I even put €0.60 on Wawrinka when he had the lead in the tie break now Cheesy The odds were roughly 50 so why not... But it had to end as it had to end. Deserved win by Djokovic.

my hopes were to see Stan as in third set from beginning, but he had to let two sets easy and derail my bet
didn't thought that he can win, but to play hard at least

and he did that, but just in third set
playing on grass is possible even when you are not in great shape for good servers, but one can't expect to reach finals or something

Djokovic must have thought that this night is going to be a very relaxed night for him after taking a quick 2-0 lead in sets with little to no resistance from Wawrinka, but then Wawrinka was the old Wawrinka again and gave Djokovic a hard time to take home the 3rd set as well. For a second I was hoping that this could turn into a closer game much more than anyone could anticipate. I even put €0.60 on Wawrinka when he had the lead in the tie break now Cheesy The odds were roughly 50 so why not... But it had to end as it had to end. Deserved win by Djokovic.
Djokovic in the tie break was quite superior, he had the highest percentage of 65.5% among the other players. Apart from Wawrinka who is quite old he is also not that great on grass so there are not many opportunities for him to beat Djokovic on the surface who is also one of Djokovic's favorites
https://www.atptour.com/en/stats/win-loss-index/career/tiebreak/all/

Novak Djokovic did well in his previous matches. He was obviously the superior one. This also shows that how well he can perform under pressure. In the next match, he is going to play against Hurkacz. He should be able to win that match as well.

Zverev vs Berrettini, both players have the same weapon, namely serve and after taking a break in several tournaments due to injury Berrettini will again try to repeat his best performance two years ago by becoming a finalist, this match is very likely to be a match that lasts 5 sets.

Zverev is ahead compared to his opponent when it comes to head to head comparison. 4-1 in favour of Zverev. Berrettini is better compared to Zverev when it comes to serving though. Let's see how they can perform on grass. I will still say that Zverev is going to be the winner of this match.

Djokovic is just so good on grass. Without a sweat he beated Wawrinka in this match. He looks so good and might win easily the entire thing. I dont see anyone beating him in all of the matches. Even Alcaraz cannot beat when he is in his prime. This should honestly just be a walk in the park for Djokovic. 24 grand slam is just around the corner. Only one who can beat Djokovic now is himself honestly.

Tsitsipas vs Murray could be an interesting match. Everybody will cheer for Murray and as it is still early in the tournament, I think he can stand a chance. Tsitsipas is also not so consistent so there might some value on betting on Murray (or a handicap); need to check the odds.
The fight will take place today but I don't agree with you preferring Murray.
I think Tsitsipas will have more advantages and a chance to win because he is a player who is in 5th place, plus he is much younger than Murray.

On clay court Tsitsipas is my favourite and for this tournament he is still one of the favourites.
The winning bet option for Tsitsipas I still think it deserves to win.

I second that. They both surely deserve to win but Tsitsipas is much younger and arguably has more chances (some bookies don't think so). I hope everyone watched the Tsitsipas v Thiem thriller yesterday. That was a great 5 set match so intense wow.

Anyway, some exciting matches to watch today (my bet marked in bold):

Broady v Ruud
Murray v Tsitsipas
Zverev v Brouwer
Rublev v Karatsev
Medvedev v Mannarino
Etcheverry v Wawrinka
Cerundolo v Lehecka

Have fun watching and betting guys!  Cool

All my bets, except for the Ruud one won. I'm happy I didn't place a combo.

Wawrinka is 38 and overweight I don't think he can win Djokovic tonight. The match is already live: Djokovic won the opening set, now 1:0 in the second with an early break.

Does anyone fancy Murray's chances against Tsitsipas? Its just about to start in about
5 minutes, Is a mini bet on Murray a viable punt?

Murray - Serious experience, serious shot making but limited mobility v's
Tsitsipas - Serious
talent but poor current form and not a natural grass court player...

Just looked at the odds and Murray is favourite - 1.75 v 2.05 for Tsitsipas...

My two bets for todays matches won today,
Wawrinka beat Etcheverry but he unluckily plays Djokovic next.
and Bublik beat Wolf and moves on to play Marterer next so he should come through that one.
Not a surprise for Andy sees this tournament his home court advantage and said many times over he wanted to retire playing here as the final match of his tennis career.

But Murray vs Tsitsipas showed him being up 2 games to 1 game for Stefanos.

snip

I recon if play wasny suspended last night Andy wuold have won, he was really on top of his
game when he won that 3rd set and I kind of knew Tsitsipas would take that 4ts set on the resume today.

Wawrinka is playing Djokovic today, does he have what it takes to get one set today? Nadal and Federer aside, Wawrinka is probably worst player for Djokovic to play for, he took him two GS titles in finals, first RG, and year later US open, so rivalry is at highest

Has it not been a while? Wawrinka is 38 years old and will stop playing tennis in the next years. It is certainly great for him to play against Djokovic again. But I do not see much of a chance.

-----------
snip

Just watching this legendary match up now, it feels like a classic really. I caught a snippit
of an interview with Wawrinka before this match and he is very aware that he has little
chance of beating Djokovic but he is focussing on his performance, he doesnt mind losing
today/tomorrow but it has to be on a good level for him.

Its true that he is also in his Tennis twilight years but he has done remarkably well to get
back from being out for over a year and is actually competitive enough.

