Ok, I checked the schedule in the men's side and there are a lot of known names who is going to play, it's round of 64 already so the fun has started.

Djokovic vs Tomic
Federer vs Albot
Zverez vs Ferrer (this could be a great match)
Thiem vs Hurkacz (another match to watch)
Tsitsipas vs M. McDonald

Interesting note on the women's side: Naomi Osaka, eldest sister Mari, will be playing in this tournament. Unfortunately, she lost against a 16th year old Whitney Osuigwe, 6-2, 6-4.

Djokovic vs Tomic: Djokovic (easy pick)
Federer vs Albot: Federer (another easy pick)
Zverez vs Ferrer: not sure
Thiem vs Hurkacz : Thiem (He is having great time. Federer lost in the last Indian Wells final against him)
Tsitsipas vs M. McDonald: Not sure

For the women side, I hope Naomi Osaka gets a pass this time.
So,
Osaka vs Wickmayer : Osaka
Kenin vs Andreescu : Andreescu (In men side if Thiem is playing extra ordinary then this Canadian girl is also having her best time. She won Indian Wells just few days ago.)

Where is Bencic?

I guess its up to people on what matches they like to bet on however I don't understand why people bet on these tournaments. I know the odds can be enticing but its just too risky in my opinion. Yes we can say this for all sports however I think its best to bet in Grand Slam tournaments as there seems to be less upsets then any of the other tournaments.
You are right in sense.

Big players don't take these small tournaments that much seriously hence we see unpredicted results. But this kind of tournaments are good for the young players who are knocking at the door with possibilities to showcase their talents.

Correct, it's really up to the person on what matches he/she would like to bet, specially if the odd are that great. I guess this kind of tournaments is also good to gauge your analysis to an extend, but obviously upsets to happen in small tournaments.

@Royse777 - please continue to place your bets here, there's nothing wrong with it, as I have said, it's depends on the individual, whether to tail you or not.

Correct, but in any case, I will also pick McDonald here, but I guess Sonego has other plans. Of course, this qualifying round will produce a lot of surprises so it's hard to put a bet and I usually pass on it. But knowing @Royse777, he really loves to bet on tennis game so goodluck on the next round.  Grin
I lost the 3 fold for McDonald. In both set, he was playing well but in the final games he collapsed. Unlucky me and another user who PMed me he also risked some money after seeing my prediction.

I would like to clear this to the community that, I am not a professional tipster. The predictions I post are just for fun. I love risking money and love sharing it with the community. Please please do not place any bet based on my prediction. I felt bad for that user last night.

Please be responsible with your money.

Cheers :-)

I am waiting for three matches which I am going to place a three fold.

Albot R. vs Krueger M.: Albot
Auger-Aliassime F. vs Lorenzi P. : Auger-Aliassime
McDonald M. vs Sonego L. : McDonald

What do you guys think?

Edit:

Come on McDonald. He just broke the 7th game of 2nd set after losing his first serve of the 2nd set (2nd game). Now he is going to serve. Hope he equalize. First set was unfortunate for him
I guess McDonald was a risky pick considering the recent form of both players. On the paper McDonald should definitely outclass Sonego but seems like Sonego is playing some better tennis right now since I'm last tournament he beat players like Chardy J. or Harisson R. Thats why I don't like to place bets in early rounds of big tournaments, especially in qualifying rounds. A lot of surprises appear there. Congrats for the other two picks.

Miami is a tournament which have qualifier matches and they are very hard to decide who will be the winner at the end the match.
So might be a better idea to look how each player is performing then decide who you believe has a stronger game for the day between the two.

Well in the final Federer lost and also Kerber lost from the women side.

Thiem had an excellent tour. Lucky me that I did not bet in the final or I would go with Federer. I did have a bet for Kerber to win in final, Thiem to win in semi and Federer to win in semi. The last two were ok but Kerber lost the final and with that I lost my bet LOL.

By the way, Andreescu is playing in WTA Miami. She has a match tomorrow against Begu who is 70 in ranking.  Andreescu should get an easy win after winning the Indian Wells title.

I have a small amount for her already ;-)
It was definitely a very surprising tournament and having federer losing just sealed the deal for the wackiest tournament I have ever seen up until the finals match for the mens.
I didnt even notice thiem until the quarterfinals cause during the past two years I have been watching his progress slowly going down hill.
But he has managed to sharpen his tennis awareness enough and strengthen it with experience to defeat the biggest name in the atp to date.
Kudos to him on an excellent match as well.

Not sure what you mean by Thiem slowly going down hill in the past 2 years. Actually he has been playing a lot better in the past year as this time last year he was in top form leading into the French Open. Did you miss the French Open final of last year? because Thiem made the final but just wasn't good enough to beat Nadal on the day however he did beat Nadal in a lead up tournament before the French Open so to say that he has been slowly going down hill is wrong in my opinion.

