Zverev won the match against Etcheverry. But it was a great performance from Etcheverry and he was really strong. Many people did not think that Zverev would get so far. After a mixed performance in the last few tournaments, he seems to have found his old form again in Paris.
Now he will play against Rude or Rune in the semi-finals.

Ruud is going strong, he has bagged the first set 1-6 and serving for the second 2-5.

Its great for him and great to get revenge from their last meeting, Ruud is a very intelligent
player. Will he be able though to beat Djokovic....if he beats Rune?

On the WTA side, bit of an interesting win by Haddad Maia over Jabeur, she now plays
Swiatek in one of the semi finals. Muchova plays Sabalenka in the other but
its kind of looking like a Sabalenka v Swiatek final. Its only now really that I start
following the WTA side.

Watching Alcaraz v Tsitsipas atm. Well, what can I say: Carlitos has entered some sort of god mode today. Opening set taken easily 6:2. If you haven't made your bet on this match, place it now!  Cool

Alcaraz destroyed Tsitsipas in straight sets and this was just a one way street. Alcaraz really looks good and has one of the biggest chances to win this title . Cant wait to see him battle Djokovic in the semi final and i think it wont be easy for Alcaraz at all due to how big the experience of Djokovic is. Djokovic also has a perfect chance to get that 23rd grand slam title.

Beautiful match as was to be expected. Alcaraz's prediction of victory has been confirmed (now he has reached 5-0 against tsitsipas). in the third set it seemed that a small comeback was possible (at least winning the set) but in the end, he still managed to confirm his performance.
Tsitsipas spoke at the end of the match of a problem with some sleeping pill - Melatonin... that made him sleepy in the first two sets.... Roll Eyes

We are approaching the semifinals, Alcaraz vs Djokovic will be an epic match!

Did anyone catch the discussion about Zverev's diabetes? He has to inject himself with insulin regularly. On the ATP Tour he does it on the court and nobody minds. In Paris, however, he was banned from doing so. He should please leave the court for it because it looks like something weird. He talked about it in an interview and now Paris has said he can take the injection on the court.

A lot of people are having difficulties because of diabetes. I don't think it should be any problem anywhere for anyone to actually inject themselves with insulin in case of having diabetes. And when it comes to professional athletes there should not be any exception just because it looks weird.

Diabetes is a big problem for the whole world right now. I believe people are actually going to be motivated to cure diabetes and also try to prevent it as well. People are also going to try to lead a healthy lifestyle. Those who have diabetes are not going to shy away from injecting insulin and those who do not have diabetes are going to try to stay away from it.

Tsitsi worth 5/1 you think?
Nah, not really. I think he's playing really good so far, but Alcaraz is playing better.
I would bet on Tsitsipas at this stage of a GS

No surprises there, in the end, and I left the match just minutes before Kachanov actually did win the first set. Would have banked some money if I had just a few minutes to spare, but anyway, glad I stuck to my guns of ditching Tsitsi, still get tempted every now and then but I think his sun has crashed maybe for good.

Alcaraz will destroy Đoković. I will go with the biggest possible handicap the bookies are willing to offer.

I'm continuing with my bets on outsiders, today I'm going with Etcheverry to win against Zverev.
I have Zverev in BSFL and I do believe he's the favorite, but a much smaller one than the odds show.

Now you're talking my language! I put him in the same bracket as Medvedev -- not in talent, but in their ability to seemingly give up good positions often.

Re Alcaraz, haven't had the pleasure of watching him play recently, but if Djokovic plays anywhere near the problematic phase of yesterday's first set, I don't doubt a slaughter.

That said, I like Djokovic as the outsider, so I'm going the opposite direction from you, but waiting for markets to offer -handicap -- maybe not the max but I'd like to bump the odds to 4/1 min.

Ah damn, I see from my previous post that my predictive text left out the 'nt from would.

Tsitsipas needs to ditch his family from the coaching team, I seriously think they
are more of a hinderance than a help at this stage.

I know you buwaytress like myself and others have been let down by his performances
in the past so at this stage of a GS its way too risky to bet on him especially against to top guys.

