The tail seem to be holding strong and hopefully we get to see Brathwaite score a century because he deserves it.
Kraigg Brathwaite is playing a captains innings and he is just one short of his century and most probably he will score the century as he played a patient long innings and surprisingly the tail end players are giving him the support especially Rahkeem Cornwall who is the biggest cricket player who is really obese and he does not looks like a sportsman but he plays well when the team needed.

Anyone watching the West Indies Sri Lanka series, West Indies yet again struggling as they already lost 6 wickets for 214 runs and the match depends upon how they are going to rebound and Sri Lanka playing their first innings. If they are able to get a substantial lead in their first innings then they will have a chance to win the match if not we will see another draw.

I watched the highlights of this match and yes it looks like the WI are once again struggling but I thought they did well to reach close to 300 on the first day more so thanks to Brathwaite holding the WI innings together. The problem is that no other batsman could stay with him long enough to form big partnerships. The tail seem to be holding strong and hopefully we get to see Brathwaite score a century because he deserves it.

Pakistan will be touring Zimbabwe after their assignment in South Africa. They will be playing three T20Is and two test matches (starting from 21st April, all the matches to be played behind closed doors in Harare). This is going to be the first test series between Zimbabwe and Pakistan since 2013 (Pakistan is not required to play tests against Zimbabwe, because the latter are not part of the ICC World Test Championship).

Yeah we could see that there wasn't much interest in this match as this thread was silent for days apart from a few of us posting in here about the match. I only watched the highlights to see how both teams have been performing. Yeah there are many matches going on right now but they must make up for the lost time from 2020, I guess we just need to pick what games to watch. To be honest even the India/ England series has been one sided but the matches have been good to watch.

I disagree with the claim that the India vs England series has been one sided. Take the test series. England won the first match when no one expected them to do that. Even the T20 series was exciting and was decided on the last match. First it was 1-0 in favor of England. Then 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 and finally India managed to win the series 2-3. And now the ODI series also will be decided on the last match, as both the teams are at 1-1 right now.
Firstly we know what is one-sided series mean. In a series or match, a team wins by a huge run difference we called that match is one-sided. But almost every match between England and India was very competitive and exciting. I don't understand how you think this series is one-sided. If two strong teams play against each other, one team will win. It is not one-sided. You could say that England did not perform as well as expected. But the series was not one-sided. At least I think so.
Sithara is saying the exactly same thing, not the other way around. I think you misread or may be you were replying to @vella85.

The one thing i like about Ind vs Eng series is. India won majority of games despite losing the toss. I think that Kohli should start toss practicing otherwise upcoming England outing is going to be very tough for the Indian batters.

All matches have been very competitive. The only advantage India had was that they were playing in their home ground. That being said it does not mean all matches were one sided, if that was the case then England should not have won a single match.

Nkrumah Bonner is still in the crease. These players have funny names  Cheesy.
Yeah there are some funny names in cricket and if you look at the England players funny names (Cook, Buttler and they have Root) you will understand from where they got that hook, may be commonwealth connection  Cheesy.
Quinton De Cock , Bonner and hardik hahaha
Hardik and Pant are the funniest name in the Indian team and Hardik got some heat when he explained about his name in Karan Johar show and he got suspended by the BCCI and he lost some lucrative contracts from advertisers as well. So much for a name (Hard dick) and people cannot understand comedy and fun Grin.

Both team fought hard and tried their best. If it was Ashes match, everyone would have gone gaga over this already.
It was a really good match, the reason why everyone is not going gaga was i only watched the highlights and so does majority of the cricket fans Cheesy.

-Holder fifer and Roach seam bowling in the 1st inning. Lahiru Thirimanne's hard fought 70 odds runs contribution in SL's 1st inning total of 169 runs.
-Team batting second gets important 100+ runs lead.
-Sri Lanka fights back and puts 400+ runs on the scoreboard.
-Last day and new guy steps up, scores 100 on his 3rd test match and saves the game for the Windies.

It was a match between two of the smaller teams and there wasn't much interest outside West Indies and Sri Lanka. One reason may be the ongoing series between India and England. Also, the timing of the matches in West Indies is not suitable for the fans in India. This was one of the reasons why they shifted the CPL matches to late night. And that resulted in increased revenues for the WICB in the form of viewership from India.

International calendar is getting crowded now. SL vs WI, IND vs ENG and NZ vs BAN going on at the same time.

I want to say that, West Indies squad is much much better than the Srilankan squad. Although the Sri Lankan players played well and they were able to draw the match. Losing all their wickets for just 169 runs in the first innings, the comeback in the second innings was really admirable. But there is no continuity of the performance of the players. Also, the top-order batsmen in the West Indies have played much better than the top-order batsmen in Sri Lanka.

This was a match between two of the weaker test nations and I haven't seen anything in this match that could change my opinion about both the teams. Sri Lankan bowlers could pick just 4 wickets, despite bowling for 100 overs in the 4th and 5th days of the match. And they were blasted out for just 169 in the first innings. The partnership between Pathum Nissanka and Niroshan Dickwella gave them respectability in the second innings, but they need to perform consistently. The West Indies bowlers on the other hand were toothless against Nissanka and Dickwella.

Both teams played well. The main thing is, the two teams are of the same quality. And neither team can maintain its own consistency of performance. And the bowling lineup of both teams is relatively weak. So I would say both teams tried their best to win the match. But Sri Lanka could have won the match if their bowling lineup had improved a bit more. They had enough time to pick up the West Indies wicket.

West Indies drew the match, Sri Lanka played well in the match and i did not expect them to score that much runs in the second innings and if their bowlers were lethal the match would have been interesting.

I never thought that they will be able to draw the match. But they somehow managed to do it. Nkrumah Bonner batted for entire day and the credit mostly go to him. Also Kyle Mayers provided excellent support, although he played an unnecessary shot against Lasith Embuldeniya and got out. In the end, the Sri Lankan bowlers lacked the venom to go for the kill. They were very impressive during the first innings, but failed during the 5th day.

That was a good fight back from the WI even though they didn't win the match but they were able to survive the day and get the draw. I didn't think they would survive as we have seen in the past, the WI have been poor at saving matches but they were able to on this occasion and will now take that momentum into the next test match.

Last month they chased down the mammoth target of 390+ against the Bangladesh (In Bangladesh on turning track) so I won't count Windies out of the game, yet. Who knows if Double centurion Kyle Mayers pull something out from his hat again or may be someone else. Result could go anywhere, all we need some sort of fightback from the players and voila another fine test result.
It is possible that we are witnessing another big run chase as West Indies needs 192 runs more to win the match and they have 8 wickets in hand and 34 overs left for the match and it is a tight situation and i would like to see whether they will go for the win or look for a draw and with the way they are pacing the innings they are not looking for a win.

Kyle Mayers just lost his wicket, Nkrumah Bonner is still in the crease. These players have funny names  Cheesy.

The West Indies have no chance of winning. Maybe West Indies will lose, otherwise, the match will be a draw. I think the West Indies players want to draw the match. Because if they bat to win the match at such a huge target, they will lose wickets quickly and lose.

West Indies lost the second wicket now. Kraigg Brathwaite is gone. It is not possible to block the spinners for 90 overs. They will chip in with wickets every now and then and the team will be bowled out much before the end of day's play. Nkrumah Bonner has made a half century. Let's see for how long he manages to survive against the Sri Lankan spinners. Rahkeem Cornwall yet to come.
