This Day/night Test will be interesting and also it can be done in a close roof ground.
Maybe. Maybe not. I doubt this will draw in more viewers though, but they are trying their best which is good to see. I would love to see the return of Rest of the World vs Asia style matches. Those were epic.

Well i guess, i am the only fanatic here  Undecided my one screen is reserved for the Test game. whenever i am at work or at home. i enjoy commentary most and try not to miss any conversation, i even watched IND VS WI games despite different time zone. had to reschedule my daily routine but it was worth it.
Damn. You could probably become a great Cricket tipster. Have you ever tried it? You could make a killing if your ROI is great in the long-term.

I would take it as a compliment if it was told to me.

Watching cricket is a luxury and most of us can not just afford to have this luxury. It's not that cricket is boring it's the busy life we have. Kids, office, business, social gathering etc turns out to be more important than cricket as we grow up.

You are lucky that your office has the setup to watch sports like cricket.

I can't remember the last time I actually watched a test match to be honest. Its been ages. I usually only check out the highlights through ICC and other channels on Youtube and other such channels.
Sorry, don't get me wrong. I did not mean that I watch every ball of the Test matches. I miss sessions, even days of the test matches. But yes, I keep myself content updated with the scores and actually depending on the score I turn on the tv.

Not missing a ball was a habit when I was very young. If I can recall then in the college life.

This Day/night Test will be interesting and also it can be done in a close roof ground.

I am in favor of Day-night test too. but there are some small complication because of ball type. will try to give some details soon.

Day/night test matches look to stay as there has been one played in Australia for the past few years now and it has been a success even though at times it can be a challenge for the batsman to play but then at the same time it gives the bowlers a chance if the wicket is a batting wicket. I do think that it should remain just one day/night test match each series as it offers something different for the fans and players.

Day/night test matches suits a lot of people, as they don't get enough spare time to go to the stadiums as a result of the hectic lifestyle. Very few people can afford the luxury of watching a match that lasts 5 days.Today, people are left with less amount of spare time and increasing level of debt (especially from the mortgage). 35-hour weeks and 40-hour weeks are fast becoming distant memory, with average working hours per week rising to 60-70 hours per week in countries such as South Korea and Japan. Under such circumstances, the only way for test cricket to survive is to allow people to watch the game once their work shift is over. And this is one of the reasons why T20 matches are getting popular now. Most of them start after 7pm or 8pm, and lasts no more than 3 hours.

Test cricket with red ball is the oldest form of cricket and it should not be changed.
There is nothing wrong in experimenting, after all it is a game of cricket and Test matches are a dying breed as no one has the time and patience to watch a match for five days, all i do is to watch the highlights and that too if there is a special performance, life does not give too much free time to spare for a sporting event like that and if they can schedule day night matches for Test, you might see people coming into the stadiums.
I agree nothing wrong but bringing some new things can make more interested and boards can manage more revenue with them as now time is going very fast and we have not enough time for this type game if they done for more interest and Day Night test is also one of best for generating more revenue.

One good edition could be regular use of Pink ball cricket - Day Night Test match, so that regular peeps can visit stadium after work for at least 2-3 hours. it can surely help with revenue and attracting more crowd in the ground.

Day- night test match could be one if the option which could be explored as I think we had one such match of not mistaken . This will right have more people as after work right said some of them can come just to have couple of hours as a rest time .

Test cricket with red ball is the oldest form of cricket and it should not be changed. We already have so many new versions of cricket like one day, T20 etc for the ones who needs quick entertainment. But for those who are the real lovers of test matches, we should not change any format not even day n night tests with white ball.

I still watch test match between Australia - England, Australia - India, India - England, South Africa - India - Australia - England, in times New Zealand with all those four test nations. They are not boring to watch.

T-20 matches(Especially the IPL) are what I usually watch from start to finish whenever I find the time these days. This format is truly the best format in my opinion in the Cricketing world(Entertainment etc).

Test matches from these teams were quite interesting to watch. These days matches of Bangladesh too getting more interesting, because they are giving tough competence. I never meant the match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. I used to watch the test matches of Pakistan, particularly until the wicket of Mohammed Yousuf. These days there is no player as strong as him.

Long wait for the 5th and final Ashes test match, which will start tomorrow at the Oval... for me I am most interested in the final tally of Steve Smith. So far he has 671 runs from 3 tests (that is more than 220 runs per test)... and I believe that there is a small chance of him scoring another 329 runs in the 5th test to become the first player in the history to score 1,000 runs in the Ashes.

BTW, an unofficial test between India A and South Africa A is going on... India seems to be in good position thanks to a fighting 90 by Shubman Gill and a brisk 61 by Jalaj S Saxena. South African batting collapsed in both the innings, despite having a star studded lineup (Wiaan Mulder, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen.etc). The Indian bowlers were also good, especially Shardul Thakur and Krishnappa Gowtham.

Soon they may have to restructure the test format in order to attract more people get interested in watching this game . Something like 1 innings only and 3 -4 days of the test match . This will have result as well . Something on this format they will need to think .
I do't think anyone will watch 1 innings test match, cause it will be more monotonous, I think. 3 days test is still there if I am correct, for ex. check the practice test match between Australia vs England A or something else. If I can remember correctly, we have seen 3 days international match as well (may be I am wrong).

BTW I love that ICC is kinda giving a weight to Test format now.  Smiley
Test Championship is a plan from couple of years ago, it's because test format is in threat. People don't watch, enjoy it much because of t20 most probably. You can see the affect too. Some players already have gone retired from test even they have the age. Test championship is for motivating players and bringing back excitement into test.

Welcome back Royse bro.

Have you checked how much series will each team play? I think each team will have the same amount of series, so matches don't count here as per your previous calculation. It would be better if the ICC put the same number of matches for each team.
By the way, I think Ban vs Afg match is out of the count since this series had only one test.

The number of series played by each team are the same: 6. But still some teams like England are getting more chances of getting points. Whoever has set this schedule is a weirdo. Ind directly earned 120 points while Aus earned 56 by winning same number of matches.

Tomorrow even if Aus wins, they'll be at 80 points after winning 3 matches out of 5. Only 2 series matches are beneficial as you can directly earn 60 points but rain and the weather can just ruin the chances and matches may end up in a draw.

Interesting. Was it the Bermuda Triangle by any chance? Kidding! Great to enjoy nature when its peaceful and I can vouch for that.
They say nothing comes back from Bermuda Triangle but here I am. It was somewhere in South Asia, food was delicious.

Sad that the future generations might not be able to enjoy in the same manner thanks to global warming.
It really is alarming. We need to go green very soon in everything if possible.

Your recent multi-bets are all winning bets. You need to place parlay bets(3 fold or 4 fold) more often since you seem to be good at winning them. Risky, but worth it with small amounts.
All depends on the matches that are in scheduled. In football especially in leagues there are many options, many matches but in cricket not many mach in the same day or week.
