Awesome win for Fognini to beat Nikoshiri in straight sets! Shocked
I picked him for winning set 2 (which was good odds at over 2.75) because I didn't think Ken would of been able to last long with his bad knee that he was suffering from yesterdays match where he was flat on his back inbetween match sets to get it worked on and massaged to continue on. But didn't think he would of lost so bad in the first set like that. Another seed gone. So only Federer and Nadal left to take out all the others out.
Good pick and yes Nishikori was struggling because of the injury , I feel bad for him because he is a great player . Also you forgot Kyrgios there , he is in ultimate form right now and has the ability to beat anyone .
Right now, Nadal is in a comfortable position to beat Sock.
Nadal beat Sock in straight sets 6 - 2, 6 - 3. It was one side game and expected the game. But the first match is really surprised, but bad luck Nikoshiri has beaten by Fognini in straight sets. Now the semi-final game b/w Nadal vs. Fognini is interesting. I think Nadal will reach finals. And still, 2 quarterfinal matches are left in that Federer qualify to semi's means final match Nadal vs. Federer.

Has everybody forgotten there is a women's part of this open?
Only see predictions on the men's final quarter finals and not the womans. Embarrassed
Watched two matches last night before the last match for the mens and they were good to watch too. Smiley

Yea he did but interesting matches are upfront in quarterfinals i did hope i can see swiss semis but not gonna happen

Fognini F. (Ita) - Nishikori K. (Jpn)
Nadal R. (Esp) - Sock J. (Usa)
Federer R. (Sui) - Berdych T. (Cze)
Zverev A. (Ger) - Kyrgios N. (Aus)

From all these pair think that only Nishikori have easy job, for me possible semis

Nishikori - Nadal
Federer - Kyrgios
Well all the matches are interesting especially Zverev v Kyrgios . I am going for this parlay and also I am gonna bet on over 22.5 games for Zverev v Kyrgios.

Can't believe Wawrinka got knocked out. Embarrassed
But with all the other top seeds he was the last one to go out of the top three to win this open.
Now there is just Nadal, Federer and Ken left to fight it out amongst themselves.

Well I had predicted almost the same thing , live betting.
Mannarino v Berdych . Miami Open Tennis Tournament
GO for over 19.5 games @ 1.75 as I think Mannarino will give a good fight in either one of the sets so probably he will win a set or atleast we can expect a tie breaker.

Federer and Nadal match was interesting but fortunately both managed to win in straight sets.

Match for Kenori was a tough one and i thought he was going to pull out at the beginning of the second set cause his leg was bothering him.
But the same thing happened to Federer from the Australian open's final match where he had to take a rest break all the time just before the final two sets in that match up with Nadal. And was looking like it was going to cause him to lose.
I do not think he will win his next match because of having this leg issue now.

I like to see Federer win this open but with Nick Kyrios playing well and Ken Nishikori playing better now it is hard to say who will win it.
I would like to see a Wawrinka and Federer finals and think Stan W will win it this time.
I do remember an all Swiss finals late last year.
Nishikori has chance to win this title, but I too like Federer wants to win this cup. There is a tough fight to get the cup don't know who will win. But I think Federer will reach the finals don't know he will win the finals or not. For me, it's become tough to predict the game results let's see what happen.
Well Nadal can be a great threat to Nishikori too because he has been defeated 9 times out of 11 by Nadal but its a new day and anything can happen but I still prefer Nadal over Nishikori because he proved us that he is mentally strong after he defeated Kohlscreiber.
To me, There's absolutely no contest between Nadal and Nishikori. Nadal is much much better than Nishi and also mentally Stronger. Even Tactically speaking Nadal has an edge over Nishikori. Nishi's fav and most reliable shot is backhand cross court and with Nadal's forehand + the spin he creates, nishi's backhand will become a little less reliable.
I am watching his match against Delbonis and he looks to be struggling against this lesser opponent.
So if they do at some point facing each other I don't see him fairing to good against Raf Nadal.
Not at all he doesn't seem to be matured enough and hasn't played long enough as Nadal has and not being in so many finals as Raf is also a disadvantage to him.
He can become another Micheal Chang but that will take time under his tutelage.

Donald Young playing well and he's up next against a streaky player in Benoit Paire. The odds are even for the players and I expect Donald Young to beat Paire in 3 sets. Will be a close match but Young has been much more all around performance and form in the recent tournaments.
Last time around I picked Donald Young to win in 3 sets, He did it in 2. I think Benoit Paire and Fognini hold a lot of similarities when it comes to mentality and playing style. Paire does hold much more explosive serves but Fognini is a lot better technically. My pick for today is Fabio Fognini to beat Donald Young. Fognini is 0-2 on h2h against Donald Young but this time around he's playing better and to me, he's much more talented than Young in the ground strokes department which will be key today. If Fognini's mentality is right, he should be able to win in 2 sets.

Only got to see Wawrinka's match last night and it was an easy one he had and won in straight set without any issues getting past him.
Is Stan ranked #1 in the world now?
I saw a 1 besides his name while watching it and thought to myself that must just mean for this tournament.
 Grin
No he is not #1 in the world , he is #1 seed in Miami tournament that's it . He is #1 because both Djokovic and Murray aren't playing in the tournament .

Yea Nadal is also a strong player, and he has very good records against Nishikori, If these two players meet each other then sure Nadal have a chance to win the game, But if it not happens Don't know what will happen. I have doubt that Nadal will reach finals or not. As I told in this tournament, my fav player is Federer.

In the lower half of the draw, Nadal and Nishikori have an easy route up to the clash in the semifinals.

In the top half of the draw, Wawrinka can find at the quarterfinals Goffin or Kyrgios, instead who win between Federer and Del Potro reach the semi finals easily.

Its most likely that this will happen. If Nadal does meet Nishikori, I think its easy for Nadal to beat him. Nishikori has always had a hard time cracking top 4 players and his struggle will most likely continue. Kyrgios will most likely beat Goffin and in the semi's it will be a hard battle between Kyrgios and Wawrinka. Cant wait for Del Potro vs Federer match up.
Roger Federer won the battle easily, no matter how hard Del Potro try to attack, Federer always manage to return it perfectly. Before winning the Australia Open, Roger Federer was ranked around no.20, now he is no.6 in atp world ranking. How thing can turn so fast, I think he is chasing the no.1 back and he will get it. 35 years old, but never looking older.
