I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
From the diaries of Captain Obvious: Mahomes is in top shape again this year (which is great as long as he keeps targeting Kelce)
I think the worries about Mahomes had some merit to it, if I remember correctly more than 50% of his targets were concentrated on just Hill and Kelce, and this was used by the Bucs to beat the Chiefs at the SB, as they took them both away and Mahomes had no time to move to his third option, however he is playing really well against pressure and he is spreading the ball which makes him even more dangerous than before.

and niners will... how shall I put it without offending the OP... not be very good LOL. Which is why I didn't go out of my way to get Deebo and may or may not regret it because they'll likely make him run again because they haven't got anything else going.
I watched that game and while the weather was terrible, so it can be difficult to draw any conclusions, I didn’t like what I watched from Lance, I just hope he was simply not ready for such a horrible weather and he can improve against Seattle.

ouch  Cheesy

snip
I read about that stat as well and it seems the only other QB which is undefeated against the Cowboys after more than 5 games is Montana, it seems even the GOATs hate the Cowboys as much as some of us do.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
Hueristic posted some links around the beginning of pre-season, those might work.

PM me if anyone needs a stream link.

When I post them in an open forum they tend to get fucked with. Wink

It was supposed to be on fox, but I guess some fucking MLB team that nobody cares about called the Oakland Athletics or some shit was taking precidence in my market.  I couldn't find it anywhere on YTTV.

Oakland A's? They were pretty exciting when Rollie Fingers and Catfish Hunter were around.

The a's crushed the sox 12-0 when I was a kid and thats the last game I ever went to.

Jose Canseco was handed meatballs to break the record in fenway.

They lost a fan for life that day.

Great QB matchup, was a heck of a game.

Speaking of streams.. I was able to find one for last nights game in a Football discord group I’m in, but does anyone have a good reliable source for the Prime Thursday night games going forward?

Herbert really is the real deal, even with that rib injury he threw a dart to Carter that very few Qb's could make on thier best day!

I was highly impressed with that one.

Yeah, that's them.  I've never been much of a baseball fan, and most of my family and friends who are usually pull for the Giants.  Since they're still bitter about '89 I guess I'm biased for them, lol.

Was your sound out of synch?  My skynet has been acting up lately.  It's probably just becoming sentient.
No, it was fine... probably just interference from the NSA watching the game alongside you.

Already been probed by the DOJ and the FBI, I guess there's no use leaving the NSA out of the fun.  Lips sealed

It was a good game, fun matchup with the two QBs and the division rivalry.

I wouldn’t put too much stock in that Niners Bears game. I’m not sure the Niners are going to be great, but I think they will certainly be better than the Bears lol (not saying much). I drafted Deebo in another league and not sure how I feel about that yet but you’re right without their starting RB he will likely see a lot of action back there, so as long as he stays healthy it should be a positive for him.

Pretty exciting QB matchup between the Coiners and the Rollers today.

Looked pretty touch-and-go with Herbert there for a minute, like he might have suffered some sort of rib injury, but then he managed to shake it off. If he were older, he woulda been out for the rest of the game, and maybe one or two more after that...

Was excited by the prospects of the Chargers beating KC at home, but alas it was not in the cards.

Pretty stoked with Amazon Prime's Thursday Night Football, much higher quality than the average unauthorized stream.

The Chargers still won against the spread, however. It would have been a winning bet with the spread placed on +3.5 during the beginning of the week then a half point move on +4 during the last hours before the game began. There clearly was many unhappy people who bet on the Chiefs hehehe.

That was my fear at first too, but on the replay it looked more like a punch to the gut.  On Herbert's following snap the defender reached around from behind him and targeted that area, lol.

Never considered that a possibility, tbh.  I should have put money on it when were they down 10-0 in the first half.

Honestly the first half giants looked like the worst team in the league lol.  Then they turned it on a couple big plays helped them out.  They went for 2 pts for the lead at the end and luckily titans missed an easy fg.  Either way on the road against last year's #1 seed I will take a win!  However it looks  Grin

It made for a good game, though.  The Saquon show in the second have was cool, and they did get a couple of luck breaks.  Nonetheless, I'd take an ugly win over a pretty loss.

how shall I put it without offending the OP

It didn't work.  Cry

But all kidding aside, I tend to agree for the most part.  Our secondary looked horrible, and there's nothing I've seen from Lance to suggest he was worth the third round pick.  I really hope I'm wrong, but I figure we'll know more after hosting the fired-up Seahawks.  That was such an odd game in Chicago that it's really hard to make an assessment.  If we were to have started the season at home against Seattle, I'd pick the Niners.  But after both teams' performances last week, I'm not so sure.

To your first point, I really hope Mahomes stays healthy all year.  He's the best I have on my fantasy team.

@Hueristic, picking up Taysom Hill as a TE was a smart move.  I almost went for him myself, had a hard time deciding.

Well that sucked, dak out with mangled hands. I guess I deserved that drafting a Dallas qb as a giants fan.  With that being said.......Giants LETS GO!!!!  Alright I guess it's just one game and giants got real lucky but they've been crap for so long I don't know how it feels being undefeated after game 1  Grin

Justin Jefferson.  Dang you do you man.  What a game he had.  And muh boy saquon killed it.  Tonight's game should be awesome with russ going back to Seattle well done nfl well done.

I missed that game, did the giants kick ass or did the titans suck balls or was it somewhere in between?

