Seeing Carlos Alcaraz still struggling to win the title after winning Wimbledon is quite surprising, it seems there must be an improvement in his performance, maybe he feels he is already too good? So there was a kind of stagnation in his performance after his surprise defeat of Djokovic.
I once saw Andy Roddick say that Alcaraz's serve was one of his shots that didn't improve at all, it seems like this should be a cause for concern. Carlos Alcaraz is unlikely to change the coaching team so he will remain with Juan Carlos Ferrero.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner managed to appear consistent after getting AO, in the final against De Minaur, I predict this will be Sinner's next title, and Djokovic's biggest competitor turned into Sinner and Alcaraz came in second.

And Swiatek successfully defended her title in Doha, which is a good achievement because in the women's section, it is rare to be able to defend the title, Rybakina actually played well, but she failed to complete many important points, and in Dubai, it will be even more interesting because Aryna Sabalenka will compete.

Yeah, Alcaraz losing in the semi was a huge surprise (also for bookies I guess). All in all, Carlitos doesn't look that hungry anymore, has he achieved all his life goals already? Money, fame, World #1 at such a young age...

Dubai WTA is live starting today. Russian tennis prodigy Mirra Andreeva unexpectedly lost to Peyton Stearns of the USA 2:6, 6:2, 1:6. For the world nr.65 it's just the second time in her career she beats a top50 player.

Another unexpected result is Ekaterina Alexandrova losing to Magdalena Frech 6:7, 3:6.

Tons of interesting matches coming up today including Paolini v Haddad Maia, Mertens v Tsurenko and Kenin v Cirstea.

Surly Jarry is the favourite now to win the final now ina BA but I wouldn't be surprised of the other outcome would happen.
Beating Alcarez surly must have been the biggest win of his life, at least I suppose.
Often after huge upsets players lose the next game against a much weaker opponent, have seen that a million times. Don't know why that happens so often, maybe it's a pressure thing.
Against a top caliber player you can only win as the underdog, if you lose then everybody expected that anyway.
But now he is the favourite and the pressure is on him to first, follow up the hugh upset, and second, win the title.
Let's see how he can handle that situation.

So its an all South American final down in Buenos Aires, as everyone is saying Jarry beating
Alcaraz is massive and in two sets.

Sinner got the job done against Griekspoor, he was much improved and looked way more sharper
than previous matches.

Alcaraz loss against Jarry. It was not expected as result but personally I have seen him a bit "tired" in his game playing.
Sinner will play today against De Minaur. Australian player has lost all match against him but moreover he has never won a single set in 4 matches ... Odds as usual very low (Italian bookmakers @1.22)
Thanks to the Final Sinner will reach the third place in ATP Ranking. This is a record also for all Italian tennis player Roll Eyes

Odds today on ROLLBIT are Sinner 1.23 v 4.30 de Minaur. Is the Australian that much
of an outsider? I dont think so TBH.

This is brilliant for Jannik to be reaching #3 in the rankings, ok Medvedev is taking a break but
we all know Jannik deserves that position.

Yes, I agree, there's little doubt Alcaraz will win the title.

World #1 Iga Swiatek has won a WTA 1000 title in Doha. She defeated Elena Rybakina in the final 7:6, 6:2. Rybakina was making too many unforced errors during this match. She was leading 4:2 in the first set but lost momentum and Iga came back and broke the Kazakh twice. She then won in the tie-breaker. Second set was not that intense anymore. 6:2 easy win for the Pole.
A few surprising results yesterday with Iga sweeping Rybakina with ease, while I was expecting 3 sets of gruelling match. Jarry gets the better of Carlos Alcaraz which was the bigger upset. Tommy Paul beats Tiafoe in quick straight sets at Delray Beach. Alex DeMinur beats Grigor Dimitrov in Rotterdam.

just finished the first set Sinner against Raonic 7 - 6 . The canadian player has committed some errors during tie break and the loss was practically there. However great match between the two players, Raonic is not young anymore but has been able to compete very well today. let's see next set

edit
forfait. Raonic has just left the match.

Yes I was watching this, he is still succumbing to injuries. He did right, he was visually
struggling with his ankle I think so no point in damaging it further.

Sinner is struggling a bit in this tournament, he says ots the court and its heavyness,
I think he would have beaten Raonic last night anyway TBH

He plays homeboy Griekspoor who is having a fantastic tournament with his home crowd,
it will be a big upset though if he goes on to beat Sinner.

Second semi final is de Minaur v Dimitrov - there he is again in the mix, Dimitrov is again
playing great but he isnt favourite surprisingly.

Yeah, Dimitrov is showing some world-class tennis in Rotterdam. If you're placing bets on his matches you should take this into account. If he's not a favourite, perhaps it's a good chance to win some easy money.

Meanwhile at a bit neglected Argentina Open in Buenos Aires semi-finalists are known: Alcaraz is facing Jarry, while Coria and Diaz Acosta will meet in an all-Argentinian semifinal.

Yea, was wondering where Alcaraz was but didnt investigate it at all TBH. Looking now
at the semi finals line up and I would be massively surprised if Alcaraz doesnt win outright.

He is big favourite against Jarry @ 1.17

The Other semi final is Diaz Acosta v Coria, they are pretty much evens so it could
go either way and I cant see either of them posing a threat to Alcaraz in the final.

Over at Rotterdam IDK about betting on Dimitrov eventhough we agree he is playing
great tennis, de Minaur isnt favourite for nothing and I have a habit of backing the
favourite on most occasions.

