At the end of set 3 the joy from Alcaraz returned. And that resulted in a much better game. But Zverev answered great right at the start of set 4. I think that gave him back his courage. In the fourth set, it was a match of eye level. But overall Zverev played much more aggressively and that was the key for his success. After almost being eliminated from the Australien Open he showed great tennis today.

Zverev is ahead to the semi finals of this tournament. He performed really well in this match. He literally did not give any chance to his opponent. And to me, not at a single moment, I thought Alcaraz would be able to make a big comeback after he was down two sets to zero. I was actually a little sad, to be honest. Because I thought the matches were going to be competitive. But that was not the case. And people might think that I am talking trash about Alcaraz, but I am genuinely not and I obviously honestly expected Alcaraz to perform better.

Didn't see it coming especially after Zverev had some matches were he was not really great. I wonder what the odd for Zverev was as Alcaraz was clearly the favorite to win this match. Djokovic has been the top favorite to win the title but maybe Sinner can put up a fight and maybe cause an upset.

Medvedev needed 5 sets for reaching the semi-finals. Hurkacz played more risky in this match, while Medvedev played it for safely. That was interesting to watch. It was a match that took a lot of energy. Medvedev said in the interview, hes is totally exhausted but happy. Now he can recover a little bit and watch who his next opponent will be. Alcaraz or Zverev.

Medvedev has never been a good tennis player in my eyes. Hurkacz fought well, but Medvedev came out on top.
It is a fact that Novak plays tennis more effectively despite his age. If Novak had not been banned from the Australian Open when he was anti-vaccination, he could have become the Australian Open champion that year too.
He is one of the favorites this year too, but there is a threat like Alcaraz. I am looking forward to seeing how Alcaraz will perform in front of Zverev.
Medvedev passed this round, only to be crushed by Alcaraz in the semi-finals.

Define "good player". Medvedev is real good, his is an ex #1 ATP player and a GS winner! If you mean he has poor technical skills, I agree, but that doesn't make him a bad player. There are thousands of players with perfect forehands and backhands and serves and volleys but unfortunately they can't win in a competitive match.

Anyway, WTA semifinals are known:

Sabalenka v Gauff
Yastremska v Zheng

The Ukrainian qualifier Yastremska is the biggest suprise of this tournament. And her journey is not over yet.

Now watching Zverev v Alcaraz and it's 6:1 Zverev first set. What a surprise! My bet is on Carlitos so I'm praying he's gonna come back.

Technically I don't like it at all and I don't think it's good. He is a tennis player who won the 2021 US Open championship, but I do not like it. Once upon a time, there was Goran Ivanisevic, a Croatian tennis player, but I never liked him either. He beat Patrick Rafter in the final with no technical skills, only hard serves, and became the Wimbledon champion. For example, both Nadal and Novak would be technical and the fight would be extreme. Medvedev is someone who has also won ATP championships, but he is not the tennis player that interests me. I also respect those who like it.

Well he has what it takes to win matches, be consistently reaching quarter finals and
semi finals and winning tournaments, they might not be grand slams but he has a lot
going for his game, he isnt ranked #3 on world rankings for nothing! Of course not everyone
likes him, but thats not the point and he doesnt care.

Here we are again, he is in another semi final to play Zverev, for me its hard to call
this one, alot of people would expect a Djokovic v Medvedev final.

I have my bet on for Sinner to beat Djokovic, Imagine a Sinner v Zverev final?

I can say that the Australian Open has no meaning for me. I was waiting for the Alcaraz Novak final, but Alcaraz lost 1-3 to Zverev today and said goodbye to the tournament.
I don't want to make any more predictions about who will beat whom, but the biggest favorite for me right now will be Novak Djokovic. I don't know who his opponent will be in the final, but my predictions are generally the opposite.
Since I said I don't like Medvedev technically, I wouldn't be surprised if Medvedev becomes the champion.

3rd set into the tie break. Carlitos loses the first 2 sets convincingly against Zverev. It will be interesting if he manages to crawl back into the match. If there's anything in his favor, he has immense cardio. The Spaniard can run for days while Zverev isn't half bad himself. Could get interesting if Alcaraz gets the 3rd. However, Zverev is trying to shut it all down as he leads a mini break 2-0 in the 3rd set tie breaker.

