But still considering South Africa was still the number 3 team in tests I thought there would be a good competition. Now the thing is if number 3 team is losing from number 1 so miserably is there any kind of competition left in cricket? On Indian pitches Indians are like monster they can eat up the whole world XI all alone I think.
The ranking is just bull shit, just look at the last T20 series in Pakistan, they were the no one T20 team and Srilanka was ranked number seven and they destroyed Pakistan in all the matches and white washed the series. South Africa is having trouble with their batting line up after the retirement of their star players and they were not able to replace any of the players.

LOL... they were not able to replace the players, because all of them have migrated to other countries such as England, New Zealand, Australia. Some have even decided to represent the smaller nations such as Netherlands (Roelof van der Merwe, Wesley Barresi, Stephan Myburgh). Even those who stayed behind in South Africa, such as Dale Steyn have been given a raw deal by the team management.

The case with Pakistan is different. Despite the low salaries, the players are not migrating to the other countries. Well... a very few such as Fawad Ahmed and Imran Tahir have done that, but such cases are more of an exception rather than a norm. Pakistan still remains as one of the best teams in the T20 format and their player pool is producing a lot of promising players every year.
Actually Pakistan might look good in T20 but, recent loss at their own home ground that also from Sri Lanka (which people believe is the worst team in top 10 these days) has questioned the ability of Pakistan. They might have room for new promising players and even the Pakistan super league is providing platform for new players but inconsistency is not a quality of a best team. Maybe there is another side of this that it is making the game more competitive.

Yes obviously that was the first example that literally shook me and this is the second. I think if this is the case ICC should find a more appropriate way of ranking teams and providing ratings to them based on more recent performances taking span of 3 years is actually giving pretty falsified rankings moreover home matches should be given less weightage than away matches because teams do make favourable pitches for them in their countries.

Never expected such a performance from South African batsmen. Indian pitches aren't that difficult for bat on
It was an expected result as they were struggling with form for a long time and they were finding it difficult to bat against the Srilankan bowlers in South Africa and what do you expect, they will come to India and dominate the Indian bowlers, the present Indian team could challenge any team in the world as they have the best bowling line up in the history of Indian cricket and if the players are not in form any pitch will be difficult for the batsman Tongue.

Betting on India is a safe bet for years and that too if they are playing in India as they are dominating every opponent but T20 is different. South Africa has already lost 8 wickets and Elgar is injured and if he does not come back to bat just one more wicket will wrap up the match and the fielding has improved as there was a direct throw from Umesh Yadav in the first innings and now Nadeem Shocked.

South Africans should be happy about it. The torture is going to end very soon. Just one more wicket by the Indian bowlers and it is going to be all over. For South Africa this series was a very humiliating experience. They need to do something radical to stay afloat in international cricket. For a start, they can abolish the quota system, at least for the matches involving the senior team.

They had a few moments to cheer, such as the half-centuries from Keshav Maharaj and Dane Piedt. The lower order batsmen showed a lot of valor and spirit, when the top order surrendered without a fight. I am watching international cricket ever since I was a small kid. And I would say that this was the worst performance by any team in India. Even Zimbabwe had performed better than this when they toured India the last time.
If play would have continued for another hour we might have got our result today and 3 day win would have been a record for the Indian team against South Africa how much time do you think would match continue for tomorrow? 15 minutes? Half an hour? Maybe this would be the new thing on gamble tomorrow  Grin

Betting on India in ODI and test matches these days has become a legit way to earn bucks regularly. I earned decent amounts myself. They are basically the Barcelona or Man City or Liverpool of the Cricketing world these days.

Hamza , DeKock, Du Plessis and Bavuma are all out and score now stands 26/4  Roll Eyes and on top of that Elgar is retired hurt. I haven't followed the weather updates but it seems like the match is gonna be over very very soon since their main and experienced batsman are all gone and they still are trailing with a 300+ run margin;.
Klaasen just got out too. This feels like a T-20 match at this point. South Africa needs to reevaluate their strategies and replace majority of their team and name a new captain since Du plessis is doing a bad job currently though he is still an excellent batsman.

The South African players are doing a parade of honor to the dressing room and now they lost their 5th wicket and Elgar is retired hurt because he was hit in the helmet by a bouncer from Umesh Yadav and i feel really sad to see them struggle like this and that too in Indian pitches and no wonder Brain Lara commented that the current Indian bowling line up resembles the bowling attack of West Indies in the 80s and 90s which is a huge compliment from a player like Brain Lara and if you look at the statistics it is true.