Djokovic v Alcaraz, I recon there is massive pressure on Djokovic to get past Alcaraz,
on to the final and win GS #23, I might see can a handicap be picked up

Rune vs Rudd: No predictions possible. Maybe Rune has small disadvantages because he had to play over 5 sets against Cerundolo and lost set 4 quite easily.

Zverev vs Etcheverry: Zverev is the favourite here and I see him in the semi-finals.

So far it looks like this will be the case. The Spaniard seems determined and driven to win his first RG. I guess his coach team are trying to make him believe he's the next Rafa and he has to win it this year to try to break Rafa's RG career record of 14 titles!

As to Etcheverry, I'm really doubtful this 23 yo Argentinian underdog will manage to beat the German. Zverev is maybe not in his top form but he's good enough to beat world's nr 46. Zverev has showed us so far he's experiencing issues after the injury to compete with top 10 guys but Etcheverry should be an easy victim.

Haven’t watched any tennis yet as I am too busy with work but that would be an interesting match. I think the bookmakers will put Djokovic as favorite given his status but this could go also to Alcaraz. Might be some value in over x total games as I think it will be a 4 or even a 5 setter.

Watched a bit of Novak's match and after dropping the first set it was all one-way traffic from there for Djokovic.
And he is looking in form same with Alcaraz as he won a clean match against Tsitsipas.

Sabalenka won her match and was waiting at the net to do the courtesy of shaking your opponent's hand, did not get this gesture of sportsmanship from Svitolina but as the Ukrainian had said countless times before she would not be doing that towards any of those players from those countries attacking hers. In the interview after the match she explained it to the reporters who asked and said Aryna must have not been on social media in her making such a statement for these beliefs.

Nah, not really. I think he's playing really good so far, but Alcaraz is playing better.
If I win the Khachanov bet, I'll place some of the winnings on Tsitsi - but I feel it's going to be one-sided.

The odds do have value though.

Alcaraz is going strong, has the first set secured and a break already in the second,
as serveria.com says above.

I would bet on Tsitsipas at this stage of a GS even with very nice odds and against
Alcaraz who seems to be on top performance.

I wonder if he has an added goal of preventing Djokovic from getting a set above his
countryman Nadal?

I'm doing really well on RG this season, so I have some budget available for crazy stuff Grin
I'll go with Khachanov today, the odds are almost 8 and Đoković does look solid, but not nearly as good as he used to.

Khachanov can make this difficult for Novak and the odds make sense to give it a try.

On a more serious ticket I'll go with +6,5 on Tsitsipas vs Alcaraz.

I read your post here and watched some of the match and thought that this one could end well for you. Khachanov played an incredible 1st set and what I liked a lot about his game is that when he gave away chances, he still kept going afterwards and won the points and the games. But I also thought that this could be one of those games where Djokovic is looking weak in the 1st set and then wins the game more or less easily towards the end. I don't know if the 1st set went that way because Khachanov was so strong or Djokovic temporarily weak. That's a question that is often difficult to answer. I am curious how far Zverev is going to make it.

nice match tonight between Alcaraz and Tsitsipas.
In all the previous clashes, the Spaniard has always won (4-0). today he is obviously quoted by bookmakers as a super favorite with odds ranging from @1.18 to @1.25.
what do you think? Will the Spaniard's drop shots secure a win for him?
https://youtu.be/0IIoSOBABc4
This is a very interesting match and in the future because they are pretty good tennis players and even have the same championship title which is quite satisfying.
But it seems that in this match it is Alcaraz who is being favored, I get Odds 1.21 for Alcaraz to win.
Hopefully he can give the best for us who support him.
But it is also possible for Tsitsipas to be able to beat Alcaraz because he sometimes gives unexpected surprise wins.

@cryptofrka yeah? I shoulda seen that, didn't know it was that low (odds are only 26/10 now boo) but phew what a match so far, actually quite lucky I managed to watch most of the early bits before needing to tune out now to focus on... real life haha.

But dang, Kachanov. Backhands were over 10% faster than Djoker's fores... didn't like how he kept backing up to receive serves but it seemed to work out for a long time... and then as usual Novak redirecting and squeezing the energy out of his opponent while fending off set points. Wish he'd have just lost though, so I could put a live bet at good odds.

Tsitsi worth 5/1 you think?
