ENG 364/6 with a lead of 352, putting themselves in a strong position to win the 5th test. If ENG do level the series and win the 5th test it’d be a real shame because rightfully they should have won The Ashes. Only rain would have helped AUS retain them because ENG were battering them in the 4th test before rain intervened. It’ll be interesting to see how the final test plays out.

England's batsmen did not play well in the first innings, but they did not make any mistakes in the second innings. England's batsmen have batted well. Especially England's top order played very well. Every batsman had a good strike rate in the Test match as well. England collected 375 runs in 77 overs. England team will probably be able to provide a target of 380-390 runs. And on such a pitch it is a very good target. England's chances of winning are high if the bowlers are able to bowl controlled bowling from the beginning of the innings. The series is likely to end at 2-2.
England batsmen batted well and Australia captain Aaron Finch invited England to bat. The visiting team got off to a great start with the bats of two openers, Alex Hales and Jos Buttler. Australia was also at the peak of confidence after defeating the West Indies in a 2-match series. England won by 8 runs in a thrilling battle between two heavyweights. Host Australia could not score more than 200 runs for 9 wickets in response to England's 208 for 6 wickets in the first T20I of the 3-match series in perth England took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Usman Khawaja and David Warner are batting with great skill as they put on a 135-run opening partnership. England's bowlers have become helpless against these two batsmen. Australia marching towards victory. They need 249 runs to win again. Play is temporarily suspended due to rain. Hopefully the rain won't stop play for long. There are still 48 overs left in the fourth day's play. The game of cricket is unpredictable. If England fail to dismiss the Australian batsmen, they will lose the match. England need to take 4 wickets today to move on to victory. According to me both teams have a chance to win.

England vs Australia, 5th Test Australia came to bat on the fourth day, Australia batsmen are doing amazing batting to fill the lead given by England. Australia has collected 75 runs at the moment England has not taken any wicket yet. Two Australian batsmen David Warner and Usman Khawaja are batting brilliantly to meet the target given by England. David Warner has already collected 30 runs from 61 balls and Usman Khawaja has collected 39 runs from 83 balls. Australia still need to collect 309 runs to reach the target given by England if the Australian batsmen can bat well then surely they can reach their target.

Still no wicket for England after 37 overs and Australia have collected 135 runs. The problem with England squad is that they play test like ODI or T20 while Aussies play test genuinely. Khawaja and Warner are on the crease and they both have scored half centuries. England need 2 to 3 wickets and that too in quick succession. If both these openers keep going like that Aussies may won the match by 10 wickets.
Australia have already accumulated 135 runs with two great batsmen at the crease. David Warner and Usman Khawaja's excellent batting performance has taken Australia a long way today as they need only 249 runs to reach their target. But at the moment the match is suspended due to rain, the match will be suspended until the rain clears, although it is difficult to say how the Australian game will play out due to the rain. But England are not bowling very well today and have not taken any wickets yet due to which Australia are batting brilliantly. Since David Warner and Usman Khawaja are still at the crease, if England can't take wickets then Australia will have more chances to win today's match.

Australia's two opening batsmen may have started off brilliantly with a plan that Australia must win the fifth Test anyway.

David Warner and Usman Khawaja have put together a brilliant partnership of 135 runs in the opening pair so far. Australia will win this series in addition to winning the fifth test only by 249 runs.

England set a good target in their second innings against Australia but despite setting a big target, Australia are batting in their usual style. 249 for 10 is very easy for Australia. England will have to drop some wickets very quickly if they want to come back in this match. If Australia can't get the batsmen out quickly, England will lose the Test series.

Stuart Broad announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket after this final test. He hit a six at the end in style. I don't like his personality one bit, but I will miss his bowling in tests.
Stuart Broad is one of the best bowler England produced and for a fast bowler to take 600 wickets in Test Cricket is not that easy. I always felt that he never got the recognition and respect for a bowler who has 600 wickets.

I thought England will win the match after posting a decent total, but looks like Australia will be chasing the total as they already have a 100 run opening partnership and with plenty of time left in the match they need 284 more run to win the match.

AUS batting well, they require 309 runs to win, still yet to lose a wicket.
So far Australia have not lost any wicket but they need to collect only 309 runs to win the match. But this match is very important for England because it is very important for England to win this match at Staurt broad's departure. But one thing to note is that the pitch may have helped the batting so if Australia tackles in a defensive mood then this match is likely to be won by Australia.
Now Australia need 298 runs while they have not lost any wicket yet.  So Australia looks like a very likely winning team.  Australia have played very well before and they have won several times in the last matches as well. If australia collect 200+ runs and if they don't lose more than 2 wickets till then then I guess Australia will win the match very easily. Meanwhile, England cannot be called a bad team because they played very well and kept the target in good runs

A fantastic day for England but slightly discolored by a late collapse. However, England remain a strong contenders and most likely to get victory. Anyway, Australia's defensive approach quite alarming, and a bit of disappointing. It will be interesting to see how they will play for the remaining two days of the test match. England just needs to maintain their concentration! Even if they manage a draw, they should still be proud. So good to watch last two days match.