Edit: Wooow, Carlos really stepped it up! after being down 2-0 in the tie breaker, he wins the next 7 in a row to take the 3rd set 7-6! Game on.

It seems that many were surprised to see the score in the Zverev vs Alcaraz match because it was not what many people predicted, and currently Alcaraz is two sets behind Zverev, a very impressive performance from a player who spent more time on the court to get to the quarterfinals. The third set will really determine whether Alcaraz will be able to survive in this tournament or whether Zverev will close out the match.
From those who have been to the semi-finals, Sinner has the most solid performance and whoever will go to the semi-finals between Zverev or Alcaraz, these are all the top players who will make the semi-finals and finals very interesting and this year Djokovic will not easily defend his title, it is even very possible that his progress will be stopped in the semi-finals and his winning streak at the Australian Open will be broken.

I was also surprised to see the score of this match. people are talking this match was going to be a lot more competitive. But so far the match has not been competitive at all. So far Zverev has been ahead in this match and it does not seem like things are going to change. Might be a very embarrassing loss for Alcaraz. But I think it is probably not happening. People might say that I am talking too much negative. But it is what it is. It will have to be very hard work for Alcaraz and his opponent will have to also make a few mistakes for him to win this match.

Anybody watching Zverev - Alcaraz? Zverev destroyed him in the 1st set.

Alcaraz had it easy so far while Zverev struggled a lot, I expected him to win easily.
He'll need to improve drastically to have a chance to turn this around.

Alcaraz vs zverev
The match is currently going on and so far Zverev is ahead in this match. Currently, he has already been able to win the first two sets. In the third set, things are still looking competitive. But this one is also in favor of Zverev as well.  Things are definitely not looking good for Alcaraz. But let's see if he can turn things around. It is definitely going to be very hard even if he can do it.

And the second set also goes to Zverev. Great performance from him. He has Alcaraz completely under control. He is focussed and makes sure that Alcaraz makes mistakes. When one consider that Zverev has played 5 hours more in this tournament so far he is still very focussed.
Fitness will probably also decide this match in the end. If it goes to a fourth set it will be more difficult for Zverev.

A good performance from Medvedev. His opponent Hurkacz looked like he was definitely playing risky and also looked to be very confident. I don't know if that was actually overconfidence or not. Because I think he should have played a little more carefully. After all, this was the quarter-final. Now Medvedev is in the semi-finals. It is still undecided who is going to be his opponent. But whoever it is, it is going to be a very hard one for him in my opinion. I actually think it might be Alcaraz.

That was a great performance from Sinner. Very impressive. In general, his performance at the Australian Open is very consistent and at a high level. He has always won in 3 sets so far while the others have lost at least one set. i mean those who are still in the tournament. So he will not be an easy opponent for Djokovic and we can certainly looking forward to an exciting match.

Yea unbelievable from Sinner, 2 easy enough sets for him with a wobbler in the middle on
a tie break. Its true he has still yet to drop a set in the AO and is looking strong to meet
Djokovic on Friday. Looking at the odds now Sinner is at 2.8, great chance of an upset
with decent odds. Djokovic is at 1.45.

Djokovic dropped a set against Fritz today and even had a tie break thrown in but of course
he is hard to beat over 2 sets, he can drop the first two sets and still win the match, thats
been proven twice I think.

Our Quartefinalists, ladies and gentlemen. Some really spicy matchups here and there while WTA is a wild wild west as usual, ready to be conquered. Sabalenka has a real shot at it if she can remain consistent and sharp.

today djokovic easy win meet T fritzs 3-1
7-6, 4-6 , 6-2, 6-3
i think grand slam australia open will to final meet djokovic vs alcaraz
Alcaraz is a bright young player. but usually Spanish players are strong on clay. but not strong on grass.
And the Australian Open Grand Slam is not a clay court.

Fritz pushed Djokovic hard in the first 2 sets. The first set ended as a result of tie break. Although Fritz took the second set, Novak showed his difference in the 3rd and 4th sets.

Novak passed the round without any difficulty. Right now, the only tennis player who can challenge Novak and even beat him in my opinion is Alcaraz. He will also be on the court tomorrow and although his opponent Zverev is the number 6 seed, the tennis he played the other day did not satisfy me. There is no situation that can force Alcaraz. Alcaraz is the clear favorite in this tournament.
