Also if Wimbledon won’t be arranged next season then fans may never get to see Fedder play for the last time at Wimbledon, and that’ll be heartbreaking news for all the tennis fans. Lastly I’m personally expecting, that Fedder will retire after playing in next year’s Wimbledon.

The organiser confirmed that Wimbledon 2021 will take a place, this is a good news.

If the rumours about Federer retirement become true there will be unforgettable moments for Him at wimbledon if can win the next GS title for total 21 GS in 2021.

@Juggy777 - Of course we wanted to see more tennis, but if the pandemic is still not contained in early 2021 and on the contrary, second or third wave is happening, I doubt that we will tournaments except Grand Slams but with strict health regulations.

I believed that Federer will still push for a final slam next year for title number 21 in AO on Wimbly.

https://www.skysports.com/tennis/news/12110/12110078/novak-djokovic-confirms-he-will-skip-paris-masters-next-month

Djokovic confirmed that he will skip Paris Masters next month, because there is no points for him to win, since last year points will be retained, his goal is to overcome Federer as player with most weeks on the top of ATP list
This is a wise decision make by Djokovic but I don't think the whole plan was to overcome Federer as a player cause Nadal and Federer that had a tie point are more focused on the game ahead than the G.O.A.T. However, his skipping ATP  will make him have some time to prepare himself physically and medically ready for the London and Vienna tournament.
Not too surprised by his decision, he's the type of player who always wants to make new records and there's nothing wrong with that.
It is possible for Novak to end this year as a number one player, and surpass Federer records the difference between them just 19 weeks.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ATP_number_1_ranked_singles_tennis_players#By_player
Djokovic is in much better shap and he can stay on top for some long time now as he is doing and planing for his long term future its really good for him he can break many records in next few years as currently no one is going to challenge him for big titles he need to concentrate with his health issues which is very important for him to stay at top and for breaking many records.

Well we have seen with Federer and Nadal that they map out their tournaments that they will play in as they start to get older and now we might start seeing this with Djokovic as he starts to get older which I think is a wise decision to make. That is also why I think Federer and Nadal have been able to keep playing well into their 30's because of this and it will be good to see Djokovic do this as well so we get to see him play on for years to come if he can stay fit and healthy and not sustain any long term injury.

Yes, Federer started it and then Nadal follow suit, they are very selective of tournaments that they are going to enter, specially for Federer, he will have long breaks, as if he is going on sabbatical then come back strong and win tournaments.

And it really make sense for Djokovic as well, recently he had a injury, and you don't need to aggravate it as it might give you problems in the future, his still number 1 and unreachable, so it won't hurt him taking some rest and taking a pass on this tournament.

think that we can already says congrats him for that achievement, reaching the number of GS will be another story

Age could be the crucial factor. I know all three (Fed, Nadal, Djok) are all playing really well into their thirties... but Federer is 39 now, and surely he can't stay up at the top for much longer? Which would leave the French with Nadal, so he gains +1 slam each year... but the other 3 you'd prefer Djokovic to Nadal, so he has 3 big chances and one outside chance each year to catch Federer. Ignoring the up-and-coming stars, who aren't quite at the 'big 3' level. But given Nadal's ridiculous dominance in France, you wouldn't put it past him to keep winning in Roland Garros every year into his forties!

yeah, i think that his goal for the season is to finish it on the No.1, and probably all the plans are on final masters of the season, which seem to be enough to secure him top spot, and then it is a piece of cake to finish on top after AO, and reach Federer and probably stay on No.1 for some more time, to make it harder for someone new to surpass him in the long term, since one will need at least ten years to reach and surpass him, from new players

think that we can already says congrats him for that achievement, reaching the number of GS will be another story

So we can't discounted the fact that once he fully recovered, he will target both the Australian and the Wimbledon as he has a good record on that surface. So let's see how it will goes for him and tennis in general in 2021. And maybe he will think of retiring if he won at least a Grand Slam next year.

