It is actually sad to see all the players of a generation getting old and retiring almost at the same period of time. It was certainly a great win from Novak Djokovic. Obviously, it could have been a final between Djokovic vs Nadal. That could have made things really memorable for the fans. The final was actually not that bad. Of course, it was a little one sided. But I think we all kind of expected this outcome. Congratulations to Djokovic.
Djokovic has become the tennis player with the most Grand Slam titles and surpassed his rival Nadal.
I can already judge that Djokovic is indeed the greatest tennis player of all time and is the only penis who has made history with the most titles than any other tennis player.

If it becomes a final between Djokovic vs Nadal I still believe Djokovic will come out as the champion even though he is quite old but his game performance remains the same not decreasing one bit.

Djokovic is a guy who values records highly and he has this one to himself without a doubt. He will probably keep it as it is not very likely that any one in the near future will reach 23 titles and that number only stands until he wins another one. But one sentence he said in an interview was interesting. He said

"It is no coincidence winning my 23rd Grand Slam here in Paris. This tournament has always been the hardest for me to win, so I am very emotional right now."

I was thinking about this statement and thought that this could be shots fired against Nadal maybe? Perhaps my assumption is wrong, but I believe there could be some truth to it. But Nadal's record of winning the Grand Slam in RG 14 times can only be broken if human beings life expectancy will increase! Cheesy There are players who aren't even on the tour for 14 years and he wins the GS title 14 times...

Lorenzo sonego vs Berretini game was one sided for sonego he won easily 2 0 with scores of 6 1 and 6 2 berretini is performing poorly since the beginning of this year unfortunatly for him sonego is on fire recently, the stuttgart tournament is just beginning i think tsitsipas might be the favourite but there are some names to look out for and one of them is sonego.

This was a great performance from Novak Djokovic. In the first set, it was really close. I also thought that the match was going to be very close considering that the first set was so close between these two. But in the next two sets, Novak, Djokovic performed really well, and his opponent did not get much of a chance to do anything. Novak Djokovic was better in this game by far. Ruud had a good performance in the first set. But after that in the second set, he wasn’t able to do anything. In the third set, she did show a little bit off, but that did not win in favor of him.
Yea that result was kind of expected, my $1 bet on Ruud was a waste really, Djokovic got
the job done in 3 sets and yea Ruud was able to trouble him a bit in the first and third sets
but not enough to overcome him. That seems like an easy day in the office for Djokovic, it
could have been a 5 setter but he made sure it wasnt going to go that far.
So thats #23 grand slams and I dont think anyone is going to catch him!

Well even if anyone is going to catch him it is going to be a really hard job. But personally, I think it is going to take a huge time to be achieved if it is even achieved by anyone. Djokovic is a great player. It is actually sad that he is also getting pretty close to the end of his career. He is already 36 years old. He will probably not be able to perform like this for a long period of time anymore. We should enjoy it while it lasts because it is not going to last forever.

I never doubted Djokovic not even for a second because I know him way to well now and I have seen this multiple times that whenever he’s pushed into a corner he pushed back hard and that’s what makes him special. Furthermore with Nadal missing I’m very happy that it was Djokovic who won otherwise it could have been Nadal had he been fit and we would have witnessed another great finale between these two.

Deserved title for Đoković, irrespective of his semi-final walkover against Alcaraz.

He was on top of his game today again and played some amazing points. He was parrying well agains Alcaraz too - he might have won that match even if Alcaraz remained fully fit.

Hat off to the guy - he'd be on 25 GS titles if there were no stupid COVID rules.
The classic routine of matches where such young talents are defeated against Djokovic is repeated. The opponent starts the game well, breaks the serve and sometimes takes one or even two sets. Then djokovic usually wins a prolonged game or tie break is made. Djokovic wins, then there is a break, it is theoretically clear that djokovic will win the match. All that remains is for djokovic to put it into practice. Meanwhile, his opponent sometimes produces quality winners, gets very good points and all, but he also understands that the match is now over. That's exactly what ruud plays, the match was over with the first set. This man is 36 years old. 36. No, 20-year-olds can't stand against him. The 36-year-old is running the 23rd slam, it really seem mind-blowing. And as you have mentioned it could have been 25.

