No because to get the Golden Slam you need to win the Summer Olympic Games tournament too but he said he's not really eager to paricipate because of the hard restrictions from the japanese authorities and moreover he wants to stay focus and to seriously prepare the US Open. So I don't think he will get the Golden Slam this year but getting the Grand Slam title would already be a great achievement.

Unfortunately, if he will take this decision not to take part in the Tokyo Olympics because this is an opportunity for him to win a gold medal and also be able to equal Steffi Graff's record as the first and only player to do win all the GS title in one year and completing with Olimpics gold medal, but this is understandable given the current conditions in Tokyo, this is a little uncomfortable with the number of people infected with covid-19 starting to increase.
I don't think Djokovic really cares of the number of infected people, last year he went to the US Open while most of big players like Nadal, Federer, Stan Wawrinka, etc withdrew due to COVID-19 safety concerns, moreover if you compare the situation in United Kingdom and in Japan you'll find there are way more covid19 cases in UK than in Japan : 35 000 daily new cases vs 2500

Yea Djokovic is too strong, next up now is the next Grand Slam to make 4 in one season
which has only been done once before.

Berrettini has a fantastic first set to win it from 5-2 down, super effort physically and mentally but...
Djokovic always seems to have that extra gear.

I had a bet on Djokovic anyway to win.

I think it's already possible that Djokovic can win all 4 GrandSlam tournaments in one year. The top task would also be Olympic gold, Djokovic is currently simply in top form.

But Berrettini is still young and will still win a lot in his career.

In fact, Djokovic did not play his best tennis in the semifinals and finals, but that is also a characteristic of great champions, that they win even when they don't play at their usual level.
Berretini was very good but it is always very difficult to play such big and important matches.
The psychological pressure is huge and it is not easy for a young player to play such a match.
I'm sure that the Italian will be even better in the future and that he will soon start winning his first GS tournaments.
Personally, I think that Federer's time has passed and that he will no longer win any GS tournaments while Nadal has a chance only in Paris.
This year is a great chance for NadalDjokovic to win the golden slam, which no one has ever managed to win, and after that he can retire as a GOAT.
You should respect a little bit more Rafael Nadal IMO, he won the US Open in 2017 and 2019 (he was absent from the last one in 2020), moreover if Djokovic wasn't able to be defeated in any tournament except the French Open, sportsbooks wouldn't list his matches anymore or with odds equal to 1.00 or under 1. So your champion is not unbeatable, and you will see him losing in one of the next tournements for sure, mark my words.
BTW he won't be the first one to manage to win the golden slam, it has already been done by Steffi Graf in 1988.

Novak's a beast of his own kind. Berretini played great tennis but even that's not enough against this Djokovic.
The Italian player had the illusion to be able to win Wimbledon but Djokovic really was extraordinary yesterday. Still I believe Berretini's an excellent player, he's young and might be able to become a top player.
Federer, Nadal and Djokovic won't play forever Cool
Well, you aren't number one if you really can't do any kind of awesome plays right? I think he deserves the win, he played really well and he is a down to earth guy, even mentioning Federer in his interview to make it sort of like a tribute.

Berrettini played good in first set and flipped it but when you play against the world's number one you have to do some extra extra. I'm glad Nole win another grand slam and equalize numbers, I hope he will pass on next tournament and became the greatest by number alone. He's already goat of tennis but surely that number also would doubters mouth shut. Considering his age and condition he can carry that most grand slam championship number to way higher before retirement.

I've got bets on Ash Barty and Karolina Pliskova which I placed before the Wimbledon tournament began - either way I'm in for a modest win (I didn't put big bucks on the end result, but it's nice to know that two of my picks have made it to the finals.

Good for you too, I did not do anything more after the womens everything was too low on Djokovic to bet on, but now ATP and Masters are all to look forward to.

Hope to see Federer still play another one right after this and then we can look for another grand meetup between him and one of the others. Still not ready to say goodbye:)

We have 3 players on 20 titles before the last GS of the season. Federer is 39 and this is potentially his last season, Nadal and Đoković are 35 and 34 and they probably have a few years left. It is expected that they will both surpass Roger on the list in the near future.

Đoković needs only the US Open to become the 1st male tennis player after Rod Laver to win 4 major tournaments in the same year. He won only 3 US Opens so far (out of 20 GS's) but he will fancy his chances this season.

Congratulations to Novak but he made the game a little bit boring to me.He could have won much more easily but he took it easy in the beginning and just prolonged the game. For us who did bet on him and a big amount because the odd was 1.20 and it looked like a sure win which in the end it was, made us go through some big emotions when he lost the first set.Anyway after that he fully came back to speed and won easily all the other sets by winning the Wimbledon.
This isn't just a simple win because this is a Grandslam for him and I think that he made some tribute to Federer for his win. Now wonder why he is the number one in the world rankings right now, he is pretty good.

Maybe what he meant is that no one is even close at defeating Novak Djokovic, regardless if it is a grand slam event or a master 250 or 500. That's why is kinda boring for some because he has completely dominated the tournament this year. Medvedev if I'm not mistaken has a chance to overtake him in this tournament, sadly he lost early so it's still Djokovic in the finals and in the top of the world rankings.

As expected a win for Novak, he is too strong.
Good game for the Italian and now he should climb up to the rank 6 if I'm not mistaken.

He is just on another level instead of all other players. They arent even close to him i think if he wants to win it all he can win it easily. This wimbeldon was probobly the easiest grandslam win in history i think he only dropped 2 sets in the entire tournament. What a player i think he can win it all this year. Anyone else thinks the same? Golden slam incoming?
Yeah, I think Golden slam is incoming, last leg is US Open, and with the way he is playing, he is unstoppable. US Open is not Nadal's cup of team, Roger will try but he has to go to a lot of young players and he is ageing. While Djokovic is somewhat hitting his prime and as long as there are these young players that are going to push him, he will be above anyone else because he has the experience and the mentality game. Nothing to be ashamed for Berrettini, now he proves that he is a all around player (clay and grass).

i totally agree, i started to think that he can win all four when he won the 2nd one which is Roland Garros, it was the hardest one since Nadal was also participating in it, now there is only one left, Us Open, an he'll win it all, and i think he can do it, he is unstoppable, the new young talents can not keep up with him.

Very good game from Djokovic, after the rather weak first set from Djokovic he improved and didn't give up another set. Now he has already won 3 Grand Slam tournaments this year, will he also win the fourth one this year?

Most like as he has been playing superb tennis that no one can even touch him.

He lost the first set after leading like 5-2 and allow Berrettini to win in a tie break. But that's it, after that he shifted gear break him early and that was enough for him to have a good cushion. And the same pattern in the last 3 sets, so no upset coming this year. 20th Grand Slam and keep on counting. Djokovic is the only one left of the great big 3 and he is not folding to these young generations.

Novak is the Wimbledon champion no big surprisein that, and twenty grand slams in the balance.
This is the worst scenario that Nadal and Roger expected, which is that Djoko invests in an injury to one of them and at the end of the other.
Djokovic still has a solid mind I think, this man does not as if he was provoked that will negatively affect his opponent. He wakes himself from sleep and break wim even if you are serving the match. A lot did not expect his true strength until he surprised them with reality.
Now he got his eye on the way to get his 21 Grand Slam.