EDIT--------

I don't know guys if you have seen Sinner's match yesterday... but his performance was pretty nice as usual in the last period.
he had already won this year against the Dutch player.
I wan't expecting any big surprises. apart from a few aces there was practically never a match between the players...

the odds of 1.10 are low but interesting since Sinner was capable of winning a match without any problem...
Sinner has been playing impressive and didn't expect his odds to be any good to put in a single bet but have him on my parlay with other sports matches today.
Had put a couple of bets on the other players in this tournament but they have been all over the board and not as consistent with their gameplay like Sinner has been.

Also in the Qatar Open Swiatek won the first set in the finals so will likely stay at her No.1 spot in the WTA standings.

Anyway, in Doha today we will only see one semifinal as Karolina Pliskova who had to meet World #1 Iga Swiatek has withdrawn.
Actually, it wasn't fun enough that when have reached the semifinals one of them withdrew.
It would have been quite interesting if Osaka had won the quarterfinals yesterday and watching her compete with Swiatek would probably have been an exciting match.
Elena Rybakina reached the final after beating Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets and only a few moments did the third seed experience problems but overall Rybakina managed to overcome her opponent well.
This would be an ideal final, the first seed with the third seed, the last meeting was an exhibition match where Swiatek managed to win but overall in the official match Rybakina was ahead so this will be an even match and maybe Rybakina can win her third title this year and continue her winning streak, but Swiatek looks pretty solid at the moment.

Elena Rybakina will face Swiatek in the next match. The next match is also going to be the final of this tournament as well. This is going to be a competitive match in my opinion. At least I hope it will be because I don't want the final to be a one sided match. I don't think it is going to be a one sided match because as you said, it is a match between the first seed and the third seed. So it is going to be very unexpected if it is one-sided somehow.  But I think that Swiatek is going to be the favourite to win this match.  But it is not going to be easy for her. Not going to be easy for either of them to be honest.

Yeah, Swiatek is doing great but let's not forget that H2H is 3:1 in favour of Rybakina and she has been a very uncomfortable opponent for Iga so far. Also the fact that Rybakina is improving from match to match and she is feeling much more comfortable now than when the tournament started. If she will keep this momentum, she can beat Iga.

his top performance from AO.

It was a little more difficult for Sinner against Moflis and he lost a set in that match. But he is generally on the right track. I think the won of the Australian Open was his door opener and he will perform very well this year.
He will play against Milos Raonic in the quarter-finals in Rotterdam. Raonic had beaten Bublik in 2 sets with 6:4 each.
It looks like Sinner can win this tournament.

New Bombshell out in tennis news as one of the top prospects of Romanian tennis Sara Maria Popa alleges that Mouratoglou Academy are supplying performance enhancing drugs to teenagers who train at their academy. Sara Maria Popa also spoke about the case of Simona Halep and mentioned that many athletes resort to banned substances. I will quote her statement below:

Quote
I want it to end well, as does every person who supports it. There were mistakes on both sides. Maybe she should have been careful too, maybe the people from Mouratoglou should have been careful too, to tell her exactly when to give her that substance, perhaps. I don't know the details and I don't want to go into too much. We don't know the insides. There are athletes who take those substances, only they don't get caught because they know exactly when to eliminate the substance and they know exactly when to take them. I, for example, was tested weekly and never took. But I can't put my hand in the fire for the other athletes. Supplements are different from the substances that the physical trainers and doctors at the Academies give to the athletes. Supplements are exactly the daily pills that every person can take.
I went when I was 12 years old. I played at the Mouratoglou Academy. It is true, from a young age athletes are given some substances. In juniors, you are not controlled by Anti-doping. They let you grow up a little more, to turn 17, and from then on the checks start more intensively. Players and parents must agree. They are given a sheet and must sign to agree to take that substance. The first time I was scared, I really didn't know what was going on (no - anti-doping controls)
while speaking to AS.ro

What are your thoughts? Are more players going to voice their opinions on doping slowly? Do you think there might be some top players that might be doping and who?

I'm pretty sure that most/all top players are taking performance enhancing drugs. As a tennis insider I can tell you that it's true. Top players like Rafa Nadal, Williams sisters etc are awarded TUE and can't be tested at all.

Anyway, in Doha today we will only see one semifinal as Karolina Pliskova who had to meet World #1 Iga Swiatek has withdrawn.

P.S. Rybakina is through to the final.

Osaka v Pliskova - Osaka was just beaten in 2 sets with 2 tie breaks - close! I expect Osaka
to be stronger on her next tournament outing, I believe she is getting stronger and stronger.

Pliskova meets top seed Swiatek next, TBH I wouldnt know what way this is going to go.
Swiatek can lose matches she is expected to win.

Over at Rotterdam, Sinner beat Monfils in 3 sets and Rune got beaten by Shevchenko.
In a very entertaining 3 set and 3 tie breaks Griekspoor beat Hurkacz and plays
Ruusuvuori next in the quarter finals. The odds on this are 1.65 v 2.25 to the Dutchman,
he might be worth a bet to go to the semis.

Rybakina defeated Fernandez in a relatively easy match in straight sets 6:4, 6:2. Pavluychenkova is also through into the semis.

Swiatek v Azarenka is live now and the winner predicted by the bookies is Swiatek and her chances are overwhelming: something like 85% vs 15% for the Belarussian. Last match of the day will be Osaka v Pliskova and I'm sure we'll see some quality tennis there too.
