I could not watch the match between Australia and West Indies as I was busy watching England defeat India. I completed watching the highlight of the match and found out that after 27 years WI won a test against Australia in Gabba. Shamar Joseph got 7 wickets, and Tom Hartley took 7 wickets against India and both happened on the same day. A 22 year old and a 24 year old were responsible for winning the game for their team. Both are debutants and both have now made a name for themselves.

What a historic moment for the West Indies, big teams fail to defeat Australia in a test match on their home ground. This team which had a lot of debutants came out of their shell and defeated a team that was ranked as number 1 in test cricket. I am confident that we will see a lot of names popping up in the coming days from this West Indian side.

Defeating team like Australia and that too on there home ground is a big achievement for team like West Indies. This is also a lesson for teams like Pakistan who continue to have a whitewash on Australia tour for last two decades. If team like West Indies can beat them then rest of teams can also do that.
Shamar Joseph is a great discovery for West Indies. Made his debut in this series and what a series he has, he is also player of the series. He picked 5 wickets in first innings of first test and had a historic spell in second innings of second test. May be this is the beginning of another great era for West Indies cricket.

Muhammad Siraj bowled 4 overs in first innings and 7 in second innings. He is main pace bowler but wasn't given enough chance to bowl in the match. The other fast bowler was Bumrah, who bowled 8 overs in first innings and 16 in second innings. Indian scored 436 runs in first innings and there batting collapsed in second innings due to majestic bowling spell from Tom Hartley who picked 7 wickets. important 12 points for England as this test was part of ICC World Test Championship.
In the first Test match between India and England, India captain Rohit Sharma used more spin bowlers than fast bowlers. Md Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are both excellent fast bowlers yet they were allowed to bowl only twelve overs in total. I think the pitch in this Test match between India and England was spin-friendly with Rohit Sharma using the most of the spin bowlers to gain an added advantage. But Rohit Sharma's plan worked as they bowled out England for just 246 runs in the first innings.

Given his extended bowling spells, it was just a matter of time before Ravindra Jadeja got injured. Let's not forget the fact that he's already 35 years old. I would say the same thing about Ravichandran Ashwin as well, as he is 37 now. Jadeja bowled a total of 52 overs in the first test, followed by Ashwin at 50 overs. Axar and the seamers were underutilized by India. And it would be better if India goes to the second test with just one pace bowler. Mohammed Siraj bowled a total of 11 overs in the first test. What is the point in including him to the playing XI?

Here, Bumrah collected a total of six wickets in two matches. Bumrah gave a very good bowling performance but basically the Indian team was very strong in the first innings, due to the good batting performance they quickly scored more runs in the period. But the Indian team began to collapse under England's bowling Tom Hartley as he collected a total of nine wickets in the two matches, including 2 wickets in the first innings and 7 wickets in the second innings. This is where I think second innings wickets are the most important, England can win because of more wickets in the second innings.

9 wickets in the match is a great achievement, and hopefully, there will be more to come! Tom Hartley took 7 wickets in the second innings, leading to a remarkable victory to go 1-0 up in the five-match series. This win is as good as any I've seen in my lifetime. Pope's innings is right up there with the best too. After the 1st innings thrashing, he did a brilliant turnaround to win the game for his team. Pope and Hartley deserve all the praise. This has to be one of England’s greatest Test wins! The competition is on.

After seeing the first innings score of both india(436 runs) & England(246 runs) team, many of us thought that there will be no restriction for india to win this 1st test match against England. But when 2nd inning starter, Ollie Pope is the warrior who alone change the whole game himself, 196 runs scored by his bat only. I feel bad for him as he struggled from start to end of the match but miss his double century only for 4 runs. Nut still there was chance for India to win because they had giant score in 1st innings but unluckily no batsman performed well in 2nd innings. Legendary bowler Tom Hartley just stopped Indian players within 202 runs and he himself collected 7 wickets in 2nd innings which is epic.
Today India lost this 1 st game of test series which was played with England team and England won this game by 28 runs only  unfortunately India did not chase it. In first inning of India team was very outstanding but England team effort in first inning was very poor. In 1 st inning of England team, England scored 246 runs only and B.Stokes played very well and scored 70 runs in 88 balls with six 4s and three 6s. But India team easily chase down all this runs of England team and set 190 runs as trail. J.Jaiswal scored 80 runs in 74 balls, KL Rahul scored 86 runs in 123 balls and R.Jadega scored 87 runs in 180 balls. But India bowling effort in 2 nd inning was very poor and they did not break England batsman for low target and 2 nd inning of England team made 402 runs and india scored 202 runs only. O.Pope almost achieved double full century only 4 runs left for 2 nd century but dismissed by Jadega bowler. But he won player of game award.

Yesterday i saw the same drama in two different Test matches on two continents. Couldn't believe that India and Australia would lose at their home ground on such a target.

In almost three decades, yesterday's Test win will be history for the West Indies. Shamar Joseph, whose dream was to play first-class cricket even a year ago, within a year he made himself so that he got the opportunity to tour Australia in the test series, he is now the hero of making the history of Australia's slaughter on Australian soil. Joseph's bowling figures of 7/68 were truly magnificent.

