It was a shame to see Nadal pull out of his match with Federer due to that knee injury which continues to give him issues. I think it was the right decision as he would want to be fit and ready for the French Open so I can understand why he pulled out of his match against Federer. Lets just hope that he is right for the French Open as it wouldn't be the same if Nadal wasn't playing. So it will be Federer and Thiem in the final which should be a good match to watch as its veteran V young talent.

Yeah, we didn't see a great match for those two legendary players. So as we have suspected, his knees are not fully heal or maybe it just recurred, we don't know. But the point is that he really needs to really rest that knees otherwise if will just give him problems that might causes him to retire because of it.

Thiem defeated Federer,  3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Federer won the first set and I thought he will be going for his record 6th title. But Dominic came back, its a good win for this young guys. Federer fought hard but we can't deny that Thiem is really on the zone in this tournament. I think he just dropped 2 sets maybe one to Raonic and then to Federer, so mentally Thiem is very strong as well. Looks like we are also going to see lots of upsets, I reckon.

The Indian Wells Masters final for the Women's is live right now and we could be seeing an upset on the cards here with the young Bianca Andreescu winning the first set 4-6 and is fighting it out in the second set however Kerber is currently winning 4 games to 2 and looks like she could take out the second set. I'm waiting for the Federer/Thiem match which will be starting in around an hour from now.

And we have witnessed the final upset in the women's side as Bianca Andreescu winning 6-4 3-6 6-4 over Kerber. Remember I commented earlier wherein Serena at 17 years of age, 20 years ago defeated Graf in the finals. So it's like history repeating itself, is Andreescu the new face on womens side? Let's see if he can follow up with this win.

Not a surprise with almost all the womens matches being upsets of players who were favored to win losing from the very beginning of the round of indian wells wit the top rated player oskana getting beat then it continued on from there. Undecided
So no surprise with the result of the one not winning a championship winning in todays final.

Both favorites to move on in their matches lost in the semis.
First bencic and everybody was saying she would go on to the finals. Then just now Theim beat raonic fairly easily although he wasnt favored to win.
The annoucer even mentioned this hasnt happened in the last 10 years of tennis where there are new names in this year tournaments advancing and not the more known ones moving on forward. Undecided

I was expecting Bencic to get past Kerber as well. Kerber hits way too many short balls but most of the WTA players are unable to take advantage of that. Bencic didnt play the first set well anyways and it costed her the match. Its going to be Andreescu vs Kerber. What a couple of weeks for Andreescu. Definitely wasnt expecting her to be in the finals of a Masters event. I'd probably lean towards Andreescu to win the finals but it might come down to experience. Kerber has been to the finals quite a lot of times and is very comfortable with it, How Andreescu deals with it is to see. I'll bet on the match live.
For Bencic I lost two bet. I was too confident about her. It broke my heart to see she lost against Kerber. I had one outright double and one double.

Outright double:
Federer and Bencic

And the other double was:
Bencic vs Kerber: Bencic
Thiem vs Raonic: Thiem

I'm just a casual fan of tennis but I love the women side and I was surprised to see Bencic losses against Kerber. Just like you guys, it seems that Bencic is unbeatable, although I think the Kerber has her number. Anyways, nice effort so I think Kerber will be the favourite now on the women's side.

Women's SF draw are already in, and here is the final four:

Bencic vs Kerber and Svitolina vs Andreescu. Bencic continue her magic winning against Pliskova. While Kerber defeated V. Williams. I'm predicting Svitolina vs Bencic in the finals. I'm picking Bencic because of her recent run again and it's hard to defeat someone with this kind of momentum that she got.

I already placed a double in outright betting LOL
Bencic and Federer :-P

So I am expecting, Bencic and Federer to win the titles. The odd is 8.71

My prediction is in Men final Thiem will face Federer but not sure about Bencic's opponent. However she is capable to win against anyone.

