Yes two great wins by both Hurkacz and Rublev to be in the final.

The odds favour Rublev over Hurkacz, 1.53 v 2.50.

Personally I'm going with Rublev, he is the higher seed and is playing great eventhough
Hurkacz on his day can be brilliant.

On Korda, we see this kind of performance a few times this year where he plays great
in one match and gets beaten 'easier' in the following.

Fernandez vs Siniakova
Former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez signaled a return to form by reaching the final in Hong Kong. The Canadian racket has not lost a set, especially after her win over young starlet Andreeva. Siniakova, on the other hand, has been in fine form for some time and lost only one set in the final. The two players have met once before and it was Fernandez who won the match at the French Open. The conditions are different today and it's hard to go for a side bet.

Rublev vs Hurkacz
Rublev was in the same form in Shanghai as he was in the first part of the season. Rublev, who reached the final of the prestigious tournament without losing a set, especially against Dimitrov. Hurkacz, on the other hand, is a player who can produce some interesting results at this level and this week, despite some tough matches, he managed to reach the final. Rublev looked very good in the serve, forehand and backhand departments during the week and was less worn out than his opponent. He is close to victory here as well.

At WTA Zhengzhou Krejcikova will play Kasatkina and Paolini will meet Zheng in the semis tomorrow.

Krejcikova won her match against Lesia Tsurenko 6:3 (the Ukrainian veteran had to withdraw after the first set). It seems she had some pain in her back.

My bets for tomorrow will be (in bold):
Krejcikova v Kasatkina
Paolini v Zheng

A bit oversighted by nevertheless interesting WTA Hong Kong has also reached the semifinal stage:

Fernandez v Blinkova
Trevisan v Siniakova

Please pay attention there are Italian players in both tournaments. Is this the renaissance of the Italian WTA tennis? I remember the times of Sara Errani, Roberta Vinci, Flavia Pennetta etc... and now they have Paolini, Trevisan, Bronzetti... lots of talented young players.

He now faces Hurkacz in the semi final which is a hard one to predict. I think both players
are kind of on the same level.

This is Korda's first masters semi final! hard to believe!

Odds are: Hurkacz 1.83 - 1.91 Korda

The first semi-final is set. Dimitrov against Rublev. Both won in the quarter-finals with 2 sets each. Rublev is the favourite in this semi-final and he is also the favourite to win this Masters. But there were already been a lot surprises in this tournament and I am curious to see who will win the second semi-final. The odds are very similar and the form of the day will probably decide at the end.

The first semi final is Hurkacz v Korda and is going to be close, very close.

Second semi final is Dimitrov v Rublev. Dimitrov had a bit of a battle in the first set
tie break but won in two sets. Rublev won easily in two sets against Humbert, I
thought that was going to be closer.

Odds tomorrow on the send semi final are:
Dimitrov 2.35 - 1.59 Rublev
I think thats about right, Rublev should win but if Dimitrov can replicate his quarter final
performance he will post a bigger threat to Rublev.

I will be betting on Rublev in Rublev v Dimitrov. Dimitrov is playing possibly the best tournament of his entire career. Haven't seen him play so good in years. As to the second semifinal you're absolutely right - it will be damn close, therefore I won't be betting. Normally I'd say Hurkacz but Korda was just perfect during the whole tournament too. Hard to say really.
I expect Dimitrov to continue the performance same as what he had done against Alcaraz. As said Dimitrov is playing the best and I want him to win the title. In the other semifinal Korda vs Hurkacz we can't be sure of the winner. Korda had an awesome match against Ben Shelton and a match as this should be the finals. Possibly the finals will be between Dimitrov and Korda in my prediction, lets wait and see what happens.

The odds are equal between Korda and Hurkacz and i think this match can go either way. I think that it will be over games and that we will see a tie break for sure in this match. Still Korda might be tired from last match so i think im gonna go with Hubi and over games

Yeah, so it means Paolini and Kasatkina are through to the semis. Kasatkina was super lucky Ons Jabeur withdrew from a quarterfinal match. Kasatkina will have to play Krejcikova or Tsurenko (most likely Krejcikova) but Paolini is waiting for the winner of Kalinina v Zheng (under way now Zheng is leading 3:1).
I'd say Krejcikova beats Kasatkina in straight sets. Unless Krej starts over very slow and out of rhythm. Kasatkina's problem remains the same over the years. Her serve is easy pickings for top 5 WTA players. She just can't work on improving it. Krejcikova should take advantage of it right from the get-go. People seem to forget quite easily that Krejcikova is a grandslam champion.

