I just watched the highlights based on this news and Nardi looked like a top10 player, all his shots
in the first and second sets anyway were brilliant.

Yeah, that's what happens when you're too defensive and give your opponent the whole court to use against you.
Doković struggled even in the round before - against Vukic.

Tommy Paul will fancy his chances now, I can see him getting to the final. The lower part of the draw is more interesting anyway, Sinner is my pick ahead of Alcaraz.

the Italian player's winning odd was ... @19 !!! practically no one expected such a result.
even worse is betting these events live. It's really difficult to bet against a super favorite like Nole.

Italian tennis is still in great shape. I don't think there have ever been so many players at high levels in the past years.

@aoluain
it was to late Smiley but it was better , because in such case it's really hard to not bet on Djokovic....

WOW, and this from a lucky loser! I hope bitbollo was watching this but I think it was on too late

I just watched the highlights based on this news and Nardi looked like a top10 player, all his shots

This will certainly drive Alcaraz, Sinner and Medvedev on for sure, the outright favourite being beaten
leaves Sinner as the favourite @ 2.65 great price!

Next match today is very interesting, Lehecka v Tsitsipas, offhand I would think Tsitsipas will be in
trouble here but in fairness he is playing well so far.

An upset that probably nobody predicted. Novak Djokovic loses to Lucas Nardi in three sets. It has become one of the top upsets at Indian Wells history with Nardi being rated 123rd in the world rankings. Here's a pic of the other major upsets at the event, in the past.

Today there are some games that I'm thinking about betting on, even though I'm an amateur at tennis. Holger Rune will play against Lorenzo Musetti. rune is being seen as the favorite by the bookmakers and in my opinion it makes perfect sense, he is number 7 in the world and is in good physical shape, against Lorenzo Musetti who currently occupies position number 26 having in the past reached the position number 15 and this season according to what I read, Lorenzo Musetti played 11 games and won only 4 games, lost 7 games, while last year rune reached position number 4, this year at the beginning of the year to be more precise, rune reached the final of the ATP in Brisbane. That's why in my opinion rune will be victorious in this game and the odds value is very good, it's at 1.35 if rune manages to win

Another interesting game is Daniil Medvedev's game against Sebastian Korda, in that game I intend to bet on Medvedev to win the game, currently Medvedev occupies position number 4, and 2 years ago he managed to reach position number 1, this season he He hasn't managed to win any relevant tournament yet, but from what I saw in the news he reached the final of the Australian Open, which he lost to Jannik Sinner, while his opponent, Sebastian Korda, currently occupies position number 25 and the highest position he has reached until today was last year when he reached position number 23, he is 23 years old and throughout his career he has only won the ATP in Parma. In my opinion, Daniil Medvedev will win this game, the odds for Daniil Medvedev are 1.38 and I think that placing a multibet bet with Rune's game to win would be a good thing. I'm thinking about doing this

You did right by betting on Rune, he won in 2 sets. Musetti has not been playing very
well for the last while.

Medvedev should best Korda too, Korda is "hit or miss" for the last whole also, he is
unpredictable but I cant see him beating last years finalist. The odds on Medvedev are
not bad either.

Interesting match currently under way Paul v Humbert, the odds are 1.90 each. I have a
small bet on Humbert, he is playing great Tennis lately, hopefully he can keep it going...

Currently playing its Rublev v Lehecka and Rublev is in trouble, lost the first set
and broken in the second already.

And Rublev loss the match! Lehecka is a player underrated, but in my opinion he expresses excellent tennis and it is only a matter of time to see his potential emerge.
Sinner confirms himself as a solid player. It's clear that he's not just interested in the number 2 position at this point...

Its time for her to retire, as you say 3 sets doesnt suit her and got bagled by Hibino,
I dont get it, does she really expect to bag another title? she doesnt need the money
so it cant be that...
It's very possible about the title but it's like something she won't be able to get anymore, especially in a big tournament like this, so it seems like her presence in this tournament is just about business for the tournament because it brings in more spectators, especially if she manages to survive longer.

The fourth round match which is quite interesting and I am looking forward to it is J. Sinner vs B. Shelton, last year they met twice with a score of 1-1 so this is quite difficult to predict even though Sinner is still the favorite seeing his performance which is still at his best, but Shelton has weapons to trouble Sinner who is undefeated this year, while Alcaraz will face Morozsan, a player who beat him last year and who also can stop Alcaraz from defending his title here, likewise, the Zverev vs De Minaur match will be quite difficult to predict.

Sinner is the strong favourite of the match and probably there are no surprise against Struff. Let's see, match is going to start in matter of minutes.
Meanwhile it's just over Alcaraz again FAA. Easy win for the spaniard player... FAA far away to be a reliable opposite today Sad

I watched both matches, Alcaraz looked in great form, getting stronger for sure,
Felix AA had a poor enough match by his standards, disappointing really.

