I have no idea about the Sri Lankan team members but their batsman played well than expected but their bowlers failed to make an impact and Sri Lanka still trail by 160 runs and lost 2 wickets already and with 2 days left South Africa can win the match unless you see some extraordinary resistance by the Sri Lankan batsman.
While the checking the profiles of the players all of them are average batsman who is averaging around 30 which is not a good standard at this level and it is highly unlikely we will see any kind of resistance from the batsman in the second innings.

We still don't know if the next test match will be played in Sydney due to a coronavirus outbreak and if not it will most likely played at the MCG where this match is currently being played so it could go in India's favour and they have a chance to maybe go 2-1 in the series.
What is the present situation, heard that the borders are closed and the cricket board will be taking the decision this week i guess and if they play in the same pitch then it will aide the spinners as the wicket will be deteriorated for another Test match.

Will keep this in mind if i place a bet on the match, i did not check the history in the pitch before placing a bet in this match considering some of the main players are not in the team for India and i expected Steve Smith to bounce back.

The match started, just heard by the commentary team telling that Umesh Yadav is injured and he wont be bowling in the rest of the match and Australia lost too much wicket to have any hope.

Everyone were expecting a 0-4 whitewash for the Indians. If they could win even one match, it is going to be huge.
Wrong statement. Majority were expecting this while I am a part of the minority who didn't expect this at all. I mentioned that underestimating India on the basis of one horrible innings is pure stupidity.

Many people conveniently forgot the fact that Australia struggled in the 1st innings of the 1st match. India has the capability to draw this series from here on out.

Same here and I am an Australian. I said even before the test series begins that I can see India winning a test match or two as the grounds where the test matches are played really do suit the Indian team. I also mentioned that India play well at the MCG and even won last time they played here even after the poor performance in Adelaide I still expected India to come out firing which they have. The Brisbane test match is the only one where I can see India not do so well as Australia have a very good record on that ground and haven't lost a test match in many years.

Did you check the scoreboard, South Africa scored 621 runs. Faf du Plessis fell one run short of a double century and Dean Elgar fell 5 runs short of his century Tongue.
I saw the scoreboard between South Africa and Sri Lanka and i did not cash out solely because of that match but after seeing the pathetic performance from Australia and with couple of days more for that match it is highly unlikely we would see a different result when half of their team is back in the pavilion and hence i cashed out.

I do not watch football much, Table tennis, Badminton, NFL, NBA but my lucks on those sports are better in fact when I make any profit on gambling I get most of my wins from other sports LOL

How would you explain this?

By the way, for the record in the pools we have often, I do not do bad at all.
Lol. Happens to me all the time too. I lost so many bets even after a ton of research, but win bets which I placed randomly. This is why research doesn't ensure success. Also, your luck is better in the betting pools here when compared to betting on the actual matches.

Somehow there's a reason why individual still keep believing team India. Rahane continues good captaincy in second innings changes the situation and in this sense I can rely on India. Look at this statistics it's very possible to draw this series.
Both teams are over-dependent on their experienced players so far since newbies have mostly disappointed. A draw is completely possible though luck and DRS decisions will matter a lot in the upcoming matches based on what I have observed so far.

Steve Smith, without any doubt is the best Australian batsman and his lack of form has had a huge impact on the prospects of Australia. David Warner is absent from this series and combined with Smith's lack of form, Australia has struggled in the batting department. Everyone were expecting a 0-4 whitewash for the Indians. If they could win even one match, it is going to be huge.
Steve Smith might be exhausted playing for many months without meeting his wife and if you look at his social media pages he is missing his wife and he was supposed to meet after a long time but with the boarders closed they are not able to meet even now and that might have affected his performance  Cheesy.

His scores 1, 1*, 0 and 8 which is rare and lets see how he is going to perform in the rest of the series.

When Sri Lanka played well than expected i wanted to cash out but only today i got the best odds to cash out but still around 60% loss  Cry.

How is everyone!
I am not watching cricket these days especially these Test matches but day before yesterday I thought to bet some money on the matches. I got:

Australia to win
South Africa to win
New Zealand to win

The confidence level in the Australia to win was super high and when yesterday I checked the score I was like wtf! Now just checked the score and I feel Australia is going to lose the match.

The India tour of Australia is a nightmare for me.

In the ODI series after winning the first two match I thought Australia was going to win the last match too. I had a decent amount for them in the last match. Lost all LOL

In the T20 series, in the first match I had Australia again - thought they will win but Australia lost. I did not bet in the 2nd match. After two consecutive wins in the last match I thought India will win again. I put money on them this time and lost LOL.

I did not bet in the first Test match. If I would then I would go for Australia. However, seeing the performance in the first Test I thought okay let's bet this time in the 2nd Test and you can see where I am.