Yeah I agree, but Kasatkina is an ex-top10 player. When I watch her play I'm like: "how in the world did she get this high in her career?". She plays like a total amateur but something in her style makes opponents stumble. Perhaps it's the spin and that she's not attacking just waiting for the opponent to err.

Meanwhile in WTA Zhengzhou, German veteran Laura Siegemund unexpectedly defeated Liudmila Samsonova of Russia in three sets: 3:6, 6:2, 6:1!
She played quite well by beating Samsonova which of course not many people predicted she would be able to win but unfortunately right now she is playing against Paolini in the quarterfinals and in the first set she wasn't able to win a single game, sometimes the second set can change but Paolini managed to get rid of Garcia has opportunity to go to the semifinals against Kalinina or the host players, while Kasatkina does not need to play in the quarterfinals to get to the semifinals after Ons Jabeur withdrew due to injury.

Dimitrov managed to take the first set via a tiebreak, this would probably have been a longer match if Jarry had managed to get the second set so that the match was decided via a deciding set, but it looks like Dimitrov is in very good shape after successfully defeating title favorite Alcaraz, so he has a better chance of getting to the semifinals.

... Marozsan...

Another player that should be watched closely... is strong performances against big players are a "sign" Wink

Yes, that is right. There were some surprises at this tournament. Marozsan is one of them. He won against Rinderknech, De Minaur and Ruud. But it was not enough against Hurkacz. He still managed to win the first set. But in sets 2 and 3 he had no more chances. Hurkacz is now in the semi-finals, either against Shelton or Korda. For this match (Shelton vs. Korda) there is no favourite, the odds are nearly the same.

That Shelton v Korda match was very close, it went to 3 sets with two tie breaks and
was very difficult in the third set to predict who was going to win. I'm happy for Korda TBH.

He now faces Hurkacz in the semi final which is a hard one to predict. I think both players
are kind of on the same level.

This is Korda's first masters semi final! hard to believe!

Odds are: Hurkacz 1.83 - 1.91 Korda

Really an intense match between these two players and a good match. Was expecting Shelton to win but just couldnt handle the presure in the end. Korda looks really good each game so i think he might go really far on this tournament and maybe even win it.

Shanghai quarterfinals today.

Maroszan v Hurkacz  This match has already ended Hurkacz won 4:6, 6:1, 6:3
Shelton v Korda  All-American derby my bet will be on a more hungry Shelton.
Dimitrov v Jarry  By bet will be on baby Fed as Jarry is not mature enough for later stages of Masters tournaments IMHO.
Humbert v Rublev Rublev is the only top 5 seed left in the draw. My bet will be on him, the Russian is in great form for the end of season.

Alcaraz v Dimitrov - Dimitrov did the job in 3 sets today. It was a match I saw and
I think Dimitrov is playing his best Tennis since a long time. He played some
stunning tennis and now faces Jarry.
I agree that Dimitrov played very good tennis yesterday and even though there was doubt that he would be able to beat Alcaraz especially when in the first set he failed to take it when he was already leading, and in the second and third sets he looked really good at serving so he got quite a lot of points from it, and with Alcaraz is eliminated so all the remaining players have an equal chance of winning, including Fábián Marozsán, the player with the lowest ranking in the quarterfinals.
Many of the top 10 players have been eliminated here, leaving only Andrey Rublev as the fifth seed remaining and yesterday he also managed to win against Tommy Paul which is quite convincing, could he be the champion of this tournament? Rublev is a player who has quite a lot of weapons but often finds it difficult to compete when playing in major tournaments.

...Sinner...Shelton...

I think Sinner at this point of the season is "tired" and not able to play the same tennis as usual.
He is struggling with injures and with not the perfect shape.
We have seen strong performance but... I don't think he is enough fit to play at "HIGHER" level in each tournament at least now. Probably he should improve physical condition in next years, he has a career ahead.

Shelton by the way is probably the next big player that could arose... This year was pretty disappointing against Djokovic but generally speaking he is able to play strong performances...

... Marozsan...

Yes these youngsters eventhough Sinner is a youngster too but a lot of experience are ones
to watch I think. Shelton was very strong.

Sinner has a ticket into the ATP Masters too so he has yet to play that tournament.

Another player of high profile got beaten by a veteran of the game today!

Hurkacz vs. Zhang: As I expected, the match went over three sets. Both won their service games very often while the opponent was not being able to score a point. In the two tiebreaks one could see that experience and good nerves are important. So Hurkacz won this match. In the next round, that is the quarter-final, he will play against Marozsan, who surprisingly bowled out Ruud of the tournament.
