Thats an upset for Tsitsipas to bow out so early in the competition.

Medvedev came through his match with Nakashima in 2 sets, Sinner is looking ok
and has taken the first set against Gasquet. Felix AA is currently playing Martinez,
Rublev won earlier against Lehecka, these IMO are most likely to trouble Medvedev
who himself has to be the favourite.

In the WTA im not betting but I'm keeping an eye on Raducanu who is playing now
against Linette.

Also keeping an eye on both Swiatek and Krejčíková given the recent win by her over
Swiatek in Dubai. They are on the opposits sides of the deaw here - interesting

Medvedev is going to play against Ivashka in the next match which I believe is going to be a little easier for Medvedev. I do not believe that he is going to face too many problems in this match. But he will certainly have a better opponent going forward in the competition.

Not following the WTA currently. So not going to say anything about that. Generally does not interest me too much, to be honest.

Stan Wawrinka - Holger Rune
Stan Wawrinka comes into this game while occupying the number 100 position in the ATP ranking, although he is in this position, in 2014 he managed to reach 3 position, but since 2017 he has not been able to achieve great achievements and this could be due to injuries that he has had, he comes from a victory against Miomir Kecmanovic. on the other hand, his opponent Holger Rune, who takes him to position number 8, comes to this game very motivated, in his last game he won. in my opinion, Holger Rune is a younger athlete compared to Stan Wawrinka, the Stan Wawrinka who has been injured, and is 37 years old, no longer has the same performance he had when he was younger and will be facing a 19-year-old opponent with much talent. for me the Holger Rune won the game

Rune has lots of advantages over Wawrinka. Rune is a lot younger and also a lot more higher-ranked player compared to his opponent. Rune has everything going for him in this match. After all, a 37-year-old cannot match the stamina of a 19-year-old. For me as well, Rune is going to be the winner of this match.

Andrey Rublev - Ugo Humbert
Andrey Rublev comes to this game occupying the number 7 position, but he has already reached a better position when in 2019 he managed to reach the number 5 position in the world, in his last game he beat Jiri Lehecka, on the other side his opponent Ugo Humbert who currently occupies the number 77 position and the best position he reached was in 2021 when he reached the number 25 position, last year he had a very bad performance, he also comes to this game with a victory. for this game i believe that Andrey Rublev will win this game, in my opinion he is more skillful than his opponent
.

It is live now, very enjoyable match,, Rublev should be the winner of this match. Unless of course he gets distracted by some spectators talking shit or waving the Ukrainian flag. Unless any of these happens, I believe he is going to win. Rublev has a lot more achievement in his career compared to Humbert as well

I would assume that at his level he also has access to the best doctors out there. A hamstring injury can take some time, but it obviously depends on how severe it actually was. If it was a minor damage in the hamstring, a young and fit guy like him is likely to recover very quickly. It shouldn't be too big of a deal. Though he should avoid at all cost to let an injury become a chronic problem, but it's not that likely for a muscular issue to turn chronic. Now in Nadal's case if I remember correctly we have seen a couple of times that he had problems in the abdominal zone, but you can usually analyze that very precisely through NMRI examinations.

What I fear is that sometimes players take these types of injuries lightly. And that turns out to be a big mistake for them. So I do not think that they are going to take an injury like the hamstring lightly. The hamstring is a muscle that needs to be very strong and 100% for any athlete. If any athlete in any sport does not take care of his hamstring properly, he is going to get injured again soon. So I am actually going to support Alcaraz in taking as much time as he needs to recover instead of rushing things.

Rafael Nadal is already quite old. He has had an incredible career. At this stage of his life, there are going to be some certain problems that are going to be unavoidable. And he is also going to need more time compared to younger players to recover.

Duke

Yes but as with every injure there is a wide range of different degrees of the injury. There are, however, players who by nature are more prone to muscular injuries than others. In soccer I could mention Arjen Robben when he played for Bayern Munich. A highly professional player but he was injured so often and nobody understood why. It is genetics.

In tennis it was del Potro who could have had a way more successful career than he had anyway. But injuries were too big of a burden to him.

Nadal was taken care of very well and his style is also very taxing on anything like the muscles, the tendons, the ligaments. The joints in general. Djokovic has a lighter style, he isn't going too hard with his joints. All of that also plays a role in regards to how healthy they can stay throughout their career.

And sometimes it really is just genetics when a player doesn't even live the healthiest lifestyle possible and is never injured anyway.

Nadal has meant a lot to the sport and many children see / saw him as the great idol. Especially in Spain, of course, since not many players have reached the world top in recent years, apart from Nadal. Not even on gravel. Now you have Alcaraz, but the supply before that was very minimal. A pity for a great tennis country like Spain. but it seems that Alcaraz will take over from Nadal, as he is increasingly dealing with injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires soon, but I suspect he wants to do it in style and so if he wants to aim all arrows at the Grans Slam tournament in Paris, and if he won that then put an end to his impressive career.