Today the South African team has done the pavilion parade and still counting in their 2nd innings
The parade continues and hopefully they will take a long rest after this match Cheesy.

South Africa is struggling as they already lost a couple of wickets and luckily for them the match is stopped due to bad light, why is there a bad light in the area they are playing as we usually hear rain stopping the play most of time in India and this is the first time i am hearing bad light has stopped play hours before the scheduled stoppage and if there is rain in the next day and the entire day is washed out then South Africa can draw the match other than that i do not see a chance for them to prevent this defeat.

Already South Africa has lost the 2 wickets for 9 runs so it shows the current status of the South African team. I think they will not going to cross 200 runs mark so I hope the Indian team will be going to win the match with innings.

Today the South African team has done the pavilion parade and still counting in their 2nd innings, already they are loss the 4 wickets for 26 runs so it shows that the match going to end today  maybe or south Africa need big partnership to avoid the innings with loss, otherwise Indian going to win the match with an innings.

Wow another game with follow on enforced. Love the way India is dominating and that too without actual bowling attack. South Africa has a long way to go to make their team perfect.
In second innings now they are now one wicket down.  Roll Eyes
Quinton de Kock and Zubayr Hamza are back in the pavilion and both their stumps are rattled  Cheesy. Elgar and their captain Faf du Plessis are in the crease and they are only batman that can take this team to a good total and if they are not able to do that the match will most probably get over by tomorrow, with the weather condition in Ranchi i am expecting the light will be a problem and the play is likely to stop within an hour like the past two days.

I'm just happy that I didn't make the bet for a draw  Tongue

Initially, when I checked the score this afternoon, I was a happy to see the scorecard showing SA 15/2. I was thinking that rain washed away the morring sessions and was expecting that rain and bad weather would wipe out few more sessions resulting in a draw. That's when I saw the adjoining words "2nd innings".  Lips sealed

This is a terrible performance from South Africa.

I am shocked to see the score board, what is really happening with South Africa, they are forced to follow on and they already lost 4 wickets scoring just 26 runs and the Indian bowlers are bowling really well and i wonder what if Jasprit Bumrah was also in the team they will roll out the entire team below 100 runs Shocked. India is playing just two fast bowlers in this match and yet again Shami showed his class in the second innings once again by picking three wickets already.

Silly logic. You don't need to be a fan of a Cricket player just because he is the captain of your team. For example, I was never a fan of Sachin's captaincy when he captained India.
When Sachin was the captain none of the players were performing and all the pressure was him to produce runs all the time.

Not really a big fan other than the fact that he is, no no.. no...He was the captain of my national cricket team.

Ladies and Gents follow on coming soon .... SA 130/8

They are not in mood and it looks like they already gave up. Indians are not giving them any chance too. Seamers bowling bouncers, Fielders hitting the Stumps, Spinners turning the bowl on the same pitch, where SA's bowlers didn't find any movement at all except first hour in day one.

I can sympathize with Proteas's fans.
India is in a different league at the moment when compared to South Africa and I am surprised that not many were not expecting a whitewash considering how strong India is as a test nation these days.

The confidence of the Indian players are outstanding as they are dominating in all departments , Umesh Yadav is showing some improvements with his fielding and yesterday he played some big shots and he is bowling really well and there is a possibility he will be picked for the T20 matches and promote him in batting order, earlier India used to promote Javagal Srinath as a striker in ODI because he could blast the ball and there is nothing wrong in experimenting him  Wink.

Here you go Hamza is gone, he was looking good though. i have doubt if Bavuma can play big inning for proteas. on the other hand Ashwin look rusty with his short spell.
They lost 6 wickets and they will be forced to follow on and India will be winning by an innings, the pitch is turning and the South African players are finding it difficult to face the spinners.

Speaking of Kallis. everyone rates him very high and rightly so. i just leave it here.
probably the best all rounder the world have seen, he can do everything except being a keeper, good defense and if he wants to accelerate he can do that too and one of the best slip fielders and can bowl for a very long time and when he debuted for South Africa he was able to bowl really fast and with time he added variations.
Never expected such a performance from South African batsmen. Indian pitches aren't that difficult for bat on even if you hail from South Africa moreover not only spin 3 wickets are taken by pacers so South African batting is struggling considerably. A clean sweep for India in this series would be a real morale booster and gap between number 1 and number 2 will be further widened.

Not the days start SA would have wanted and just they are falling like the pack of cards and due to which they have lost 8 wickets and just a score of 136 and still behind by 350+ runs . So they will get a follow on and will have to come to bat again today .