Sinner too looked really good, he is playing some seriously solid Tennis, he looked
fresh and really in control of the match from start to finish, I think anyone left in the
will fear playing him.

ATP Indian Wells its rounds of 64 and almost all the seeded players have made it through
apart from Davidovic Fokina23 beaten by Fils and Hurkacz8 beaten by Monfils.

There are some very interesting Round of 32 matches starting today:

Tiafoe v Tsitsipas - hard to pick a winner

Bublik v de Minaur - de Minaur is favourite and is playing well, Bublik will want to have a top
performance to beat him

Felix AA v Alcaraz - this could be a great match, a chance perhaps for Felix to cause an upset,
he is playing very well while Alcaraz may not be in his top form yet although Alcaraz is favourite
at 1.19....

Struff v Sinner - I dont think there will be an upset here

Rublev v Lehecka - hard to pick a winner

@aoluain, just the pleasure of playing and being in the spotlight? It is a similar situation for Murray, he can win 1-2-3 rounds but after that his body can’t handle it anymore. Sometimes you just need to call it a day, that is what Federer also did.

yea I kinda understand that but there comes a time where it has to be de-moralising
to be less and less competitive and not being able to meet the same standards you
one had.

I think Federer did it very well, he could see his Tennis career finished.

Murray cant see it

and I think this year will be a decider for Rafa, I cant see him doing what Murray
is doing, I imagine he would just pull the plug similar to what Roger did.

Venus should pull the plug, its such an effort to show up at a tournament, spend time
getting used to the weather and courts and then to get beaten in a first or second round.

The French Open is still 2 months and 2 weeks away. Lets hope he will be fit again then. Otherwise it will certainly become more and more difficult for his psyche.

I guess it's the main reason he postpones his return. He knows he has no room for mistakes anymore. Risking now and returning too early and on hard can put an end to his career.

Certainly

Rublev has now also made a video on social media and in the video he apologised for his incident in Dubai. That should put the matter to bed and he can get back to doing what he does best against Murray in Inidan Wells. Murray had no problems in his opening match against Goffin and won clearly in two sets. But it will be much tougher against Rublev and unfortunately I do not see much of a chance from Murray to win this match.

I dont see much of a chance for Murray either. This is a match I will definitely watch
later on because it will be very entertaining, the Tennis will be top class and the passion
from both players will be in the Red. Odds for this one are 1.17 v 4.80.

I am happy to see that Osaka has progressed to the next round after easily beating
Errani. sorry bitbollo! She plays the 14th seed Samsonova tomorrow.

Venus William looked set to win the first round at Indian Wells against Japanese tennis player Nao Hibino but it cannot be denied that her age of 43 made it difficult for her to play more than two sets because in the third set she did not manage to win a single game and had to be eliminated from this tournament.
Just waiting for her to announce retirement from her tennis career

Simona Halep will get a wild card at the Miami Open which will be held after Indian Wells, this will certainly be good news for her and she can already prepare herself because the tournament will be held in less than 10 days.

And today the top players will start the match because they got a bye in the first round, Alcaraz vs Arnaldi, this looks like it will still be easy for Alcaraz to pass who will try to defend his title in this tournament

This was a lot of drama. I just feel happy that the player actually did not have to face too many negative consequences. We all understand that whatever he did, happened in the heat of the moment. After he actually had the final laugh, I did not think he was actually going to apologize. But it's good to say that he did apologize.

I am happy for him because a lot of times these things can have a negative impact on a player pretty easily. But the matter is handled well by him. And I also agree that for us, I hope we will be able to see him perform well in the next match against Murray.

After I have seen the comeback of Murray, I think that even Nadal could make again a great season even if he Is "old".
Today there is Sinner that Will play in Indiano Wells.
He Will face Kokkinakis.
Odds are very low or of course, related to the current situation of players (Sinner win at @1.07) ...

Again Rafael Nadal withdrew from the big tournament Indian Wells after confirming that he would play in the tournament and even arrived early to make longer preparations but he again felt he was not fit to compete in a big tournament like the ATP 1000, sad news for his fans and maybe he will be able to play for the French Open
https://www.atptour.com/en/news/nadal-indian-wells-2024-withdrawal

That is so disappointing and must be so disappointing for him too. I hope he has the strength and energy to carry on. But I would also understand if he stopped his tennis career. It still looked good in the show match in Las Vegas against Alcaraz last Sunday. Although he did not have to push himself to his physical limits. The French Open is still 2 months and 2 weeks away. Lets hope he will be fit again then. Otherwise it will certainly become more and more difficult for his psyche.