Djokovic is again the favorite on the grass in Wimbledon, but I have the feeling that it might be a bit closer there because there will be a number of service guns involved that could make it difficult for Djokovic. But last year the odds for Djokovic were around 1.90, so that will probably be the case again. And how serious would it be at Alcaraz? He won't be able to step onto the tennis court right away, if it's an injury then Wimbledon might come very early because that's already next month. Players don't get much time to prepare if you look at it that way.
History History History - Novak Djokovic wins his 23 grand slam and cements himself as the one true grand slam king.
Congrats to the king and all his fans.

A bit disappointing final to be frank. An easy win for Djokovic in 3 sets. Ruud stood no chance against the Serb today. Nole's chances of winning all four Grand Slams in a year have increased significantly. Wimbledon and US Open suit his playing style much better than RG so he will be even harder to stop. Let's wait and see this is going to be interesting.  Cool

what a victory for Djokovic.
simply devastating and able to write pages of unique history in this sport... I am sorry for Alcaraz (I hope he will solve this issue related health condition) but for sure he has a top place already guaranteed really hard to loss.

I saw Alcaraz as the absolute favorite to win this tournament. His injury actually came out of nowhere in this match, didn't it? I didn't read that he already had an injury. So it seems to be pure bad luck, or maybe it has something to do with his footwear? There are rumors that he hasn't maintained a proper eating schedule since recovering from his injury and was dehydrated as a result, which could lead to cramps. Maybe he could have prevented this, if it was really a cramp, what it looked like because he couldn't walk properly anymore. In the event of a serious injury, you immediately stop fighting.

Djokovic won today with a 3 0 score against Ruud in the final, the first set was the most tight one and Ruud had the uperhand early but he wasn't able to win and djokovic pulled up one of his comebacks, it was an expected final result Ruud was not in his peak shape this year if he was he might've been able to win a set or two either way congrats for djokovic i think this season he might be able to win all grandslams with this level of performance.

In the first set, Djokovic had a hard time with Ruud, but that could also have to do with the extremely hot weather today. When Djokovic started to get into his game and rhythm, it was no longer a competition for Djokovic. A well-deserved victory, and even though the difference in the world ranking was small (Ruud is number 4 in the world after all), the difference in level was big today. You really can't stop Djokovic if Alcaraz is injured. I think that is the only one that can stop Djokovic at the moment, but Djokovic is even better on grass.

A seemingly simple victory for Djokovic, but if you look at the score, it wasn't that easy in the first set. Ruud took off like a rocket, but forgot to strike at the crucial moments and Djokovic now has his 23rd Grand Slam title. it is a pity that many supporters judge him on the basis of his attitude to the Corona policy, but he also has himself to thank for that. Purely as a tennis enthusiast it was a pleasure to watch him, but the match against Alcaraz was not a great moment due to the injury of the Spaniard.

I think we can officially say now that Novak Djokovic is the best tennis player of all time. He has better head to head with his biggest rivals. Most of the weeks as no1 and the most grand slams. The records keep on braking and the hardest match was against Alcaraz and that was easy for him aswell. He is also the main favorite by far on Wimbledon aswell and 24 GS titles are around the corner aswell.

I don't think Ruud is impressed at all, but the one chance he had during the 1st set was defended so well by Djokovic that it often breaks the will power of Djokovic's opponents right away. It is again another impressive and dominant game and I have to say after I saw the first set against Alcaraz I didn't see any chance for Ruud now. Even the 2nd set that Djokovic lost against Alcaraz was so strong that I couldn't imagine how Alcaraz would keep that level required to beat Djokovic for 3 sets. I now wonder how many more GS titles Djokovic is going to win.
We could guess that it was going to be Djokovic's game, but we expected Ruud to put up a fight and at least make things very difficult for Djokovic. Today is a great day for Djokovic and a big achievement for him and his team,  he has now surpassed Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Nadal still has sometime to play tennis when he fully recovers and may win another GS, but with Djokovic's injury challenges not as serious as Nadal's own currently that may make him consider an early retirement and not like Federer's own that put him into retirement, he may still win some more GS to make his record difficult to equal before he finally retires for the younger players to continue.

It is difficult to imagine that Nadal can really recover in so far as to again be able to win a GS title. Even in RG he would have to beat Alcaraz or Djokovic and the level that Djokovic played or that Alcaraz played in the 2nd set was so strong that it would really need the best Nadal ever. He now had an arthroscopy on his hip as well. I didn't even know his hip injured. I somehow missed that, but what isn't even injured on his body? As much as I would like to see him return to the tour and play some great tennis, my hope is dwindling.
