Best year for him was when he won US Open against Nishikori, yes definitely Cilic play very well at AO but I think he will be hard to beat Roger who is tennis legend. It will be a reprise of Wimbledon final 2017.

Here are the official Australian Open semi-finals:

Cilic vs Edmund and Federer vs Chung.

-If Federer wins the tournament he will have a gap by Nadal of only 155 points! Federer is the only player who has not lost 1 set in this tournament.
-If Cilic reaches the final he will improve his best ranking going up to third place in the atp ranking.
-Obviously best ranking also for Chung and Edmund, currently they are both in the top 30 for the first time in their career.

After all surprises now Federer reached semifinals, he is having a great chance to win this title and improve his scores to reach Nadal. it was really bad luck for Nadal, but Cilic played a fantastic game. Now, all set for semifinals let's see what surprises we are going to see in semis.

My thoughts exactly! I did bet quite heavily in the last Grand Slam and I was sure Fedex still had one more win in him. But after many months break from tennis, I was lured back with Nadal and Djokovic's exit. I didn't bet on Federer today, reserving instead for a juicy @2.x on Edmund to beat Cilic and progress. But after today, it will be Federer all the way, lining up straight bets for my favourite Swiss guy at the moment.

A bet on Edmund to win before his semifinal progress would have been a cool 300/1 but I am thinking a small side bet at 26/1 is still very attractive. Wish I don't bet so heavily on underdogs but oh well =)

For me Edmund is the biggest surprise, Chung had some notable results in the past, and Cilic is where he should be based on the ranking and grand slam records.
Before Nadal, Cilic has passed following opponents: Pospisil (Cilic is always good vs. big servers), Sousa, Harrison, Carreno Busta (in this fast conditions Cilic was a solid favorite). I expected he would make some problems for Nadal early in the match but that he will not be able to keep up his game trough whole match. He actually impressed me with the level of play and of course Nadal injury helped in the end.

Going away to watch Federer a bit, it seems Berdych actually decided to play today so we could have a match on our hands

With the retirement of Nadal, the chances are getting higher and higher for Federer to retain the title! There is still some competition left with Cilic (and Edmund maybe), but normally Federer should win the Australian Open 2018!
I am looking forward to the match of Mertens vs Wozniacki. Wozniacki is the favorite, but the way Mertens is playing, nothing is easy anymore. I hope she can hold her nerves together.

Oop's Nadal out from this tournament. Cilic played fantastic innings he never gives up until the last set. I was expected this result when Cilic is paying 4th set but not expected that Nadal will retire and go. Congrats to Cilic and I hope Nadal will recover soon.

Though i wanted Federer to win the tournament,i also wanted him to face Nadal so that it could have made the victory even more awesome but it seems most of the major star players are out injured since last year and more are getting injured whiles playing. Hopefully Federer is able to successfully defend the title.

Yeah I didn't expect this either, I knew Chung would be a tough match up for Djokovic as Chung is in top form right now and to be honest he could beat any of the remaining players on his day. I think Chung is the dark horse to take this years Australia Open and I wouldn't be surprised to see him do it.

Now it's become very interesting, seriously I was shocked after Koren boy beating Djokovic in straight set, But still two legends are in the race Federer and Nadal I hope Nadal has a chance to win this trophy or else new faces may win.

Am still rooting for Federer for win the trophy again as he is the defending champion and he has been performing very well in the tournament and he is yet to lose even a single set so far in the tournament as a whole. They both have a chance of meeting each other in the finals if they are able to progress that far.

Maybe I am biased because I am from Croatia but I believe Cilic has a good chance of wining today against Nadal. I am at least hoping for a good showing and making Nadal earn his way trough. After that the winner will face Dimitrov I think and he is playing in a really good form. I am seeing Dimitrov as top candidate to reach finals from this side of the draw.

I think Cilic dosent have a chance against Nadal,Nadal is currently in good form destroying everybody,Cilic wont have a chance...
Also the winner from the match that plays Dimitrov will probobly be Over in the spread of gems.
