When a favorite lose it seems like he doesn't want to be alone. Honestly I was expecting a surprise at Goffin because he won the last 3 meeting with Tiafoe. Same thing I can say about Kvitova. About Djokovic, he played very poor in his last 2 matches giving 4 breaks to some weak opponents. That's why his odd to win was 1.20 when it usually is around 1.10 for any opponent outside the top 10.
May be you are right. I have seen in many occasions. When a favourite lose, they take some more favourite with them LOL

Anyway, I was watching  Djokovic match until the rain interrupt. He won the first set very quick and in the second set he was one game down but it was his serve to equalise.

I was thinking this will be another easy win for him but it did not happen.

I woke up and discovered I lost the rest two as well :-P

As expected, again a poor performance from Kyrgios today. He just doesn't give a damn fu*k about any games expect those against players in top 10. I think the heat really upset and made him a lot bored today, since during break between first and two sets he was playing bottle flip and every time he had to get up from his chair seemed like a nightmare for him. Thats Kyrgios, can't do anything about it. When he is felling good he plays exceptional tennis but when he feels bored even a player outside the 100 places would beat him pretty easily.

Hehehe. What do you expect, as I have said, it's the typical Krygios attitude. Grin. We have seen him acted this way before so I'm not surprised by the lost. And yes, when he is on the zone, no matter who is in front of him, he can easily beat them, but when he is somewhat injured, or something is bothering him, he just gave the game away.

The mens #1 seed, Djokovic lost to Agut.  Sad
Yes. Quite sad to see joker go. He was doing good and looked as if he would have a solid win from a 6 - 1 first set. But it was the same thing which happened to him in doha earlier with agut which got him yet again.
Atleast tiafoe is doing good against goffin and then tsisipas later on tonight should be two who are going to the quarter finals.

I think the worse day of my Tennis pick was last night :-(
I had a three fold:
Djokovic, Novak @ 1.20
Goffin, David @ 1.53
Kvitova, Petra @ 1.58

and guess what? All of them lost. I never thought Djokovic will lose by the way.

He was playing coric today and he is ranked higher then him. But kyrgios always looks as if he is just on the court to be a jester. You can tell by the way he plays doing the between the legs shot he got in play. And even coric was mocking him by doing the same thing. Cheesy But of course he hit it wide. Tongue
Krygios was suffering from a knee strain cause he had to keep getting it bandaged up every break they had. You can tell if he is losing a game he will just let the shot pass so to end it so to move on to the next one. Never bet on his games cause he doesnt take any of his games seriously and can cost you your money. That is for certain.
Anderson seems like he is going to win his match and so is djokovic.
But there is a rain delay in the middle of their sets.

No strange games yesterday except for krygios arguing with a fan in the stands. Lips sealed
So placing a few bets on anderson to advance against sousa.
Watching sousa playing in the two last tournaments he was in his form is quite poor compared to where it was last year. So expect anderson to take the match in straight sets because he is rolling very quick in this open.

Typical Krygios.  Grin

This is what I mean with the young talent, Thiem has lost in a match he should of won however Hurkacz has been in some good form lately but still I call this an upset. Nishikori also lost in an upset to Lajovic after Nishikori won the first set easily so are we going to see another tournament with a lot of upsets and the top players losing early on?

I think Nishikori is having some form of injury or nursing something. And as I have said in my previous post, the Zverez vs Ferrer and Thiem vs Hurkacz will be a fun match to watch.  Grin

And that is the problem with Thiem I guess, inconsistency, playing superb and winning tournaments just a couple of weeks ago to playing sub-par against Hurkacz, (although Hurkacz is also in good form).

As for the Osaka lost, Hsieh is somewhat un-orthodox player, really hard to cope maybe this is one factor one Naomi lost. It seems that Naomi is having a hard time this season, I don't know she needs to produce something this year, otherwise a lot of ladies are coming and going to get the number 1 spot from her.

Yes I think Nishikori is carrying some sort of injury which he sustained in the Australia Open and since then he hasn't looked the same. This is the problem with tennis players they don't know when to take a break once they sustain an injury. They keep playing and the thing is that it could get worse so the best thing I think is for him to take a break and come back fresh and fit for the French Open which isn't too far away but it should give him enough time to get fit and healthy.

Right. I don't know why Nishikori is pushing his body like this, he really need to take a breather and let that mind and body heal at the same time.

Roger Federer is thru in the next round and will be facing Medvedev.  Interesting match today, Isner vs Edmund, and then Krygios vs Coric.