The experts here - what do you think of me and my relationship in India tour of Australia LOL
Haha to be honest. It's complicated and maybe your luck is a bit like Steven Smith for this series. And I think the key to winning for Australia is in Smith's pocket. He is a star performer and has been the only anchor apart from Warner and Labuschagne for this team. With the absence of Warner in the test matches, everything is now on Smith Labuschagne is still not that experienced to play against India. So frankly speaking Indians are now pretty hot favourites for this series. With Rohit coming back in the side this side would look even better. I feel the batsmen have now got an idea of how to play in Australian conditions. Moreover in previous match that 36 All out was like a magical nightmare otherwise that test too had been an easy win for India. It's primarily the Indian bowling attack which is making India win. But yes with Shami already out and Umesh now injured this can be a concern. So for you, my opinion would be to stay far away this relationship is toxic for you  Grin Grin

Not an expert  Grin

Sydney is batting track so I am expecting draw there and the last game at Gabba should go in favor of Australia as this is their stronghold.
------
India is at very strong position and looking at 1-1. At first game India also dominated majority of the sessions and i was celebrating but they choked and witnessed one of the worst collapse, so i am not in mood of premature celebration just yet.  Grin

Australia to win
South Africa to win
New Zealand to win
Even i placed the same parlay and i had to cash out today morning at a loss when India was all out and the odds were not that great either as i got a combined odds of 1.41 and only New Zealand played according to my bet and the odds for that were a mere 1.08 when i placed the bet.

When Sri Lanka played well than expected i wanted to cash out but only today i got the best odds to cash out but still around 60% loss  Cry.

Australia messed up big time, Steve Smith is struggling in this series which is a rare scene and the credit goes to the bowlers and when their batsman put the score on the board they were able to dismantle the Australian batting line up with ease as if both these teams are playing in different pitches.

Pat Cummins and Green in the crease and they still trail by 27 runs and India will win the match and level the series.

My expectation from this series after first test match was same as India losing 4-0 or might not register a win in this series. But blessing in disguise probably can say as Virat left the team for his personal reasons and Rahane was named captain who took charge and leading the way from the front. From here they are not far away to register their win and make 1-1 series, unless they goof up their 2nd innings batting.

Can understand your pain. It's always difficult to bet on matches where the teams competing are at equal level. It all comes down to luck basically no matter how much research you are willing to do.

I advise you not to bet on the remaining tests in this series since the situation is quite unpredictable right now. You might end up losing even more money. Just my 2 cents.

To Royse777, I don't know whether I agree with that strategy. If India wins the second test match, it will be more like an outlier. I don't expect the same result for the remaining matches of the series. I would rather prefer you betting for the remaining matches as well, so that you can recover some of the amount that you lost during the second match. The only catch is that you need to be consistent in your bets. Don't change your assumptions mid way.

I am not going to take any risk any more in this series. True the competition is high here but interestingly whenever I picked a side the opposite came out winning and with cricket it happens to me all the time! :-D

The only sport I understand the most is Cricket but this is the sport where I lost most of the money. I do not watch football much, Table tennis, Badminton, NFL, NBA but my lucks on those sports are better in fact when I make any profit on gambling I get most of my wins from other sports LOL

Well.. good for you. Indian bowlers performed well during the first match, and they lost because of poor performance from the batsmen. And this time Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill ensured that there will be no batting collapse similar to what happened during the first match. Now it should be a cakewalk for the Indians. I don't think that Australian lead (which stands currently at 2 runs) will get in to three digits.

The hype before the tournament was that Australia was waiting to avenge the loss they had in the last tour and the first match was close till India batted in the second innings. Australia is struggling with the bat as well and the interesting aspect of this series is that both the teams having quality bowlers and all the batsman are struggling to score runs expect for Rahane who scored a century and played a captains knock.

Pat Cummins and Green in the crease and they still trail by 27 runs and India will win the match and level the series.
Two days to go and how much runs they can score with the tail exposed. It is another disappointing innings yet again by Steve Smith and all of his dismissals are in the leg stump line and it looks like they have found his weak spot  Cheesy.

Indian bowlers are looking to be in splendid form, without any exceptions. Australia is still trailing by 33 runs, with just 5 wickets in hand. No one really expected India to have a good chance against Australia in this match, especially without their key players. If they manage to win this one, then it is going to be such a morale booster for them. There is even a chance of a win by an innings.

I was cursing at Indian tailenders when they got bundled cheaply as i was expecting at least 150 runs lead. But damn Indian bowlers doing excellent job and i hope they keep things tight here as 4th inning chase could be tricky so don't give them any chance.