Maybe what he meant is that Thiem should have been winning more titles in the last two year but he is still young at 25 so there's a lot of progress in this kid. Winning against Federer is already a big accomplishment and moral booster for him, so I'm sure he will almost try to look for a trophy in every tournament he enters.

Yes, it was a rain-delayed tournament, lol, anyways, I was quite surprised to find out that James Blake is the tournament director.  Grin

Yeah you could be right, well hopefully now that Thiem has won his first ever Masters title that he will start winning more titles this year. Like a few of us have said he does seem to struggle a little on hard courts just like Nadal did early on in his career so if he can turn this around then he could then become that top player we believe he can be.

Unfortunately the miami wta matches are currently in a rain delay. And the mens side which should of started at 9 est this morning havent started either. So they might be rained out until tomorrow.

Yep, all Miami matches are postponed for same time tomorrow. I played a nice little treble today and looked forward to watch how it played out. On the good side of news weather should be nice for the rest of the weak in Miami so no more postponement.

@Royse777 - too bad my friend, our predictions are all wrong, so I also lost.  Grin
Yh I know. It hurts LOL

By the way I was able to create a 5 fold on the other day:
Quote
Mcdonald, Mackenzie - Polansky, Peter: Mcdonald, Mackenzie
Ramanathan, Ramkumar - Sonego, Lorenzo: Sonego, Lorenzo
Albot, Radu - Quinzi, Gianluigi: Albot, Radu
Rosol, Lukas - Tsonga, Jo-Wilfried: Tsonga, Jo-Wilfried

Begu, Irina-Camelia - Andreescu, Bianca Vanessa: Andreescu, Bianca Vanessa

I already won the first 4 now I am waiting for Begu vs Andreescu match. Andreescu should win it easily after the extraordinary performance in Indian Wells.

The only regret for me is that I put a shit lot of small amount of money LOL

I agree my friend, Nadal now needs to rest and be ready for the French Open.

It was great to see Thiem win his first ever Masters title, I also thought that once Federer won the first set that he would go onto winning his 6th title but Thiem was able to fight back and win. Like I said in a previous post, he is coming into form at around the same time he did last year just before the French Open. So can he go one better this year and win the French Open? I think he has a big chance if Nadal isn't 100% fit and a lot depends on Djokovic as well if he is in good form as it seems it has dropped off a little since the AO win.

Bianca Andreescu played a great match and deserved the win, it looks like we have a couple of great Women's players in the making with Andreescu and Osaka on the Women's side. Now like you said can Andreescu go on with this win and challenge for Grand Slam titles, she looks the goods to do so.

Yes, Nadal really need to listen to his body, we would like to see him in French Open 100% as he is the defending champion, and who is the runner up? Dominic Thiem.  Grin. So it will be so interesting to see the tournament as it looks like Federer and Nadal and Djokovic are really up against the best young talents that we have right now and it could really be the a lot of changes in the rankings at the end of the year.

Similar to womens side, a young 17 year old is on the rise, and then Osaka and lot of young ladies are vying for the top spot. Andreescu was really a shocker so let's see if he can be the young  Serena Williams who won this tournament as 17 years of age as well 20 years ago.

It was a shame to see Nadal pull out of his match with Federer due to that knee injury which continues to give him issues. I think it was the right decision as he would want to be fit and ready for the French Open so I can understand why he pulled out of his match against Federer. Lets just hope that he is right for the French Open as it wouldn't be the same if Nadal wasn't playing. So it will be Federer and Thiem in the final which should be a good match to watch as its veteran V young talent.

Yeah, we didn't see a great match for those two legendary players. So as we have suspected, his knees are not fully heal or maybe it just recurred, we don't know. But the point is that he really needs to really rest that knees otherwise if will just give him problems that might causes him to retire because of it.

Thiem defeated Federer,  3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Federer won the first set and I thought he will be going for his record 6th title. But Dominic came back, its a good win for this young guys. Federer fought hard but we can't deny that Thiem is really on the zone in this tournament. I think he just dropped 2 sets maybe one to Raonic and then to Federer, so mentally Thiem is very strong as well. Looks like we are also going to see lots of upsets, I reckon.

The Indian Wells Masters final for the Women's is live right now and we could be seeing an upset on the cards here with the young Bianca Andreescu winning the first set 4-6 and is fighting it out in the second set however Kerber is currently winning 4 games to 2 and looks like she could take out the second set. I'm waiting for the Federer/Thiem match which will be starting in around an hour from now.

And we have witnessed the final upset in the women's side as Bianca Andreescu winning 6-4 3-6 6-4 over Kerber. Remember I commented earlier wherein Serena at 17 years of age, 20 years ago defeated Graf in the finals. So it's like history repeating itself, is Andreescu the new face on womens side? Let's see if he can follow up with this win.