Looking good today for almost all the favorites to win. Grin
Placed a three match bet and they all hit for once.
Only one which was causing trouble for the favorite to win their match was opkella but medvedev managed to kill him in the tiebreaker scoring 7 to 0 in the final frame. Cool

I wont ever bet on thiem because he wins a tournament then he seems to zone out. I dont like that.
Thought wawrinka would win his match today. He was up 5 to 3 in the tiebreaker but let kranjinovic comeback winning 4 points in a row to take the match.
Roger federer lost the first set of his match and thought he was going to lose to albot.
Today was just one of those days were anyones matches were up in the air.
And on the womens side osaka lost to a not very good player in hsieh.

Yeah that seems to be the issue Thiem is having lately as he doesn't seem to be able to keep that winning momentum going for his next tournament. I'm still liking him for the French Open as an outsider, he almost pulled it off last year for me when I got on him to win the French Open at 35 -1 odds.

Did anyone see Nick Kyrgios in his doubles match which he and his team mate lost. He once again lost the plot and went off at the umpire swearing and even smashing his racket. I guess he will never be able to get his mindset right which is a shame as he has so much talent and potential to be a top player. I'll be interested to see how he goes in his single match later today.

Good to see Ferrer pushing hard against Zverev in the Miami open. Although he lost the first set , he broke Zverev in the second and leads 4-3 . His stamina on the court hasn't decreased a bit.

Hey Ferrer surprised me with his determination to win this game, at 36 years he’s not younger but he played like a young guy and won the match. I’m sure world number 3 Zverev will look back and wonder what went wrong, and I’m sure he’ll learn from this match. I feel if Ferrer can win this tournament it’ll be a nice touch before he retires in May.

I was not able to see the match but looking at the score I can tell that Federer had hard time to win the match. Lost first set, comeback in the 2nd set was not easy and finally won the third set.

Albot is not a bad player. Other day I was risking money for him when Ebden retired.

Anyway, If my calculation is wrong then I can see a perfect draw for Federer vs Djokovic. Although it is to early too predict.

WOW, Osaka lost again? She is not having good time. And Andreescu won again against Kerber. :-)

Let me tell you how lucky I was yesterday LOL

I had this bet 6 fold:
Two in two cricket match: Straight win (won)
Osaka, Naomi - Wickmayer, Yanina: Osaka (won)
Raonic, Milos - Marterer, Maximilian: Raonic (match void)
Kenin, Sofia - Andreescu, Bianca Vanessa : Andreescu (My new girl after Bencic and won)
Thiem, Dominic - Hurkacz, Hubert : Thiem (This is where I was lucky)

After winning all the above there were some long time to start Thiem match. The odd for the fold was 8+ initially but after the void match the new odd was 7.02. So obviously they offers a good amount in return to cash out and I cashed out without waiting for Thiem match.

Then I used some of the winning and placed another bet combined with:

Thiem, Dominic - Hurkacz, Hubert : Thiem
Bencic, Belinda - Putintseva, Yulia : Bencic (I can not just resist myself when I see Bencic is in the pitch. Same goes with Thiem and that Canadian girl)
Sonego, Lorenzo - Isner, John : Isner (it was in play at the time I placed the bet)
Djokovic, Novak - Tomic, Bernard : Djokovic
Albot, Radu - Federer, Roger : Federer

I woke up in the morning and found out Thiem lost! Also Bencic lost unfortunately.

But here is where I am lucky. In my first bet if I would wait for Thiem instead of settling with cash out then I would lose all the money that they offered. I really feel lucky that I cashed out.

Djokovic vs Tomic: Djokovic (easy pick)
Federer vs Albot: Federer (another easy pick)
Zverez vs Ferrer: not sure
Thiem vs Hurkacz : Thiem (He is having great time. Federer lost in the last Indian Wells final against him)
Tsitsipas vs M. McDonald: Not sure

For the women side, I hope Naomi Osaka gets a pass this time.
So,
Osaka vs Wickmayer : Osaka
Kenin vs Andreescu : Andreescu (In men side if Thiem is playing extra ordinary then this Canadian girl is also having her best time. She won Indian Wells just few days ago.)

Where is Bencic?

Bencic will be playing Yulia Putintseva in the next 30 minutes. Osaka already won,  6-0, 6-7, 6-1. Nishikori is out though, he was upset Dušan Lajović  6-2, 2-6, 3-6. Kenin vs Andreescu is live right now,  Andreescu takes the first set, 6-3 and leading the second set, 4-3.