England team has been able to provide a huge target of 384 runs. Despite not batting well in the first innings, almost every batsman of England played well in the second innings. A total of 384 is enough to win if England's bowlers are able to bowl well. If England's bowlers don't perform well, they won't win. Because Australia's batsmen are also experienced enough. And they also have the ability to win with a target of 384 runs.
Australia team collected 38 runs in 10 overs. Australia have not lost a wicket yet. If the opening pair can get off to a good start, Australia's chances of winning will increase.

Stuart Broad announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket after this final test. He hit a six at the end in style. I don't like his personality one bit, but I will miss his bowling in tests.

Am expecting Woakes or Broad to remove Warner as usual. This final test might go down to the wire, but England will still probably end up winning.
Stuart Broad will retire from all formats of cricket it can actually be said to be an important farewell for England cricket. But England cricket will remember his contribution for the rest of his life and we cricket fans will never see him bowling again. But if England can win his last Test match, it will be a memorable match for him. And the last match of his life will be his farewell with a victory, it is actually a joy. England Test cricket will never forget Stuart Broad's contribution as the Test format has amassed his 600 plus wickets.

England are playing well with both the bat and ball and truly deserve to win this finale. They got really unlucky in the last test thanks to rain since they could have won this series if they win this ongoing test.

Overall, another great Ashes which was almost perfect!
Had the fourth Test not been rained out, England would have won and the Tests would have been tied. The winner and loser of the fifth test was decided by the team that did better in batting and bowling.
But the way England is batting aggressively in ODI style, then it can be safely said that England is batting aggressively to defeat Australia. By the last update of England's second innings, England had scored 277 runs and managed to take a lead of 265 runs.
England saved many series in a similar fashion. I remember a few, in recent memory, it was against India in Nottingham (1st test-2021 India tour of England-). India needed just 150 runs and had 9 wickets in the bank and then it rained. The series ended with a 2-2 scoreline.

The point is it happens to everyone and we should just move on.

Even if England fail to win the series against Australia, they may be able to save themselves from losing this series. Australia is leading by 377 runs in the second innings. When the fourth day's play begins, England may go back into batting as they still have one wicket left in their hands. If the runs scored by England so far and the current score is a target for Australia then England will be way ahead of Australia in this match. It will be very difficult for Australia to win by 378 runs against a team like England. I initially think that England will win this match and the result of this Test series will remain undecided.

First inning - 283
second inning - 295
Third inning -377 and counting

There is still one wicket left and England would like to make as many runs as possible and there would be no hurry to declare as there are still full 2 days left in this test match and it is enough time for either England to get 10 wickets or for the Australians to chase around 400 runs in the final innings.

Stuart Broad announced his retirement yesterday and this would be his last test match. Man, wouldn't he wish to win the last test for this team?
Remember he bowled 20 overs and took 2 wickets in the first innings when Australians were batting.

Two days remain for the 5th and final Ashes test, which means that even if there is some rain interruption we should get a result. The only thing that may deny England a win is the fact that they don't have a quality full-time spinner. Joe Root have been fantastic with the ball so far in this series, but he never received any support from the other end (especially from Moeen Ali, who seems to be injured). Also, James Anderson has been in poor form. In this test also, he has picked up only one wicket, and that too at the cost of 67 runs.

England is again back into the match and they played a much better innings in their second innings where their entire batting line up contributed to the score except Harry Brook and from conceding a lead in the first innings, now they are on the process of setting Australia a target of around 400 runs which is an impossible task for them to defend for the next two days and i really doubt whether they will be able to chase them down.
The recent highest score chase happened in the year 2021 against Bangladesh by West Indies (395/7). In the chase a strong scoring should come from few players or the entire team should have their contribution. In such chase te top order should provide the right start and the middle order should accelerate and keep the score coming. However the weather conditions need to favour and with this chasing can be made easier, but this doesn't happen as the team will be with added pressure in the last innings.

Of course England is in driven seat.
But England's score could have been a little bigger but we were very surprised by their T20 and ODI style of Test playing. Every England player has batted in ODI style only to set a big target. However, England's lower order batsmen did not achieve much success rather they got out very quickly and set England back from a big target.
Two lower-order batsmen, Stuart Broad and James Anderson, remain unbeaten for the fourth day but their unbeaten streak will not be very likely. In this case, Australia will get a chance to bat for two whole days. If Australia can continue their batting for two days then it will be easy for Australia to win this match. On the other hand, for England to win this match, Australia will have to go all out. However, the target of 377+ runs in front of Australia is by no means small but a challenging one.