Can’t believe the Bears won. I put some btc on the Niners but I guess this is one of those times I’m “happy” to have lost the money. Still going to be a shitty season for them but this was impressive.

That was highly unexpected...It was the gods using the weather. Cheesy

Should have started Lions RB, who could have possibly known LOL.

not ME!

Looks at Patterson on bench Cheesy

Well Congrats to the giants and The Bears and someone shoot the Pats for me!

So what's everyone's thoughts after week one? I think it's of course easy to overreact but I feel like we may have gotten a somewhat decent idea of how things might play out for some teams.  Like for example with Green Bay, in our draft I decided to go with Tua over Rodgers for my backup quarterback, because I was scared of Rodgers weapons, or lack there of.  Turned out at least in week one to be the case (which as a bears fan I'm excited about). I think Green Bay is going to really struggle this year thanks to Rodgers being money greedy and unwilling to take a lesser amount to pass along some of the savings to weapons around him.

Just curious if anyone else has any week one observations like that?

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
First week of fantasy football and almost everybody is disappointed in their performance.  Even the winners are disappointed.  And, I said almost everybody is disappointed.  I'll tell you who isn't disappointed; uncle nutildah.  Really, dude?  Saquon Barkley?  Who would have thought!  Be honest, are pre-draft performance-enhancing drugs involved?  Ayahuasca?
I suppose that since I knew I was going to lose after the very first game of this week this changed my perspective and I concentrated myself exclusively with the performance of my team so I'm not really disappointed, it seems that everyone is still healthy which is already a win in my book and even if my starters did not perform as well as they could my bench was very solid which means that I have some room to make adjustments, let's see if I can keep this up because last year my team started doing well but then it fell apart at week five.

I posted the question before he made the touchdown hehehe. Yes I am happy. Tom Brady was throwing everything on Julio Jones for much of the game, however.

Good, I may have to play him next week! Cheesy

It's a marathon tho, not a sprint. The trick is paying attention to who to grab when your players get injured. Which Heuristics already has a lot of experience with. Damn.

*Runs off to scour waiver wire.

It appears that I should have followed how everyone ranked their draft picks instead of trying to speculate and outsmart everyone. Choosing Christian McCaffrey instead of Jonathan Taylor was my biggest mistake and presently my biggest regret. You are welcome Hhampuz hehe.

News update on Lamar's contract extension. This is head shaking. What type of contract does he want with the kind of economy the whole world is presently in. Will this cause Lamar to play better to prove himself for a better contract?

Report: Lamar Jackson turned down long-term deal worth up to $290M with Ravens

Source https://www.sportsnet.ca/nfl/article/report-lamar-jackson-turned-down-long-term-deal-worth-up-to-290m-with-ravens/

It’s week one. Nothing is set in stone, we’ve still got 17 weeks left in the season. I personally would have drafted Taylor but my next pick would be Christian McCaffrey. He’s an extremely versatile running back and he pick it up. Again, we are looking at just one week here. But if you’re truly down on him he can trade him to me! Smiley

Can’t believe the Bears won. I put some btc on the Niners but I guess this is one of those times I’m “happy” to have lost the money. Still going to be a shitty season for them but this was impressive.

Agreed, however, I am very disappointed in my fantasy team being the first participant to pick in the draft. Jonathan Taylor would have me on the lead vs. you this week if I did not speculate on Christian McCaffrey. Next season, my first 6 picks will be the safest picks. Also, I learned that MacCaffrey is prone to injuries hehehe.

In any case, do you have a bag of peanuts? I might trade Cam Akers by week 5 or 6 if Sean McVay decides to use Henderson more than Akers.

Also, where is Mike Evans?

Again, it's week one.  Like I said I would have drafted Taylor of McCaffrey is a star as well and there will be weeks when he scores more than Taylor.  He's also more involved in the passing game than any running back in recent memory (since Matt Forte or so).  He will be fine.   And Evans, what do you mean? He had like 70 yards and a TD.  That's an awesome game.  He will also have some much bigger games. Week one, deep breaths lol

I posted the question before he made the touchdown hehehe. Yes I am happy. Tom Brady was throwing everything on Julio Jones for much of the game, however.

In any case, Cam Akers ruined my first week. I hope week 2 will be better for him after Sean McVay's statements.

Also, I was shocked to see the score was 0 - 7 when I started to watch the game.

I will be disappointed if Penny can't muster 4.6pts this evening but when I say I have the worst luck ever I mean it.  I'm predicting something like 4.2 pts scored, so hence I will then be like everyone else, sour lol.

Congrats to your team starting the season off with a win.  That was actually a good game, and fun to watch...  Except for the part where the Niners lost.  Cry

EVEN my fucking Kicker Carted off on a fucking kickoff!

I'm sorry, but this had me LOLing my ass off.

I don't know how it feels being undefeated after game 1  Grin

I remember our first season with Harbaugh as our coach, I was coming down the mountain, turned on the radio to check the scores, and couldn't believe my ears when I heard the Niners had spanked the Bucs.  It must have been a similar feeling after being used to sucking for so long.

Looks like the Giants pulled off a decent come back, here're the highlights:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrqkDFVyW-0

Was a good game for both teams, I really like Daboll's call to go for two with a bit over a minute left in the game.  The risk paid off, and any time the opposing team misses a field goal as time runs out makes for an instant classic.
