Wimbledon 2017  (03 July - 16 July) Prize Money Rises to £31.6M After Brexit Vote.

How much will players earn?

Winner             £2.2M
Finalist             £1.1M
Semi-finalist     £550K
Quarter-finalist £275K
Fourth-round    £147k
Third-round        £90k
Second-round     £57k
First-round         £35k

The winner will win £ 200,000 more than 2016

My brother and I was discussing about this a few weeks ago and I was stunned when he said that tennis players are getting this kind of amount now. I still thought that they are still getting small amount of paydays. I guess I'm just too old school then and haven't noticed the increase in the winning money now. Maybe this is the main reason why are they so many players 19 or 20 years old now and they are rising and trying to challenge the top dogs of tennis from men to women.

Betting on and going All-in on Theim today versus a no name player I never heard of before.
That is why I have him at -1.5 sets for better odds for this win. Cool
He is ranked number #3 in this tournament so he should not lose this one even by a set.
If not a win a straight sets. Smiley

Johanna Konta looks to be in good touch for Wimbledon. She has reached the semi-finals of the Nottingham Open.
She is the British #1 and people will expect a good showing from her in Wimbledon.
Konta has had a good season so far but I dont think she's got what it takes to win a slam. None of the British WTA contingent do(as of now). It would be nice to see some brits do well in Wimbledon though but, sadly I dont think any brit being in the best of form right now. Hopefully Jamie Murray in Mens doubles brings something home. Andy Murray seems to be struggling a little since the time Clay season started and Grass being really quick surface, doesnt help defensive styled players.

I am looking forward to watch her too . Wimbledon never fails to entertain us and hope the home-players play well which makes it more entertaining .

She is looking better and better. She has reached the finals of the Nottingham Open with a straight sets victory. This is her first finals in grass court and will be nice practice for Wimbledon.

I'm also watching her as well. It will be historic if win the Wimbledon this year. She is world no. 8 and I think she can vastly improved her rankings if she win at least a Majors this year. And yeah, I just read that she just reached the finals of Nottingham. She will face either Croat Donna Vekic or Czech Lucie Safarova on Sunday

The final is against the Croat Donna Vekic. Johanna Konta looks to be in good touch.
She has broken Vekic's serve early in the first set and should be the favourite to win this game,

You guys expectation went wrong in this Nottingham event Johanna Konta lost her finals against Croat Donna Vekic. Yes as you told she played well in the 1st set and she won that set by 6-2. After losing this set, D. Vekić played a fantastic game she won the 2nd and 3rd set by 7-6 and 7-5. Neck to neck game finally D. Vekić won this Nottingham title congrats.

The result was a shocker. Vekic is ranked 70 in the world. She came back strongly after losing the first set to Johanna Konta.
After Konta lost the tie breaker in the second set, she seemed to be under pressure all the time.

Just can't believe that Zverev lost another finals.
he bowed out early in the French Open and now got beat by another low low seeded player in Mueller.
I don't even think he had a over 100 in the world rankings. Undecided
From what I watched of him yesterday to get into today's final of the tournament in Stuttgart.

I used to always bet on Zverev but after today's loss I will never bet on him again.
Just so disappointed in him and his performance today. Cry
I once thought Alex Zverer is the new young superstar that have potential to replace legend like Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer, after he failed his recent grandslam and important matches, I changed my mind a little bit, he is kind of overrated. I don't know if we are pushing so hard on this guy, but we surely didn't make mistake about one thing, his performance was poor, doesn't seem to even trying, playing like match fixing, I hope he is not actually match fixing.

Me too , I had a bet on set handicap  just to be on safer and lost that too as he didn't even win one set Sad Congrats to Muller .
Just went for over 22.5 games @ 1.7 ( Pouille v Lopez ) .
I am pretty sure that pouille is going to win the game, not sure about the over/under but it is going to be an interesting game for sure.
At current odds I may go with you on over, just because Pouille usually ends up his games at a very high scores and almost always get into game 3.
Good luck!

Turned out to be a true stellar bet, both were pushing the game closer and both are quit close in skill, The game ended within 3 sets and the 23 games were achieved easily (33 Games!).
Right now, The game between Escobedo and Pospisil is the only big game remaining, I'd take Escobar +1.5, Although Pospisil is playing some of his best tennis, Escobedo is a strong foe that will at least win one set IMO and the current odds (3.00 vs 1.36 is just too good for Escobar) either ML or at least +1.5 sets.

Now they are playing Federer (almost 36 years old) and Haas (39 years old), a match between the 2 most experienced players in the ATP circuit!
Federer is preparing to try to win his 8th Wimbledon.
Federer lost to Haas Sad He had match point in the second set but failed to convert it . Haas is not a nobody in tennis , he is very experienced as you mentioned and really happy to see him win . Hope Federer comes back strong in Wimbledon .

This is Haas' fourth victory against Federer. So it is not totally unexpected. I think the result might have been different if it was a 5-setter.
Still, a setback for Federer's preparation for Wimbledon.

Federer did not play for almost 3 months, it is normal that he is not 100% of the shape.
I think it will be in the right shape for Wimbledon and will be surely one of the favorites.

Nadal can return to first place in the ranking after wimbledon!
Murray has to defend 2000 points (he won the tournament last year), while Nadal can only earn points since last year did not participate.
It would be amazing to see up to year, at first place Nadal and at second place Federer

Beginning of this year, he is in below 4th rank now 2nd place yes in next tournament he will reach 1st place. It is nice to see Nadal in 1st Rank. Last year many people told that Nadal time is over he wants to take retirement now what you say, guys? He is a simply amazing player. I love to watch his game.
Nadal is an amazing player, if he hasn't got any injury then will become the all time most grand slam Winning player, his speed, strength and techniques are just fantabulous, basically his return is so beautiful, hopefully Nadal will play more 3 or 4 years, so that we will be able to enjoy more fantastic game from Nadal.

LOL. As if Nadal got his second wind, and now performs like his younger self. I hope he and Federer will go out and win another trophy between the two. I have no doubt that with winning the Roland Garros, he put himself as the greatest clay court tennis player of all time. And yeah, I just hope he stays healthy so that we can still see him play more fantastic tennis.
I think Federer is choosing his tournaments wisely and Nadal should follow Federer's footstep next year or in a couple of years. I really hope we see Federer win the Wimbledon this time. There are some nextgen players popping up here and there and are gathering the experience. From next year on its going to be a lil hard for the greats as Thiem, Zverev, Kyrgios and others are really stepping up their game. Going to be really interesting next couple of years.

I think players are also evolving. Similar to 2000's when the likes of Federer and Williams sister arrived. Now the young guns you mentioned are upping their game and its just a matter of time that the "oldies" will be having a hard time defending their crowns because of this young player. So expect in the next years to come that we will have a new dominant male and female not named, Djokovic, Murray, Nadal and Federer.

Nadal has problems with injuries because of his approach to every game and tournament. It is not possible for human to play that explosive every point on a long therm. It is logically for some injuries to happened. Wimbledon is not his favorite surface although he won two titles there. Good thing for him is that he is in a great form and full of self confidence. That could help him to win it and get first place on ATP list. Also hard surface tournaments are coming. In the past he complain that there is so much tournaments on hard surface and it is very bad for everybody knees, especially for his knees(running for every ball). I can`t wait to see how he prepared him self for Wimbledon.