Some really unexpected results on Wimbledon so far, but it's a weird tournament from the start.
With constant rain and a lot of players out of form maybe I should of expected this.

Fucsovics might be a tricky one for Medvedev tomorrow, but I'm actually curious to see if Wawrinka can complicate things a little bit for Đoković tonight.

@bct_ail Mannarino will have the psychological edge here as he’s been the better player whenever these two have competed against each other but I equally believe that Medvedev would like to win and prove why he’s yet the best. Furthermore it’s difficult to wager on this match and if you’re yet wagering then the past matches record favour wagering on Mannarino but my gut feeling is saying that Medvedev would have improved and will beat him so don’t wager too much on this match.

Thank you for the link. You were right in guessing that Medvedev would win and you probably bet on it.

----------------

Berrettini won his match rather unspectacularly against De Minaur and will play against Zverev or Watanuki. The first set was very decent from Zverev. But in the second set he was not convincing. He had some discussions with the referee and that probably bothered him too much, so he lost set 2.

Zverev won the match so we will see a great duel between him and Berretini in the next round. Both players serve good so we might see a five set match between these two guys. Berretini won the match against De minaur pretty easily in straight sets and i think no body expected thet to happen so easily.

Did he get injured perhaps?
Ruud had a bit of treatment and after the treatment he wasn't really moving around that much, maybe it was an injury but it didn't seem like a serious injury but Broady managed to make the fifth set really just his game as it was quite strange Ruud couldn't take a game in the last set.

Medvedev managed to finish his postponed match quickly without allowing Mannarino to improve his game.
Another postponed match Tsitsipas vs Murray is still not played and this is one of the matches to look forward to, Murray is in the lead but postponement might change the game directions.

The first and second seeds will play their matches today but Alcaraz is their second match whereas Djokovic is lucky because this is his third match and he is the seed whose schedule has not been disrupted due to the rain.

Very disappointing to see these two top seeded player bow out so early.

Murray vs Tsitsipas: Bit of luch for Tsitsipas that Wimbledon only allows play until 11pm. So he has some time to recharge his batteries.

Another shocking result, this time from WTA: 16yo Mirra Andreeva knocked out 10th seed, ex World #2 and a Roland Garros champion Barbora Krejcikova 6:3, 4:0. I bet this is not the last time we hear about this teenage sensation during this Wimbledon.  Wink

I only read that Mirra Andreeva only won because Barbora Krejcikova gave up. But I have not been able to read why. Is she injured? She is supposed to play a tennis doubles match tonight.

I'm watching the match between Broady and Ruud. The match is going close as Broady won the first set, followed by two set wins from Ruud. Now again Broady have won the fourth set. Deciding set is going to be a tough fight as both have played well in each and every set as the points were 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-3. Each set have been played 40+ minutes which could've made the players tiresome. Broady is at his best as he had won the break point and leads the deciding set 1-0.

I just finished watching the whole game, Ruud was superb though but Broady was in a beast mode, he was so caculative and prdictive, his service were on point and he was so precise with his game play, he played to his strength (Being left handed), he forced Ruud to dance to his tune, he tactically brought up a build up play, his service consistency helped him made some point through Ace, he won some games to Nil, in summary, Broady played a mind game against Ruud, he made sure he dictated the play throughout. He was so Superb, i'm predicting him to end up the competition at least as a top 4 player, Broady!!!

That's a shocking result. ATP #4 is out of Wimbledon. I missed the match but I saw the result: Broady won the 5th set and it was a bagel! Was Ruud that bad in the deciding set? Did he get injured perhaps?

Ruud didn't get injured, Broady was just too smart and strategic, he Aced most of his service and then kept returning Ruud's service game to game, his level of confidence and determination was top notch i'll say.

yeah, Ruud did't play any match on grass before Wimbledon, and that was easy to spot today, while Broady is grass player, and showed his experience
nevertheless, it is hard to predict where Broady will end-up, he can lose next match

Wawrinka is in third round, nice to see, and we have real pleasure this evening, hopefully not changed to tomorrow, between Tsitsipas and Murray

Clay or not, Grassland or not, Broady was just way too superb today, Ruud having not to have played on grass for a while doesn't seem to be the main problem he faced today, Broady was just too strategic and outplayed him. We just all have to admit he deserved the win today and i predict him to go so far in the competition.

That doesn't make sense, if he hadn't played any match on grass before Wimbledon. In such scenario he shouldn't have won two sets inbetween, Ruud played really well and he wasn't able to give the best in the deciding set and lost 6-0.

What is going on with Tsitsipas and Andy Murray. Each have won a set and the third set going on. Both the sets have moved to the tie breaker and in the third set Murray is ahead with a break point win. Really surprised as Tsitsipas is struggling and the points were 63-77 77-62 3-2

Play got suspended immediately after Andy won the 3rd set 6:4. Right before the set point Andy slipped and fell. It looked like a real bad injury and he was in a lot of pain. He was holding his groin. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looked and Andy will be able to continue the match.
Injuries always a big problem. Today we were able to watch what an experience player will do. The aces were really awesome from Andy Murray. Even after the slip the way he completed the set is really nice. The injury shouldn't hurt him bad, the Surbiton Trophy and the Challenger Nottingham win have given him good confidence and kept himself trained to be strong in the Wimbledon.
