Almost all favorites are won.
Few surprises:
the defeat of M. Zverev against Napolitano, the defeat of Simon against Basilashvili, the defeat of Sock   against Vesely and mostly the defeat of Delbonis against Kravchuk.

I had my bet on Napolitano + 1.5 sets pre-live as I guessed Zverev would struggle against him . I am shocked to see Simon loose though , I expected him to atleast make it to third round .
Kyrgios got great odds but he is suffering from an injury itseems .

I'm also picking Kyrigos in his match today, his performance is of a top player recently and I can see him advancing to at least the round of 16/8 if he doesn't meet one of the top seeds.
Kerber isn't a 1st seed at all, not just this tournament, she struggles in games like a challenger player playing in a grand slam.

Roland Garros meets women with Elena Vesnina and Beatriz Haddad Maia. I think Haddad will take the first set and win the game. Haddad has been a better player and has made a lot of progress in the past few months. It is in fantastic form. Expecting Haddad's easy victory.

My today's bets ->
Zverev v Verdasco  . Zverev -1.5 sets
Kyrgios to win the match against Kohlschriber

parlay these to get 2.19 odds.

WTA's "World No.1" Angelique Kerber" bows out in the 1st round of the French Open. It seems like the current World no.1's are possibly the least dominant no.1's in recent years. When you look at ATP and WTA at once. I dont think Murray has a shot at winning French Open or even get to the semi's. Lets see how it goes.

PS: I said World rankings and not Seeds for the tournament. Both are different things. (Just to avoid confusion).
Yes and very disappointing , she was in great touch and was dominant on clay but now knocked out in first round . Hope Nadal goes through without any problems . I am waiting for Thiem match Smiley

Nadal can easily go through to semi-finals since no top 5 players are in the draw before that Smiley I am waiting for the tournament to start . I will go for Nadal to win the tournament as he is the big favorite and he is in good form.

Here are the possible quarter-finals of the Roland Garros:

Murray/Del Potro vs Nishikori/ A. Zverev
Wawrinka vs Cilic/Tsonga/Kyrgios

Nadal     vs Raonic/Dimitrov
Djokovic vs Thiem/Goffin

At the top of the board there are so many strong players and there may be so many surprises.
Djokovic and Nadal have easy draws up to the quarter-finals and they could stand in the semi-finals.

I just have to remind all the people that one old man is still here and for sure will have something to say and show. People exclude Roger with no reason. He already bit Rafa three times in a row and won three titles. Having a break form competition on clay will make him ready and fresh for his favorite surfaces, grass and concrete.

It will be really good one battle in upcoming Roland Garros also Djokovic made yesterday first practice with Andre Agassi will this be turning point for him or just another attempt to be again number one. So far Nadal has shown most from all players this season and i must say i would be surprised if he not end this year as number one.

Points to defend at Roland Garros:

Djokovic 2000 points

Murray   1200 points

Wawrinka,Thiem 720 points

Goffin, Berdych, Gasquet. Ramos 360 points

Nishikori, Raonic 180 points

Nadal 90 points

Cilic 10 points

Federer, A. Zverev  0  points

Nadal is already virtually second in the ranking atp because he has to defend only 90 points while Djokovic 2000. If Nadal Wins the tournament will be second with a 2000-point gap from Murray. Zverev can climb so many positions because he does not have to defend any point

That means Nadal is very near to jump top 3 ATP ranking. If he wins this tournament, then Muray will be in deep trouble. He must play good tennis to save his 1st place. And the latest star Zverev I don't need to say anything about we see his performance how he is playing against top players. Now he is in top 10 I think within few months he will take place in top 5. Good luck Nadal and Zverev.

It`s good that Nadal was eliminated in quarter final against Thiem, he has a bit more time to recover his body and prepare him self better for Rolan Garos. He will be highly motivated and fresh for great achievement. Wish him all the best, but lets see first what`s gonna happened. There are two or three players who can make him problem...

The young Zverev wins the tournament in Rome and joins the top 10!
I think Nadal will be back in first place in the ranking atp especially if he succeeds in winning the Roland Garros

He also became the first player born in 90's to win the 1000 masters :0 . Nadal would have climbed to 3rd position if he managed to win in Italy but nevertheless he still can go up if he wins RG as you mentioned and he is the hot favorite Smiley More than anything , 10th grand slam , wow nobody can come close right now.

Great thing for young Zverev. He really is great player and by wining this tournament he showed us that he is ready for big results. I just don`t know how his height will effect on his career on long terms.
And for Rafa returning on first place on ATP rank, I don`t know about that. He is playing his best tennis now, I don`t think that he can do better than that. As we all know, he is clay master but clay season is over with RG and he will have much more hard time on gras and concrete. I think that he will never be first seeded again.
Height is a good factor/characteristic for a player in tennis . If you have observed , Isner who is 32 years old now and Karlovic who is 38 years are still playing well because of their serve ( which is because of their height ) . Zverev has all the thing which is needed for a class tennis player Smiley
Yes for tennis player height is really helps them to make a good serve. And it is big an advantage for that player. Young Zverev he is in amazing form now I think he will win some more title in this year. Come to Nadal matter now he is in 5th place, but I think this year end he will reach 1st position. Murray is in out of form now I think he will lev 1st place very soon to others.

Zverev is one of the most talented players and many people predict him great carrier. It mean he will take Grand Slam and Master titles.
Nature made everything proportional: if you are small you are fast and opposite. All the greatest players has almost the exact height. Beside their talent, I can assume that it is the most ideal height for tennis player. They can cover the court much better then shorter or taller ones. Isner, Karlovic... they are good players but not a great champions, witch everyone predict for Zverev to be,that is the point. No taller player has been a great champ so far, that why I am a bit skeptic. Will see..