Meanwhile, India couldn't score 231 runs with a strong batting line-up. Ollie Pope's individual runs in the second innings, all the Indian batsmen could not equal Ollie Pope's runs in the second innings. Tom Hartley's bowling figures 62/7 simply crushed India.

Indian batting lineup really disappointed all the Indian fans. We all thought that India will easily chase down the target after Pope’s brilliant batting in 3rd innings. But unexpected things really happened this time. Indian team really felt the pressure without the chase master Virat Kohli. Except Rohit Sharma none has batted well. I guess Indian team will rectify these errors in the upcoming games.
In the first test match of England vs India, England team was bowled out for just 246 runs in the first innings due to their batting failure. But in the second innings, England team performed very well and set India a target of 230 runs. When India was given a target of 230 runs, we thought that India might easily win. But England team won the first test match against India by 28 runs because of their excellent bowling by England team. Congratulations to England team. India lost the first Test match against England due to batting failure in India's second innings. Indian batsmen have really given a very disappointing performance. Apart from Rohit Sharma, no other Indian batsman could bat as well in the second innings which led to India losing by 28 runs against England.

In yesterday's match how Travis Head was out?
Shamar Joseph took the wicket of this magical player who is the killer of India's dreams. Shamar Joseph out him with a beauty and he gave a yorker around 141 kilometers per hour and Travis Head lifted the bat but nothing surprising here and he touched to his bat and went to the side of the slip but before going to the slip the wickets came in middle and the ball hits the off wickets and from this he was out. Shamar Joseph did that thing that all the Indian bowlers want to do at the final of the World Cup and test Championship.

I loved the last test match, despite us ending up on the losing side. It's been a while since someone tested the Indian team so for a change it was a nice experience.
Yeah. India loves choking these days and South Africa are probably happy about this. They slipped to the 5th position in the WTC table currently due to which they are under pressure to perform well in the upcoming matches.

Gill is also under a lot of pressure since he was given the spot of Pujara and hasn't lived to selectors expectations so far.

21 tests: 42 innings? How many more chances do you think he deserves? He is a great T20 and ODI player for sure, but he hasn't really performed consistently well in the test format which is why he is overhyped for sure.

He appeared in 39 test innings and so far with average of 29 he has scored only 2 centuries and 4 half centuries. I think he has been given adequate chances in test to prove himself. Gill got a golden chance to prove his test suitability in second innings but he missed that by getting out on duck. Indians just like Aussies got overconfident and that's why we saw Aussies and Indians losing game yesterday.

Bad news for India.

Rahul and Jadeja are ruled out from the 2nd test match due to quadriceps pain and hamstring respectively. Would have been better if Gill and Iyer were the injured ones lol Btw replacements are Sarfaraz (finally haha). Sundar and Saurabh Kumar.

It is a good news as the team management would now induct new players to the final team. I doubt Suarabh will be part of the team knowing Hitman. He will go for Sundar and someone more stable. He will not go for Sarfaraz as he still have a grudge with this guy or he would. Letst wait and see how he handles the team and work around the loss he faced as a captain.
Both scored runs, so I doubt anyone would think this is good news.

Sunder should walk into the team because he's a good bat and Kuldeep is already in the squad so it makes sense if Saurabh is sitting out, maybe Kuldeep in place of Siraj.

I am not sure what sort of grudge you are pointing out but IMO Sarfaraz should also walk in and bat at 4 or 5.

Yes this is very sad news for Indians. They are already very weak without Virat Kohli in their team, but if they don't have great all-rounders like KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja in their team, India will be even weaker. India was a strong team against England in the first test match but still they lost this test match to England.Without these two players in the second Test match, India will be weak and England will have a chance to win this match as well. But I am optimistic that the Indian team will play well and win the second Test match against England. Just a prediction  Cheesy

Hopefully now Indian fans will be enjoying cricket in real world because in last few years there were too many arguments about them with mostly were feeling they are invisible at home, but this defeat brings them down, and now it's time for having better entertainment in the game as all is not going to stay at the same level for the years they can also go down like this even they were having turning wicket and trio of their best spinners which were completely downed by just one English man.
I am really surprised with Hartley who done good work in his first test match and took 7 wickets in second inning which is memorable performance for him and English cricket as well for years now just few days left with most chances India will hit back but still this is going to be remembered for the years.

We know that England has won the test match against India but does this effect the points on the WTC for the both teams. Though it will be good for the England team but it will be hard to them to end up on the top 2.

Now check the WTC points table, it was started in 2023 and finished in 2025. Australia had the number 1 position and in the second position, we can see South Africa. The first two easy qualify for the final and at this time, South Africa and Australia are in the game but it will finish in 2025.

However, these two teams can play the final at this time, and let's check their records.  Australia team whitewashed Pakistan in the matches of three series which caused of their first opposition, and the South African team whitewashed Indian team.

Well, this was a surprise. I did not think India was going to lose this test match. Especially since they have played so well in the first innings. India had shown great performance in the first innings and that's why I thought that target is not going to be big enough for England to actually successfully defend. Especially since India had a lot of time to actually score those runs. In the end, England was able to win by 28 runs.

Australia lost by 8 runs which must have been heartbreaking. Especially for Steve Smith. He was there till the end and he was not out in his 90s. Maybe Australia was really feeling sorry for themselves for giving the declaration in the first innings. Even though they were nine down, what if they could get 10 more? Smiley
