd seed.
https://www.atptour.com/en/news/medvedev-seyboth-wild-roland-garros-2023-tuesday
That is a huge disparity between ATP rankings to have even been questioned.
https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2023/05/30/daniil-medvedev-french-open-roland-garros/

Anyone else catch the Gaël Monfils vs Sebastian Baez match last night? It was the very last one of the day which lasted nearly 4 hours.
https://www.rolandgarros.com/en-us/article/rg2023-monfils-baez-first-round-report

Many were saying when he was down 1-4 in the final set he would be announcing his retirement from tennis, Due to him being 36 years old and at this age your joints, knees and leg muscles are well worn out especially playing on clay courts.
Just look at Nadal who did not appear at this tournament due to a reoccurring injury to his abdomen last year but now I think he is having problems with his hip since the Australian Open.

I have "closed" my bet on Baez since he was at 1.01 on 5th set (score 4-0  - Monfils to serve).
In that time the french player odd...was at 50-60! He realize an impressive win, a talented player that is actually able to compete at higher level against younger players. I am not sure if he will be able to continue his journey in RG but it's always a pleasure see this player playing tennis Wink

About Fognini, well probably he is now "a mature player" and maybe he is able to not get completely crazy for nothing.
I'm glad to see him at this point in the tournament Smiley probably he deserve also a bet on the next match against Ofner.... Roll Eyes

Medvedev lost was really a surprise and congratulations to those who bet against him.

Fognini ATP rank 130_ I noticed him again after a long time in the match against Struff in Miami. Now that he has won in Paris against AAF (okay, AAF was injured, but anyway) and he has also won against Kubler. Now he will play his next match against the Austrian Ofner who surprisingly beat Korda. Fognini seems to be picking up steam at the age of 36.
Medvedev loosing on clay is not surprising. I mean this is his 7th appearance in RG and fifth time he lost in first round. This is not surprise this is actually expected of him  Grin
Must admit that he was looking good for his standards on clay recently and I expected he will have a bit better success this year.

Fognini was always a super talented player but mentally all over the place. Clay is his favorite surface and older he gets he gets more stable. Yes he is missing a lot of the flair he had couple of years ago but I wouldn't bet against in this RG. Better to just watch his matches.

With time to contemplate this after 24 hours I suppose you are right about Medvedev,
what added to the shock/surprise/news was the way he lost to this unknown guy.

Of which Seyboth Wild, he plays again tomorrow as the favourite against Pella, it
will be interesting to see if he can back up his win...

On Fognini, he is an interesting character, frustrating to watch sometimes and
very talented, but yea the mental side was lacking

Thats a big disappointment with Medvedev.
Didn't continue to watch this match after he was able to take two sets, it's a shame it looks like he will still be a special hardcourt and the Rome Open will be his best clay title, and this defeat adds to the length of his bad statistics at the French Open which can only last a few rounds and this time immediately lost the first round.

Similar game happened with the women's singles match. It was the match between Kalinina and Parry. Kalinina last match was the finals against Rybakina in the Italian Open. Here she have lost the match in the very first round 2-6 3-6. Maybe this isn't a big disappointment, still a loss after the finals is something bad. Earlier she defeated Kudermetova in the semifinals and Haddad Maia in the quarter finals.
Could it be that she hasn't fully recovered yet? because her defeat by Rybakina in the Italy Open final was because she withdrew in the second set due to an injury she had, it's a shame but I suspect it's because she hasn't fully recovered yet.

Getting free bets from sportsbet I think it will be very interesting to use it to bet on several matches yesterday and it's bad that Kecmanovic, after winning two sets, actually lost the next three sets, the last three sets had to go through tiebreaks and he lost the 3 tie breaks that occurred

I watched Medvedev match for 15 minutes and placed a bet on Wild @ 4.85 odds.

It's amazing how big Medvedev's drop in quality is when nothing goes his way. If he just stayed calm, he'd have won eventually - but it's always the same with him.
He started well on clay this year and then fell apart in the most important tournament.

I expected so much more from him a few years ago. Nowadays I just try to place some high odds bets against him.
Thats an awesome bet and a big win. Not everyone have got the courage to go at these high odds when the player involved is on the top line.

From the scoring pattern, it looks like he's out of control from the very beginning. The first two sets reaching the tie breaker itself shows how good Seyboth Wild have
played against Medvedev. The efforts in the first two sets would've made Medvedev tiresome to play in the consecutive sets 76-65 66-78 2-6 6-3 6-4.

Based on the he plays, there are more chances of winning bets against him if watched closer.

Well nobody expected that Medvedev would lose in the first round of a huge grand slam even tho its on clay. Seyboth Wild played an amazing match and even tho Medvedev won a tournament on clay he still is terrible on that surfice and still needs to work on his gameplay on clay.

Unbelievable result from this guy Seyboth Wild, and actually an unbelievable result
from Medvedev, its a massive turnaround from such good results this year on clay.

Great bet cryptofrka on this new guy, lovely payout @ 4.85.

My only bet today which landed was on Ruud under 28.5

For tomorrows bets I'm doing 2 straight bets: Musetti to beat Shevchenko @ 1.27
and Norrie to beat Pouille @ 1.26
