The all time legend of clay strikes again, congratulations to Rafa Nadal. He really is a legend on this surface, let's see how he gets on soon during the grass season.

Incredible Rafa Nadal who wins the Roland Garros for the 10th time (2005,2006,2007,2008,2010,2011,2012,2013,2014,2017).
For the third time he wins the tournament without losing 1 set(2008,2010,2017).
Has lost only 35 games throughout the tournament (his personal record).

It is a great season for him, who is just waiting to return to the top in the ranking atp

There was only one man who truly deserved to win it once the joker had exhibited the tournament and Rafael is the God of clay he had to only win it. Salute to the playa who's given everything on the field and I am very happy to see him win it, he is the champ and the very f... G best. Ever since Roger form dipped his hasn't and that's a legend.

I am also very happy to see his winning movement, and he really deserves this cup. Before starting this tournament only, i was predicted that Nadal would win this cup. Finally, he made my dream true. What a straight match set he defeated Wawrinka. Suppose if Murray comes to finals means it will be a tough match against Nadal. When semis Wawrinka won that time only, i decided that Nadal will win this cup. Congratulation Nadal.

Next Slam on the Calender is Wimbledon isnt it? Its going to be very different from Clay surface. Grass is much faster and ball bounces very low on it. Cant wait to see Federer back in action on Grass. We've just witnessed King of Clay but now its time for God of tennis to showcase the elegant part of tennis. He's playing in Stuttgard up against an old rival in Tommy Hass, I think. Going to be a great start. Cant wait. Smiley

Edit: Tommy Hass or Hugues-Herbert, whoever goes through to the 2nd round.

He has shown himself to be the real king of the clay courts.I was hoping for an Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal final before Wawrinka demolished the scottish man, who is looking forward to Wimbledon.

I am waiting eagerly too because Federer will be back Smiley Grass is the favorite surface for Federer and would be interesting + fun to watch Nadal v Federer .

Wow. Just wow! Shocked

I didn't see such destruction of Stan Wawrinka in this years finals.
He didn't even manage to win a set.
I lost as much money as I bet for the entire week on just this match.
Had him with a handicap to win and could not even make that happen.

I don't know why I keep betting on a tennis finals match when I said I wouldn't ever since Federer beat Nadal earlier this year. Undecided
Nadal hasn't dropped a set in the entire tournament , he is in ultimate form and even Stan couldn't do anything . Sorry for your loss Sad

Nadal took down the first set 6-2 and broke Wawrinka's serve early in the 2nd set. Looks like it is going to be a straight sets, 3-0 win for Nadal. Stan the man's 100% in the finals run had to end here. You just cant try to hit past Nadal on clay. On any other surface, the tactic might have worked but not on Clay. Its too slow of a surface to get any balls past Nadal.
What a great dominant play by the "King of Clay" . Wawrinka was unable to do anything against Nadal as he thrashes him in straight sets . Many people thought Wawrinka can really do this but unfortunately its Nadal on the other side . COngrats to the 10 time French open champion Smiley

First set dominated by Nadal who easily won 6-2!
Nadal is in great shape and is very focused on this Roland Garros. It seems he will win easily 3-0

Nadal is the big favorite today. Until now, he only lost 29 games.
For me it will surely win, and will most likely win 3-0.
It would be the first player to win the Roland Garros 3 times without losing 1 set

Nadal is the master of clay & surely the all time great on this surface? Despite several bad injuries he has returned to the top few in the world rankings & for me there is no doubt he will become champion today.

The latest few males/females matches weren't a shock at all, Ostaplenka was the one deserving to advance with a solid performance and a great come-bacl ability as demonstrated around the tournament since game 1. Wawrinka's Comeback from 1-2 was impressive too, and Murray proven again he is not the actual #1 seed in performance.
Ostapenko deserves to win this GS because she didn't give up on her and her style of play . You can't see her not playing aggressive at any point of the time in the whole tournament . First match to finals , loose the first set or win it she always looked aggressive  Smiley Congrats to the 20 year old for winning the championship Smiley
Well, she won against tough oppositions and won the finals. Of course she won fair and square. I really wanted Halep to win. She hasn't won a Grand Slam yet and after her impressive quarterfinals performance, where she came back from being 3-6,1-5 down to win it, 3-6,7-6,6-0. Which has to be in the books for one of the biggest turnaround in tennis history. As crazy as it can get. Today its Rafael Nadal vs Stanislas Wawrinka. I have got to think that Rafael Nadal, after blazing through all the rounds, has to win the tourney that he has made it his own. Wawrinka will lose his 100% in the finals tag today.

Wawrinka game was a thriller, I don't think I seen such a tough game from him since beating Djoko few years ago "when he first made himself recognized", and in this game despite always being down, somehow made it through and grinded himself a win.

I sure want Stan Wawrinka to rise the trophy this time.
But it will be a daunting task for him to overcome Nadal's style of playing especially on clay.
His is the favorite to win it but then again..
so was Halep.
And look what happened there. Roll Eyes

Stan Wawrinka's shot making style is spectacular, to say the least. But there is something special between Nadal and clay.
If I am forced to pick a winner, I would still pick Nadal in this one.

Yeah, Halep till the middle of the second set kept the match under her control. Things got changed in a short when Ostapenko gave a aggressive play to turn the match towards her side. I too hope Wawrinka need to rise the trophy, I expect the strong play same as that he played against Andy Murray.