Indeed, every player who has a good playing career will have a huge potential to beat the odds. Most specially those top rising players whose been with fame as well as skills, like Nadal. Frederer is one of the best, but I am fanatic with Nadal's ability on hitting tennis ball that quick compared with best ones. However there were times they got lost, but in the long term games I knew it was time for them to recover their lost after all.

Now to see if the bencic lucky streak continues with going against kerber tonight.
I highly doubt it cause kerber has been in these finals before but this is her first semis being 22 years and not seeing her playing in one over the couple of past years Ive been watching these tournaments.
If we talk about experience in big matches the statistics show Kerber has the advantage here but give the recent form of Bencic you just can't go against her here. She's been exceptionally good in the last weeks beating opponents within top 5,the most important one being her win against Osaka in straight sets. I think this will be a close match, probably a 3 set match and I am alo expecting a tie break.

Nadal won his match although Karen had a ton load of aces in the match compared to rafas 1.
I think he ended up with 20 aces even though it went to straight sets.

In this one I see Nishioka eliminated by Kecmanovic but eventually Kecmanovic eliminated by Raonic. Whoever wins from Monfils vs Thiem, he will face Raonic. If this is Thiem then he is going to final :-)

On the other side I clearly can see Nadal vs Federer Semi. And I am not sure who will become the finalist. However I will prefer Federer.

I will be placing a three fold today:
Thiem
Federer
Nadal

So far you are looking good my friend however Nadal is in for a fight in his match even though he won the first set 6-7 in a tie break and was leading in the second set but Kecmanovic just broke back to equal 3-3 games each and is now on serve. Yes if Nadal wins it will be Federer/Nadal semi-final which I'm hoping to see. The Raonic/Thiem semi should be a good one as Thiem looks to have found his form again like he did around the same time last year heading into the French Open.

Yh, this was the first thing I spotted after leaving the bed LOL My three fold now tuned to a two fold and the odd is shit 1.27 where it used to over 3.5 or something which I can not remember.

Anyway, I think final will be in between Thiem and Federer. Let's see.

I will also go with D. Thiem against Monfils. H2H Thiem has the numbers. Nadal and Federer will eventually clash on semis. We do hope and we want to see them in the finals, nevertheless, either one of them has a good chance to win the title as both, specially Federer looks very good in this tournament. I also prefer Roger to go the finals and win the title.

Edit: Injury forces Gael Monfils to withdraw from BNP Paribas Open prior to match

We are seeing many upsets so far at the Indian Wells Masters on both sides, Women's and Men's with the top players losing to unseeded players and lower ranked players. Right now Federer is playing Edmund with Federer up 0-4 in the first set and looks in complete control of the match. The interesting match going on right now is the Hurkacz and Shapovalov match where either player can win late in the third set with Hurkacz leading 4-3 and is on serve trying to win game eight and make it 5-3.

I feel upsets are good for this sport as it boosts those unseeded players confidence for future tournaments, it’ll be interesting if one of those players makes it to semis or finals. The match between Federer vs Edmund was a really easy one for Federer, honestly I felt little disappointed that Edmund didn’t offer stiff competition to him. I had no doubt in my mind about Hurkacz winning the match, he’s deserved this victory there’s no doubt about this.

Definitely, we need some upsets, not just in Tennis but in all other sports as well. Otherwise, the game will be predictable and it's possible that the sports will die. I mentioned before the actual match between Federer and Edmund could be interesting, as I think that Edmund will offer something different, I think this is the first time the the two will face each other, so there is the possibility of upset. However, we have seen what had happened, Federer is too good even at this point in his career.

I agree that upsets are good for tennis and all sports in general but its not good for people betting which is why I don't bet on tennis that much in these tournaments. Grand Slams seem to be better to bet in but we also get upsets in GS as well so it does make it hard at times to bet.

In the first quarter final Raonic is currently leading winning the first set comfortably however the young Kecmanovic is fighting back in the second set but not sure if it will be enough to beat Raonic. Monfils v Thiem will be an interesting match to see, I'm thinking Thiem should get the win here.
