We can't predict anything in the first day itself, even though India's start was really bad they didn't bowl out on the first day itself and Kohli's runout was very unfortunate but still, India managed to score 233 for the loss of 6 wickets. If they could post another 60+ run before they bowled out India then it is really a good battle from India after their terrible opening.

As I predicted Selectors gave equal importance to the skill as well as experienced players which could give balance to the team whenever it is needed.

Generally, have seen that in OZ during the test matches India lose their first wicket quite quickly and unfortunately before even getting a sense of pitch Shaw was cleaned up on second ball of the start itself. Till Virat and Rahane were on pitch things were looking good for India as considering the start. But those two back to back wickets changed the game as now even 300 might be a big ask if they lose early wickets tomo as well.

Days 1 weren't going good for Indian innings on the right way. Third session changed the circumstance after unnecessary run out of Virat Kohli's which leads to a mini collapse for India. Let's see how much runs Indian batsmen will add on the scoreboard tomorrow.

Kohli's decision to bat first proving to be another blunder. The pitch is offering a lot of support for the bowlers and if India had opted to field first, then Bumrah, Shami and Yadav would have had Australian batsmen in trouble. Also, let's not forget the fact that David Warner is not playing in this match. Cheteshwar Pujara is still out there, but he is not looking comfortable against the pacers.

41/2 - Dinner break. Tough session for India.

Australian bowlers didn't gave anything to batsmen. Mayank was looking good, unfortunately he didn't last long. Pujara was on other hand looks very lucky and solid at the same time. India going very slow, saving wickets is necessary but scoring runs is also necessary. They should change gears a bit in next session as its not easy feat to score runs under light.

This is worst start for India they have lost 2 wickets already and are struggling to stay on the pitch. Pujara and Kohli should stay there as long as they can.

OK. So all four have been included in the playing XI. Here in Indian social media, there is fierce debate on why Prithvi Shaw was selected over Shubman Gill, and why Wriddhiman Saha was preferred over Rishabh Pant. I guess I would wait for some more time, before making a comment on this. This is going to be the last chance in a while for Shaw, and he needs to make use of it.

BTW, I am excited that Cameron Green has been included to the Australian playing XI.

I was in favor of Shubman Gill because of his good form and Shaw's poor form but after seeing playing XI my reading is team management want to give him long rope as he did okay in his last tour but on Rishab Pant they took a U turn, Pant was 2nd highest scorer for team India. May be they are showing confidence on their top 6 batsmen?

Cameron Green might turn into next Sam Curran for Australia, bad dream as far as indian team is concern.