i would count him out from Australian Open, Djokovic is at home there, and i do not see a possibility for a Federer to win 3:0 against Djokovic there, and with more than 3 sets, i do not think that he can win at all
Wimbledon is another story, and Federer could win it, if the serve would serve him well, that is a fact, and older players have chances there, since the points are short and 5 set match could finish in three-and-a-half hours, so his chances are much better there, all other GS are out of reach for him IMHO
Right now Injury and age factor both going against Federer and I am counting him just some good and respectable place in both Australian open and Wimbeldon but no winner because now few youngsters also improving very good and have some good qualities to beat him so very few chances for him to win any grand slam after coming out of this injury time.

Personally, I love Federer but his misfortune is that he plays at the same time with two other greatest champions in tennis history, Nadal and Djokovic.
Since he is the oldest of the three and injured, I give him very little chance of winning another GS.
I respect your love for Federer but practically now you have to understand now its really hard for him as he is oldest in current generation players and we have some very tough and hard fighters so surely I also want him to win but its very very difficult.

That is the main concern I have with Federer now is his age is starting to go against him however he has the mental toughness which helps him get through tough matches and even though he is coming back from injury he has always been in good shape. Not sure if he can win another grand slam before he retires but I can see him making it far in grand slam tournaments and lets not forget that even though the young talent are starting to come up through the ranks, they still need to beat the big three which they still can't seem to do in big tournaments.

Yes, Europe seems not having a good numbers are far as controlling the spread of the virus, so there could be third or fourth wave coming next year, so no assurance still that some small tournaments are going to be held. But for the Grand Slams, no question about it, organizers will likely push with it and will adjust to the conditions of the pandemic next year.

And so I'm expecting Federer to be back and try to bring tennis again, specially if we witnessed him winning major tournaments again, it could be the come back of the year 2021.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to seeing Federer back playing tennis again. Let's see how he goes as remember when he was out with an injury last time he came back and won the Australian Open and had a great year, I'm not saying that he will do this again as he is older now but I do think that if its his last year that he will be pushing himself to win another grand slam title. Wimbledon will most likely be his main target but I wouldn't count him out of the Australian Open as he also has a good record at the AO.

And if I'm not mistaken, he had showed or share some video of his doing some training, that is a complete teaser to his fans, LOL. Yes, when he made his back, he won the Australian Open and playing high level again.

Judging by this news, Wimbledon will be held for sure next year, so you don't need to worry, we will enjoy the new clashes between Djokovic, Nadal and Federer  Grin
It seems that the only thing that has not been decided yet is how the tournament will be held, in what format, playing with full capacity, reduced capacity or behind closed doors.
The main reason why they are looking for a solution to hold a tournament and not thinking about a new postponement is of course in the money.
This year, the loss due to the cancellation was covered by their insurance policy, but next year it will not be possible.

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/54565964

Well this is good news as I really believe that Wimbledon is one grand slam tournament that must go ahead next year after not being played this year. Also the Australian Open will also go ahead for sure as now the case numbers here in Melbourne are almost at 0 cases daily just in time for the AO in 3 months time. It does look like it will be another strange year in 2021 unless the virus gets under control.

Looks like organisers are looking to preserved the Grand Slams only events for now and let go of some smaller tournaments. It's totally understandable though, they have to be selective of the tournaments and this is a good decision on their up, so we should expect Australian and then Wimbledon for next year, but small to mid-tier tournaments still getting cancelled or push through with very strict protocol and no big players entering.

@btc_angela in my personal opinion we should see more tournaments being organised next season, because most countries are now witnessing a drop in covid cases, so let’s hope that covid disappears for good in 2021.

Well the grand slam tournaments will go ahead for sure as they are the major titles in tennis and I do think that we'll see almost all ATP Masters 1000 tournaments go ahead as well as these tournaments are the next big tournaments after the grand slams so I would think that they would want them to be played next season after hardly any were played this year. I still think that covid-19 will still be around because its still growing in countries like India, some countries in Europe and the US so it will be around for most of next year if not all next year.
