start the season in the best possible way for Rublev (20 years old)!
he is in the final against Kevin Anderson in Doha.
For him it is already best ranking (32th) even losing! If he wins it is 29th.
Considering that many top players are injured or in bad shape, Rublev can easily enter in the top 10 this year.

No no, you are mistaken. Rublev was in final against Monfils in Doha. And he lost.
Anderson was in final of Pune against Simon. And he lost as well Cheesy
I've watched them both play mid last year and they were both playing good at that time.
How times have changed if they are losing now.
Are anybody a sure win now a days?
For bigger tournaments such as the Australian Open starting the next couple of weeks then we can start expecting those players to begin to step up their game.
Atleast I am hoping they will by that time it matters most.

Andy Murray will most likely not participate in the Australian Open.
It seems an operation is necessary for him.
He said he was very worried about his physical condition and that his career was at risk.

Yeah its a shame for Murray and also for the other top players that might be missing from this years Australian Open. Even Nick Kyrgios Australia's best Men's chance went down with an injury scare yesterday but he was able to play on and win his match. Federer will be hard to beat once again but hopefully one of the upcoming talents can make have a good tournament and maybe even challenge Federer.

Now it's official! both Nishikori and Murray will not participate in the Australian Open.
Both today declared their absence in the first Slam tournament of the season.
Unfortunately I expect other important absences.
Serena Williams is out too. I wasnt expecting Nishikori to win a slam this year but Murray had some home. He hasnt played well in a while though. Nishikori is good but he lacks the extra edge that the other Slam winners possess. Australian Open courts are pretty fast and should be suited to big servers generally. Lets see how it goes. Cant wait.

He is expected to be back on Kuyong Classic exhibition at 10 of January.
Let's see what happens.

the Australian Open are close and Federer seems the favorite especially for the physical conditions of his strongest opponents:
Murray, Djokovic, Nadal, Raonic, Nishikori and Wawrinka are in bad shape and maybe some of them will not participate.
A.zverev is not yet ready to win a slam tournament.
So Federer ,I think, he can win again this year and get closer to the first place in the atp ranking.

I am also looking forward to the Australian open. With the other top players (Nadal, Murray and Djokovic) injured, Federed has a great chance to win another grand slam! I am also looking forward to see Goffin back in action, he has had a brilliant 2017 and hopefully he can take another step in his career.

So, Nishikori is not playing Hopman Cup for Japan, a shame it would have been a good preparation ahead of the Australian Open. He has not played on the tour since August and will be quite rusty I believe, but he also has big support in Melbourne, I hope he'll go far this year.
Lot of good players struggling right now because of injuries , won't really blame Nishikori for not participating in Hopman Cup because his focus must be only on Australian Open . Hope Djokovic won't drop out because of elbow injury.
Injuries to tennis stars this year has been alot and most of them have not been playing a lot of grand slams. Roger Federer has been the lucky few who have not been injured throughout the year and that has enabled him to win a lot of grand slams this year.
I really don't think others injuries helped Federer to win grand slams this year , he was technically almost perfect and he was confident enough so I guess although if top players had played in grand slams the result would have been the same.

yes ,Federer did a great season playing at high levels, but it was all easier for him without Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka and Nishikori.
Unfortunately, the physical preparation is exasperated and compared to the past, injuries are more frequent.
I hope to see all the strongest players in good shape at the Australian open

Not really, Murray , Djokovic and Nishikori are still suffering from injuries so we won't be able to see all top players in top form this time too Sad

Hopman Cup 2018 , Vandeweghe v Pavlyuchenkova , the former leads 3-1 right now and looks strong but Pavlyuchenkova isn't a weak opponent she has got a good game too so I am gonna go for over 16.5 games @ 1.7 .
I watched the mixed doubles between Switzerland and Japan and the Japanese even though they lost the game made it very entertaining,  they won the first set by 4-2 whiles Federer and Bencic won the second set by 4-1 and though I didn't watch the last set in read that they won by 3-0 .
Right although Federer played casual tennis it was awesome Smiley Perfect day for Swiss on the first day of Hopman Cup 2018 . Hard luck for Japan but they played well too , lets hope the 2nd day is as much fun as 1st day.

Yes I'm really looking forward to the Australian Open, finally we have tennis back in Australia. Federer is strong favorite as most of his rivals have injury concerns or have not played for some time. Its most likely that Federer will win for the second year in a row but I would like to see Nick Kyrgios maybe challenge for the title as he now has a coach and he seems to be much better mentally now then previous years. So I hope he can go all the way.

I remember watching it last year and it was a toss up between Federer and Nadal. But after him winning it the way he did last time it showed what kind of competitor he really is and no body can beat him when he is healthy and in his top form when in the finals.
He wasn't exactly in good health as he asked for a medical timeout and then after that dominated the match but that is to be expected when a competitor such as himself gets that far into a competition such as this one.
Alot of those top players are missing this time around due to injury so I would go with Federer to win it again this AO tournament.
