Wow! What a finale. Stuart Broad went out in style with both the bat and ball. England managed to win this one by 40+ runs when it looked like the Australians would end up cruising to victory.

Woakes was the game-changer! I thought Stokes dropped the match when he dropped Smith's catch, but he got out pretty quickly. Also, Bairstow took a stunner for a change behind the wicket.

Overall, Australia luckily retained the Ashes thanks to rain, but England came back brilliantly.

We witness one of the most interesting Ashes series and this final match was the best of the 5 match series. We never knew who will be the winner of this match until the last day. Australia fought hard but England once again proved a better team. England won this test match by 49 runs and the Ashes ended in a draw 2-2.

By the way, England was unlucky in the 4th test match, had it not rained, they would have easily won this test match and therefore the series too. Anyways it's part of history now. Officially it's 2-2.

I don’t think anybody had given a chance to England after australia went ahead in this ashes series by 2-0. We thought australia was surely going to win, at least one of the three remaining matches. But in the end I think that is the exact mistake australia made. They thought that as well and took things lightly. And that was the chance for England to make a comeback. Of course I also agree that if there was no rain in the fourth test, England could have won the series.

The fifth match was a decider match as the outcome of the remaining 4 matches depended on the fifth match. When we play football or cricket in the area, if the result of the match is equal then another match is organized which is called as decide match  the team that wins that match will win three matches. The fourth match was England's but in the fifth match I didn't think England would win. England set a good target against Australia in the second innings and Australia batted quite successfully on that target but later Australia could not hold on to their wickets due to which Australia came very close to winning the fifth match and lost to England. The result of the completed series depended on the match being drawn or won.

England beat Australia by 49 in Australia vs England test match. But in the early stages of the game, it looked like Australia would easily reach their target of victory but suddenly due to the rain, their game became a bit of a problem due to which the match went out of their hands very easily. We can definitely praise England's bowling here because England team bowled very well especially Chris Woakes bowled 19 overs scoring 50 runs and taking four wickets. England batted and bowled well, due to which they were able to win this test series. Congratulations to the England team.

Rain has also changed the momentum of the 5th test match. Australia was in the front seat of the match before the lunch break. Then the rain appeared and turned the lunch break into tea break. Australian batting lineup has collapsed after the long lunch and tea break. England will still regret for the rain which has interrupted in the 4th test match. The series has ended as a draw, but Australia has retained the title for the rules of the Ashes. Anyway, the end of Stuart Broad journey was really good.

Broad retired and Ali followed him too. Weird thing is that Anderson still hasn't retired which isn't smart at all considering the fact that he might not be selected for Ashes 2025 in my opinion.

Come to think of it, a lot of candidates are lined up for retirement in the next 2-3 years.

Ben Stokes and Bairstow might be a potential guess as they play 2 formats so it's possible. Warner is going out soon. Khwaja is 36 and Smith also touching mid-30s.

The fifth day belonged to England alone as they won the fifth Test to end the series in an inconclusive draw. When Australia scored 130 plus runs for no wicket on the fourth day, there was a time when it seemed that England might lose the match and besides losing the match, they might also lose the series, but from the start of the fifth day, England's bowlers bowled brilliantly against Australia, which led to the fifth Test of this Test.
Back in the day they made a great comeback. Had the fourth Test not been interrupted by rain, England might have won the Test series. After losing consecutively in the first two matches of this Test series, England came back in the next three matches. Big congratulations to England and Australia for delivering a great series.

All teams should adopt the epic Bazball approach in order to make tests way more interesting since England has proven that it's an effective strategy.

@Haunebu Broad and Ali are right to retire now because this is the perfect time to groom in other player’s and I also think that they were keen to avoid injuries too. Lastly even I’m baffled as to why Anderson didn’t announce his retirement because he could have retired on a high note and maybe he probably wants one last glory hence he’s holding out but only time will tell if he made the right choice or not.

What a game of cricket and what a come back by England on the last day to win the last match and draw the series. No one was expecting that England will take 10 wickets on last day. Moin Ali and Wokes did the job for England by picking 7 wickets. Its the last game of Stuart Broad and he ended his career by picking 4 wickets in his final test. Hopes are high that Anderson will also announce his retirement now.
Australia batted well in the beginning as an opener, but on the last day came the worst performance. If the Australian batsmen could have collected some runs then there was definitely a chance to win the match. But in this case England bowlers Moeen Ali and Woakes have completely destroyed the bowling of Australia as they have lost seven wickets together. I think Australia's collapse has not been seen in other matches. But England's bowling performance is quite good and it has been highlighted by the audience and because of the good bowling performance, England has been able to equalize.