Rublev is now a regular top 10 player, but he often misses points so that he unfortunately cannot make the jump to the real absolute world top. I had thought that he could attack the best players in the world, like Djokovic and Nadal, but he is still a long way from that. I think Djokovic also knocked him off the track at the Australian open without a chance. But he's still quite young, so every chance. It is a pity for van Rijthoven that after his tournament victory last year in the Netherlands and his quarterfinals in Wimbledon, he has not performed at all. I had expected more from this boy, but unfortunately it has been a one-hit wonder.

It's a no-brainer, I fully agree and I bet the same: Rublev and Rune! Easy money guys!

Meanwhile, on WTA tour: Teichmann v Peterson going on atm and my bet was on the Swiss. She won the first set 6:3 and has a good chance to win and advance to R4.

I have a bet on Rublev, he shouldnt have any trouble judging on his form, imagine
another Rublev v Medvedev final!

Wawrinka v Rune - tough one for Stan

Raducanu has a tough one next against the 13th seed Haddad Maia.

Re: Swiatek and Krejčíková they are getting ever so close to playing each other.

I'm also keeping an eye on Leylah who has a tough match coming up against Garcia.

I would really like to see both Raducanu and Fernandez getting closer to winning
some tournaments soon.

Good match between Jordan Thompson and Tsitsipas. The first set won by Thompson on a tie breaker 77 60. Tsitsipas have won the second set 6-4 and the same have made the third set more interesting. This is going to be a win for Tsitsipas, but Jordan Thompson have given a tough fight.
It was not what was expected to see Tsitsipas who is the second seed in this tournament have to go out early, the third set was a very close match but Tompson managed to beat him.

Murray vs Draper, after an easy win over Albot then the match against his compatriot will not be easy for him, several times Murray had to go through long matches and Draper had the opportunity to beat him but sometimes Murray's experience allowed him to get out of difficult situations several times and win the match but times will be a little different.

Alcaraz has an amazing incentive to play his best tennis as he can take the no. 1 in the ATP ranking from Djokovic again if he wins the Indian Wells tournament. The only problem he is carrying around with him is the threat of his injury to come back again. I hope that's not the case as his young age as it would be sad to see such a great talent being set back over and over again by physical problems.

He has everything it needs to dominate the tennis world for a long period of time. It is also fun to watch his games as he has the perfect fighting spirit for every single ball he is playing. He doesn't give up a single shot from his opponent. It is fun to watch because you can see the despair in the eyes of his opponents and especially when they start shaking their heads after another impossible return from Alcaraz! Cheesy

Alcaraz should be able to win this match against Kokkinakis quite easily. He should not even break a sweat. But I am a little worried about his injury situation. He is very young. He has a lot of time to go into his career. So he will have to be a little careful.

I know he has the youngness in him right now. That's why he is going to want to try things that generally an older player will not. What I am trying to say is he should not get carried away because of his youth. He should be very careful about his health because health is all that matters for any player in long term.

Bautista Agut have got defeated on the direct set against Ruusuvuori 66-77 2-6.

The match between Jordan Thompson and Tsitsipas was really close. The match was not one sided at all. And actually, Jordan Thompson was the one who won the match. Incredible mind game between both of them. But in the end, Jordan Thompson is the one prevailing. Tsitsipas made very few mistakes that cost him the match in the end.

Agut did not play well in the match. I believe he could have done better. In the first set, he actually did show a little resistance. But in the second set, it was all Ruusuvuori.

Swiatek in Dubai. They are on the opposits sides of the deaw here - interesting

Relatively easy wins for both Raducanu and Swiatek and both advance further. As to Rybakina, my bet was a winner but it was a surprisingly tough encounter for Elena against Kenin 7:6, 7:6. Let's see how a Noskova v Gauff match will play out, I agree that it won't be an easy ride for the Czech.

Kvitova v Ostapenko is another promising match, a duel of two big hitters. Jelena is in great shape (figuratively speaking haha) whereas Petra has lots of experience and is known to be a very mood-driven player (a nightmare for us betting geeks). Can't wait to watch this match!

Tomorrow R2 and I'd like to point out two great matches: Gauff vs Noskova and Rybakina vs Kenin. My bets will be on Noskova and Rybakina as they are arguably in better form now. Kenin hasn't showed any great performance this year (and last one too to be honest) so Rybakina will be a strong favorite. The other match is not so obvious, Gauff can show her best tennis in front of the home crowd, but my bet will still be on the Czech.  Cool
I agree Noskova is in form and I made several bets on her recently, but I am not backing her to win against Gauff. Gauff is one of the best hitters on tour and she can win against anybody even when playing a little below her maximum. And you can't say she is bad form she has 12/3 this season on hard while Noskova has only 8/2. And Gauff only played top tournaments while I am to lazy to actually check for Noskova where her wins came from.

