now you can also put your tezzies on Kraken for the staking procedure!  Cool🚀

Kraken might be better than Binance, but best is to delegate from your own wallet, so private keys are with you. Plus, it's nice to get the rewards every cycle (~ 3 days) to pay some bills or grab some drinks    Smiley

What do you mean by "better"? Binance much bigger and has much more volume. Or do you mean staking % on Kraken is bigger than on Binance?

This Cryptocurrency Could Boom Following Bitcoin’s Next Drop

Bitcoin has plunged by approximately 50 percent from its 2019 peak. And the cryptocurrency is hinting to continue trending downwards before the year’s close. The negative sentiment in its market, nevertheless, is benefiting rival cryptocurrencies.

That is particularly true for XTZ, the native asset of Tezos, a proof-of-stake blockchain project whose market valuation has grown twofold across the last and current financial quarters.

Ledger Live Adds Support for Tezos and Staking, Adds Features to Hardware Wallets

Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has announced the latest version of its Ledger Live application, adding support for Tezos (XTZ) and Tezos staking.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ledger-live-adds-support-for-xtz-and-tezos-staking-incorporating-software-features-into-hardware-wallets
Ledger won't let themselves be at the end of the race, this is a good initiative for them and it will also start the other wallets that support Tezos probably might do the same thing. If I'll stake Tezos, I'll choose to keep it to a ledger wallet than to an exchange.

Now there is an alternative to Binance, Gate.io, CoinbasePro and other centralized staking! With Atomex, you can delegate and exchange Tezos at the same time, fully controlling your funds! Moreover, you can select any baker from the comprehensive list by Baking Bad.

thanking for sharing that utility!!!!

Just read this message while playing with my texbox wallet :

Delegation has changed with the Babylon upgrade - you can now delegate directly from your tz* address. If you want to change your delegate, please transfer your funds to your tz* address and delegate from there. We will re-add delegation for KT1 addresses in the future.

Is it a compulsory move we have to make anytiime soon? I mean , I'm currently delegating from my KT1 address and receiving rewardss regularly but wouldn't like to discover I'll stop receiveing them and restart my delegation and wait for the maturation period again.

How does it work?

Yes, that was actually a question I was asking too, I'm a bit confused right now.
Thanks bitcoin2daMoon for some explanation, but it's still a bit unclear for me

Yea, I remember seeing that message, too, so I started moving Tez to the parent Tz1 address, but left a small amount on the KT1 address and Tzstats still show the delegation even from the small amount. On the CLI wallet, I didn't make any changes as it's more of a cold-wallet so private keys are inaccessible, and the rewards amount are unaffected and the bakendorse website shows my number of rolls as the same.

I saw a twitter exchange between a delegator and a baker about some missed payments on the rewards and the baker said it's because they don't accept Kt1 delegations, something to do with the new smartnet contract configuration, but it's all above my head. Baker offered to still pay the missed rewards. I think it all depends on the baker if it has re-structured, but since I'm a solo-baker and didn't make any changes on my node-baker machine (other than recompiling to upgrade), delegations from Kt1 addresses are still ok for my setup. Sorry if I'm just confusing it even more, lol. Hope someone with more knowledge would shed light on this.

How much was the Tezos price during ICO?

One more question: I found out that after Babylon 2.0 was implemented, all the delegations are now made only through tz accounts. What if I've delegated my coins using the KT-address (before Babylon implementation)? Do I have to change anything or it's ok to leave things like this? I'm using the latest version of Galleon (0.9.2b I think)

The price was 0.0002 BTC  per xtz  (5000 xtz per 1 BTC )   but if you contributed at the very beginning, your price was 0.000166667 BTC  as there was a 20% bonus  (you get 6000 xtz per 1 BTC )  bitcoin price was approximately $2500  so about $0.42 each xtz

We're above both of those price metrics at the moment (much more on the $ price metric)

On the delegation question, I don't know about galleon, but my KT wallet delegations on the CLI wallet as well as the online web Tezbox wallet continued to function even after the upgrade. I'm a solo-baker, though, and I think some public bakers require delegations from TZ wallet now after the upgrade.

Fellow Binancians,

Binance will add support for Tezos (XTZ) staking starting from 2019/12/04. XTZ rewards will be calculated daily based on live snapshots and distributed monthly, with the first distribution to be completed before 2019/01/20. Distributions will be completed before the 20th day of each following month. Binance will distribute XTZ staking rewards as detailed below:

Monthly XTZ Staking Airdrop Program

Starting from 2019/12/04, Binance will begin taking hourly snapshots of user XTZ balances at 00:00 AM UTC.
XTZ Staking distribution will be calculated as follows:
XTZ generated by each user = Total XTZ staking rewards received by Binance * User XTZ holdings ratio.
User XTZ holdings ratio = User XTZ holdings / Total XTZ staked by Binance.
Users must hold at least 1 XTZ in order to qualify for staking rewards.
The initial distribution of XTZ staking rewards will be calculated up until 2019/12/19, with the total amount distributed equal to the staking rewards accrued on holdings during the period.
Since XTZ rewards mature after 7 cycles (roughly 3 weeks) of staking, rewards will be distributed prior to the 20th day of the following month in which the rewards began to accrue.
For example, users who deposit XTZ between 2019/12/04 and 2019/12/19 will receive their first distribution by 2020/01/20. Users that deposit XTZ between 2019/12/20 and 2020/01/19 will receive their distribution of rewards by 2020/02/20.

This is so tempting.  I use to stick to "not your private keys not your coins" rule but this time I'm really undecided about what to do : what's your opinion tezziers?
0% fee is tempting, But I think I better stick with my private my coins. Tezos price is also looking good, We're just back at ICO price, I hope It continues it's ride way up.