Sometimes I think Ashes matches are scripted! Looking at all the incredible results, we can say that the match is unlikely to be scripted. Every match is very competitive and full of excitement. It was a completely unexpected result that Australia would lose in the final match. Even at 260 I saw Australia lost only 3 wickets. Australia's innings ended there on 334 runs. It was completely unexpected that the Australian lower order would bat so badly. However, I am happy with England's win. Because the series has been drawn at 2-2. Delayed by rain, I thought maybe Australia were going to win the series. England were lucky, and the team performed brilliantly.

England made an unbelievable comeback and drew the series 2-2. But I am concerned about their future. England bowling attack will never be the same without Stuart Broad. And James Anderson may retire as soon as he get to 700 test wickets. This means that the pace bowling responsibility will fall on the shoulders of Mark Wood, Chris Woakes and Ollie Robinson. And I am not sure whether they are ready for it. And the less talked about their spin attack, that better. At this point, they have only one good spinner with them and his name is Joe Root.

Australia started to collapse from 74 overs. 4 wickets fell in these four overs from 74 overs to 77 overs. Since then the Australian batsmen could not settle on the pitch. Alex Carey got some runs but captain Pat Cummins couldn't do much there. Due to which the team has suddenly accepted defeat. England won by 49 runs due to Australia's wicket crisis. Even though England did not win the series, they were very happy with the victory in the last match.
What a match and how good England have performed to level the series. None could've expected this to happen, because the team is at their best as they had good opening partnership coming between Warner and Khawaja. Chris Woakes is the man who gave the break and took four important wickets. Particularly the wicket of Starc who used to do good at the tail end. Moeen Ali have performed well and he had done the right thing at the right time and fulfilled the purpose for which he's been brought into the test match squad after long break.

What a fantastic series it was! England, Australia both teams demonstrated highly competitive and gave us a thrilling contest.

England's comeback from 2-0 down to level it 2-2. It will go down in history as one of the most incredible comebacks in Test cricket. England might have even ended up winning the series 3-2, if there no weather intervening in the 4th test. Chris Woakes made the difference with his exceptional bowling skills. Moeen Ali, who is one of my favorites. He played with utmost dedication, giving his heart, blood, and soul to fulfill his role in the Test match. Watching him perform last time was a treat.

Oh, my word. What a match it was between England Vs Australia. They needed only 249 runs with ten wickets in hand. Australia was in a good position after the 4th day. I believe the momentum was broken for Australia because of the daybreak and England come back strongly on the 5th day. Even though Australia retained the Ashes, the result was 2-2 good for England in the end.

Feeling a bit for Stuart Broad. He is retiring from all formats of cricket at a young age. But, he gave his best to the team and we should appreciate his service to the country. It seems Moen Ali is done as well as he said I know I'm done. If Stokes messages me again, I'm going to delete it. That's me done

Very nice of SONY to show only the last 5 balls every over.  Grin

There are some TV channels where cricket matches are being broadcast without any TV ads. Astro Cricket HD is one such channel and it is available worldwide if you are using IPTV. Don't know if it is available on Dish too. On Willow Cricket HD, also you will see very few ads.

https://content.astro.com.my/channels/Astro-Cricket-HD-197

Watching a cricket match without an interception is a blessing in itself, especially when you will see no ads during the over changes or Water breaks etc.

The bowling conditions might favor England today, but it didn't work out rather Australia batters showed excellent skills in their batting performance.
They have a chance to win, although they still need to score quite a few runs. However, there is a possibility of rain affecting the game, just like it did in the 4th test.
I really hope hope that the rain doesn't interfere this time because this series deserves a conclusion and of-course Australia deserve it.
Yeh before rain things were completely in favour of Australia, they have some good and important wickets in hand but later after rain things got change suddenly, after dismissal of Smith and head they can't control situation and lose wickets quickly one after another.
Personally after a spectacular opening start from Australia side I want Australia to get the series because England bowler were bowling like a dead gaint but after rain they become Monster and get them quickly as possible, now the only hope for Australia is A.Carey and some bowler as they already lose 8th wickets while the required is 85 runs in 30, still it's very hard to predict anything..