Good point Daniel91 - things could change between now and the US Open.

Here in Europe there are currently no COVID-19 travel restrictions in place, I think the US
are probably one of very few countries with restrictions in place.

It's actually strange to me that the USA still hasn't lifted travel restrictions due to Cocid 19 and it's obviously political and not health reasons.
However, there is no longer an obligation to test for Covid 19, so there is a good chance that all remaining travel restrictions will soon be lifted.
Djokovic surely regrets not being able to play at his favorite American tournament, Indian Wells, but for him personally it is much more important to play at the GS in America in August because of his race with Nadal for the greatest tennis player of all time.
In America, there is already great pressure from the public, through the tennis association, the media and prominent politicians, to make an exception to the rule for Đoković and that he can still perform at the US Open. I'd say the chances, if I had to bet, are 20-30% for now.

WTA tour results overview:

Player to watch out for - Czech girl Linda Noskova. Today whe won the American Amanda Anisimova in straight sets 7:6, 6:3. I watched the match and both girls looked kind of tired? (perhaps because of the late match). Noskova showed more consistency and managed to overcome her more experienced seeded opponent. All other matches - favorites like Sakkari, Gauff, Pegula, Pliskova managed to defeat their opponents and advance to the next round.

Tomorrow R2 and I'd like to point out two great matches: Gauff vs Noskova and Rybakina vs Kenin. My bets will be on Noskova and Rybakina as they are arguably in better form now. Alcaraz recent encounters were with Cameron Norrie. In the Argentina open Alcaraz won the title with the direct set wins. In the Rio Open Norrie won the title with the first set won by Alcaraz and later Norrie made a comeback and won the title. This time will the two meet at any point.

As said Alcaraz is very young and he had got more to go. At this age the young mind never cares about the health, it always gives the motivation and keeps himself ready to play at any condition. Such state of mind need to change for a long term tennis career.

But that state of mind is difficult to change when a player is so young, right?

It's basically light when you are young, you want to win everything and every championship in the world. But when you are old like into the early 30s, you want to just keep playing for the paycheck because at 30 or 35 you are past it.

It's very hard for young people to avoid the glory and fame that comes with success. But after you realize these things probably have less. Meaning than you thought it was going to have, you start questioning choosing your career over your health.

Diego Schwartzman - Casper Ruud

Diego Schwartzman comes into this game when he occupies the 38th place in the ATP ranking, Diego Schwartzman has been going through a bad start to the season since the beginning of his career, he only managed to win only one game in the whole year, the opponent he won was ranking 168 in the world. honestly I see that his performance situation is extremely serious, but not everything was bad for him, this week he beat Federico Coria, but his opponent Casper Ruud, currently occupies the number 4 position and last year he even managed reaching the number 2 position, unfortunately after having a good performance last year Casper Ruud has not had a good performance this year having had a bad performance even when playing against opponents with a very low ranking. my guess is that Casper Ruud will be able to win this game, he may even be going through a bad phase this year but Diego Schwartzman is much worse than him, so I see Casper Ruud winning this game

Jordan Thompson - Stefanos Tsitsipas

Jordan Thompson comes into this game occupying position number 87, but he was already in a better position in 2019 when he reached position 48 in the world, in the ATP Masters 1000 game in Indian Wells he easily beat Gael Monfils, but will play against Stefanos Tsitsipas who comes into this game occupying the number 3 position, Tsitsipas has been performing better in tournaments like this, so my guess is that Tsitsipas will win this game

Andrey Rublev - Jiri Lehecka

Andrey Rublev comes to this game occupying the number 7 position, having already reached a better position in 2019 when he managed to reach the number 5 position, he had a good performance recently in the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai. his opponent Jiri Lehecka comes to this game occupying the number 47 position and still hasn't won anything relevant during his career, I think rublev will come out victorious in this game, he already beats Jiri Lehecka in the ATP 250 tournament in Doha, so I believe he will beat Jiri Lehecka again

Daniil Medvedev - Brandon Nakashima

Daniil Medvedev comes to this game occupying the number 6 position, but he is already in a good position in 2022 when he comes from occupying the number 1 position, he is one of the big favorites to win the ATP Masters 1000 in Indian Wells. his opponent Brandon Nakashima comes to this game occupying position number 48, there is not much to comment on this game, in my opinion Medvedev will win this game

All favorites should win their matches easily. Medvedev and Rublev might have small troubles but i think this should be a parlay with all 4 favorites to win. Schwartzman to me is out of form plus playing on hard court and i think he dosent stand a chance against Ruud.
