About Murray, probably yes he is too old, but bear in mind he has also a full titanium hip, so it's not an easy stuff.
Most of tennis players at high levels seems to suffer about bad injury like Alcaraz, even if he is 19 years old he is suffering a lot of issues...
Well Andy Murray has a tough first match at Monte Carlo, he plays Alex de Minaur!
and thats tomorrow.
I'm not sure which surface de Minaur favours but to me he poses a big hurdle for Murray,
and there was me thinking Murray could get to the final...
I dont think I will bet on that, maybe for Andy to win a set, but which one?
How long would Murry continue to play tennis at this level? I never found him athletic, not even before. But now he stumbles across the track, when you see him walking it looks like he could fall down at any moment. Last year he played some great games for himself. But players he used to beat without problems are already causing the biggest problems. It is now someone who plays tennis purely for pleasure it seems.
It is my theory that Murray's tennis since he had the hip replacement is based
on skill, whats lacking is the higher levels of mobility and speed, that is what is
his weakness. Also throw into the mix is his age.
Today he was easily beaten by de Minaur 6-1 & 6-3. I said it last year and I'll say it again -
I think its coming very close to retirement for Andy.
