Tezos releases new mainnet-staging branch with improved storage backend

Recently on the Tezos Agora forums, the release of a new version of the mainnet-staging branch was announced. Tezos had announced the Agora platform back in August to support the Tezos on-chain amendment process.

This is so tempting.  I use to stick to "not your private keys not your coins" rule but this time I'm really undecided about what to do : what's your opinion tezziers?

the another way it is to delegate your whole XTZ coins to a Tezos baker chosen from you!

there is an guide how you can delegate your tezzies 👉 https://medium.com/coinmonks/tezos-baking-delegation-guide-a410d9821fc8
and there is a list of the whole XTZ bakers 👉 http://www.mytezosbaker.com/

i delegate my coins for a year and am really satisfied with it - the reward is 3-4 XTZ after every 3rd day
I'm already delegating my xtz to a baker, but that Binance thing is tempting because they apply zero fees whilst usual fees bakers apply are around 7%.

Fellow Binancians,

Binance will add support for Tezos (XTZ) staking starting from 2019/12/04. XTZ rewards will be calculated daily based on live snapshots and distributed monthly, with the first distribution to be completed before 2019/01/20. Distributions will be completed before the 20th day of each following month. Binance will distribute XTZ staking rewards as detailed below:

Monthly XTZ Staking Airdrop Program

Starting from 2019/12/04, Binance will begin taking hourly snapshots of user XTZ balances at 00:00 AM UTC.
XTZ Staking distribution will be calculated as follows:
XTZ generated by each user = Total XTZ staking rewards received by Binance * User XTZ holdings ratio.
User XTZ holdings ratio = User XTZ holdings / Total XTZ staked by Binance.
Users must hold at least 1 XTZ in order to qualify for staking rewards.
The initial distribution of XTZ staking rewards will be calculated up until 2019/12/19, with the total amount distributed equal to the staking rewards accrued on holdings during the period.
Since XTZ rewards mature after 7 cycles (roughly 3 weeks) of staking, rewards will be distributed prior to the 20th day of the following month in which the rewards began to accrue.
For example, users who deposit XTZ between 2019/12/04 and 2019/12/19 will receive their first distribution by 2020/01/20. Users that deposit XTZ between 2019/12/20 and 2020/01/19 will receive their distribution of rewards by 2020/02/20.

Run your own baker.

Tezos is so amazing even with 1 roll (8000 tez) your node will get to endorse and bake (mint) blocks.

Most inclusive protocol I've seen that allows even small players to participate in the network security and get rewards.

I have no presumption of being able to explain XTZ vs DUN, but I can address you to a, in my opinion, very interesting read on Medium about the genesis of Dune project : https://medium.com/tezoscommons/a-cautionary-tale-ocamlpro-65d692af09f8.  It tells a lot but am sure Duners have different views.

Also, given that am not affiliated in any way to Dune project other than being airdropped $DUN as every $XTZ holder, I created a DUN announcement thread here on Bitcointalk as there wasn't one https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dune-network-5189956 maybe someone could offer a different view there.

thank you.

Edit: This issue has been resolved by applying a custom fee that is a bit higher than high. The transaction cleared in about 2 minutes.  I was getting false sense of nothing happening as when I logged out and in, the transaction went from 'Pending' to non-existent.  Thanks for looking.

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help out with a delegation issue I seem to be experiencing.

I have delegated my Tezos from the Galleon wallet a while back to two delegation contracts.  At some point the delegate from contract 2 was updated to the delegate address of contract 1.
I now would like to withdraw the coins from the delegate contracts (to the manager address).

The 'Withdraw' function from the delegate contract 1 went through successfully and quickly.
The same operation on the delegate from contract 2 is stuck in 'pending' mode and goes away when a log out and log back into the wallet each time I attempt it.

I have also tried with 'Send' the funds from the delegate contract to my manager address but alas this too does not work.

Is there anything I can try to get the funds out of the delegate contract?

Thanking each and all who may shed some insight into this in advance.

Edit:

I forgot to mention that upon invoking the 'Withdraw' operation I do receive a "Successfully started contract invocation" message from Galleon, however, the transaction is ever 'pending' in the wallet and the operation id is not valid on the block explorer.

Edit 2:

My 'tz' manager address does have sufficient funds to conver the transfer fees (tz1gTi8dzLhfBXNsZKQ7cCgXQyV4De1Ch5ZZ)

Apologies for the edits (should have been more thorough)

With a YTD return of 185%, where is Tezos (XTZ) heading next?

Tezos has had a fantastic year so far with a year-to-date (YTD) return of 185 percent. Despite the ongoing class-action lawsuit against its founders, XTZ managed to get listed on several leading exchanges in the industry. As millions of retail investors got access to this cryptocurrency, its price entered a bullish trend. But, where can it go from here?

Keep Calm & Bake? Bitcoin Spooked by China News, but Tezos Up 59% During Past Month

Although the past week and the past month have not been kind to Bitcoin, not all altcoins have caught a caught from Bitcoin's sneezes. One in particular -- Tezos (XTZ) -- looks pretty healthy at the moment.
