I know. It's the same crazy level like not to have bowlers but bowling machines :-P

He also had a past where on his bowling four sixes were hit and Engalnd lost the cup.
I will remember him as a Batsman not Bowler. These two innings made him legend.

The last thing I read was to give the youngsters a chance to prove themselves. It was hard to digest but if that is true then seems like it worked however bowler like Starc is very effective to wrap up the tail of an inning.

^ Not sure if it's about giving youngsters a chance. Starc and Siddle almost belong to the Same batch, and Hazlewood also used to play under Micheal Clark's captaincy, so he's not young gun anymore. James Pattinson played less cricket, but he also debut in test cricket around 2011-2012.

About umpiring: I think it's time for an experimental call.

How about getting rid of human umpires and fully replace them with technology LOL. I know it sounds odd/crazy/unbelievable/shocking but if human umpire keeps giving bad decisions and ruin matches after matches then what's the point to have one!

That Ben Stokes batting performance was something special, wasn’t it. He was amazing in the World acup too, what a player. Two tests left in the Ashes now & it really is up for grabs.

No doubt one of the best all rounders at this point if to be considered Ben strokes name shoudl deifnately has to appear. World cup innings was something out of imagination considering the pressure was totally on him as he could only help England win the first ever world cup from their. He also had a past where on his bowling four sixes were hit and Engalnd lost the cup.

True, but I still failed to understand why he was kept out from the Playing XI from the start. Tried to look into details but couldn't any satisfactory answer.

Yeah, I also thunk that chances for Starc is very low. A bowler like Starc may never imagined that he will have difficult time even when he is in good form however the positive note here is that Australian bowling unit is at it's best with some very promising top class bowlers.

Luck + Poor Umpiring + Fumbles from opposition here and there  Lips sealed
I almost forgot about the umpiring. These days umpires are making too many mistakes. ICC really needs to do something about it.

ICC elite umpiring panel turning out to be a joke these days, I understand that there is always a chance of Human error in Umpiring but what Joel Wilson did in the last moments, ( LBW) was a sitter! one doesn't need to be elite umpire to figure that out. Call it pressure, bias, or error. But it was a shitty decision indeed.

One question is getting around in my head - Will we see Starc in any of the matches in this Ashes?

Its a biggie Cheesy Australian bowlers didn't perform poorly in the last game per se. They only failed to get 10th wicket which cost the match, so I think Starc likely to sit out for next game too.

In sports, luck plays a big role and I think this year we are seeing luck is favoring too much for England and it's Stokes always playing monster innings. So, if luck combined with Stokes miraculous innings continue then may be we will see England is going to regain the Ashes or the job is too hard.

I think the tough thing for England is that to regain the Ashes they have to win it outright. We are at 1-1 right now with 1 draw. Two Tests to go, England will have to win both or win 1 & draw the other. If ENG & AUS were to win 1 each of the remaining 2 then AUS retain the urn.

Stokes is a marvelous players but it was luck that made them win this time too. The 10th wicket was able to hold the game for 17 balls without being out while Ben Stokes made the necessary runs. Overall English team seems in poorer form than the AUS team. It would be difficult for the English team to win this series from here.

Cricket (in fact all sports) is all about momentum and mindset. This win is a huge boost for English team and if they can capitalize this boost then we may see England will win this Ashes. There are still plenty of time left for the next Test and I hope both team will prepare to give their best.

I lost around 30% of my bet all thanks to Sri Lanka and their pathetic batting performance. I still can't understand why Karunaratne came down the order. Anyway, if someone actually followed your tip(Including draw with good odds), they could have made bank.
I assume you cashed out at some point? Sorry to here the lose percentage bud.

I personally had a ton of fun playing around with this bet. England winning was a true shocker indeed, but Oz will probably come back strongly in the next match.
This Test match was in Australia's favor all the time. After losing their grip (England) in the first innings everyone in the world thought they are going to lose. Whatever the hope left that washed away when they lost their 9th wicket in the 2nd innings but that innings from Stokes was not in anyone's calculation. I thought all the time that I picked a losing slip but eventually I got a winning one and I am glad for that.

Since it was a 2 fold so choosing win or daw was a safe bet I thought.

England to win or draw (WIN, it was impossible)
India to win or draw (win)
New Zealand to win or draw (win)

Result: WIN (3 fold)

If anyone used it then congratulations. I did not gambled for the record LOL

We had wonderful 5 days of the test match as allt he 3 matches of India-WI, Eng - Aus and NZ - SL started on the same day and though rain had effected some part of the match but finally if we see we had result of all the three matches. Though India only won one sided match the rest 2 of the matches their was intent and team had to get the best in order to beat other in order to win the test match. But most interesting was Ashes out of the 3 matches.

Royce's Merit Source Application

Guys Royse has applied for Merit source. You guys already know how helpful he is. If it wasn't for him then some of us still struggling to achieve FM, Junior, Member rank so please support this guy.
Truly good of your mentality to support an user who has contributed to the forum. Even Royse777 hasn't mentioned of the merit source request, but you've made it visible to the active persons of gambling discussions. What I mention here might be out of the thread subject, but I wish to appreciate JSRAW and Royse777.

You maybe right but who told Aussies to waste a review on a ball which was clearly Not Out. If Aussie had that review, they could have taken it.
At the end of the day, it is the result which matters the most and what do you say about the innings from stokes ?
You cannot deny that luck favors the brave.

Australians wasted both of their reviews during the second innings. I am not going to counter that fact. But at the same time, Joel Wilson was performing poorly during the first test match and still he was given the duty for the third match. His other decisions during the match was OK, but his one decision at the crucial time cost Australia the match. And most importantly, it gave a breather for England and allowed them to level the series, when Australia could have been leading 2-0 by now. Umpires are also humans and sometimes they do make mistakes. But mistakes of this magnitude is very rare, especially for someone who is a part of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires.

I must say I am one of the unfortunate guy who missed to watch the end of Australia vs England Test. When it was obvious that England was losing and Australia needed only one wicket, I gave up watching it. There were nothing interesting left to follow anymore. I went out of the town and totally had a blank mind about the Test. Did not even follow the scores or talked to anybody about it. But later when I heard that England won(!) I was just speechless. I could not believe it. I will have this regret that I missed to see this phenomenal innings from Stokes and to feel the excitement of the live match. I only can imagine the density of the innings and wonder myself was it really possible? Cricket is at it's best. Thanks Stokes.

Now back to my tip (days ago before all three Test to start):

England to win or draw (WIN, it was impossible)
India to win or draw (win)
New Zealand to win or draw (win)

Result: WIN (3 fold)

If anyone used it then congratulations. I did not gambled for the record LOL

Just be fair with the umpires. They are also human beings. You know this decision can make or break the match for the home crowd. The match pressure and the crowd pressure can also effect on the umpire and he gave the benefit of the doubt in this last moment lbw case. You have just a fraction of a second to declare Out or not out.
I will still insist England win was due to great innings by the Stokes and not by the help of umpires.

They are in the select panel for the umpires, which means that they are supposed to be the world's best. I would never expect such a horrible decision from someone at that level. I agree that they are humans and therefore we can't expect them to be 100% perfect. But my question is why only England benefits from such errors? Why no other team?

Shocking to see how WI collapsed before putting any fight against India.
India does have the best bowling unit and i already said earlier if there is any assistance from the pitch any batsman in the world will find it difficult to play against Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and for the talent of fast bowlers India does have right now is the best lineup they ever had historically and Bumrah is unplayable and he is the first Asian bowler to pick 5 wickets in an innings against major Test playing nations which is incredible.
