@nutildah Damn man, that's some solid work!!!  I have to say, in all of my years of football and betting, which has been like 10 years or so since I've been really in to gambling, this has been the most difficult year for me hands down.  So many teams are equally shitty or equally up and down, so that's impressive.

KC @ SF, I'm picking the 9ers.  I don't care if I'm wrong, I'm still picking the 9ers.

Lyons @ Vikings is kind of 50/50.  There's really no spread there and the home team almost always favored by 3.  I'm leaning towards the Lyons on this one, they've been tough as nails this year.

The ones that give me pause are the ones with huge spreads, like the Titans @ Buffalo.  When the bills are snapping they'll put up 50 points in three quarters, but when they don't they struggle just to stay in the game.  Even with a bottom of the barrel team like the Titans.  Still, I think I'll take the Bills to cover, but 9 points is more than I'm comfortable with.

Both of those games are way too tough to call.  I know you are a 49ers fan so I'd go with them too.  The lions amd Vikings game should be absolutely awesome for a non fan of either of those teams. I can see those 2 teams along with the 49ers and dare I say the bucs/Falcons are the creme of the nfc.  The NFC East is a dumpster fire right now.  Unless something changes the winner out of the east gets smoked in the playoffs.

I'd say there is no question who's got the best division in football and I'm not sure it's even close.  I mean when the hell have the Lions, Vikings, Bears and Green Bay all been good in a single season.  I would have to lean Lions over Vikings and KC over SF.  I don't know how but Mahomes even after losing his best receiver and his TE not being all the effective this year, still undefeated.  If Jordan Mason doesn't play, that's a big loss to..  Some GREAT games tho.

Bears on bye which I like which means "7 hours of commercial free football starts...soon" lol.

Yeah the north is on fire.

Okay asking for some market research.  I'm still in a survivor pool that started with 1800 people amd we are down to 31.  I have the bills but might want to save them.  2 other teams I'm looking at is the redskins...yeah the redskins.  And Cindy playing the browns.  All 3 very winnable games.  Which one would you guys take.  I'm leaning bills.  They are home against a team who runs out will Levi's under center lol.

Last week I went 13/14 in our local pick'em game; I think some of it was dumb luck and the rest is that 12 of 13 favorites won last week. Also you just have to guess the winner w/o the spread.

Here's my rundown of this week's (close) matches; also for my own notekeeping to see what went right or wrong:

Den vs. NO -- almost an even match, but the line keeps creeping up in Denver's favor, so its now at -3 in some books. Its a home game for the Saints, however, and they have a 2-4 record. I'm thinking they're gonna try extra hard to please the fans, so going with NO.

Sea vs. Atl -- I watched Seattle last week and they looked awful... Before that, they lost to the Giants by 9 pts, WTF. Falcons have been steadily favored by 3 pts, I take them to win and cover.

Hou vs. GB -- Stroud has been on fire and the Texans are having a phenomenal season... 5 and 1? Yet they are still +2.5 underdogs against Packers at home. A toss-up but I like Packers to win simply based on their ability to cover the spread more often than the Texans.

Det vs. Min -- this is a real toss-up, but will the Vikings endure their 1st lost of the season at home? I think not.

KC vs. SF -- the game of the week. KC has been playing near perfectly while SF has been plagued with problems. I think we see a repeat of the last Super Bowl and KC finds a way to win.

NYJ vs. Pit -- who cares? Does anyone really care? No, but you have to pick a team, so I pick the Steelers. I'll root for Aaron Rogers when he's playing a different team.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Super Bowl rematch this weekend.  I'll be out in the mountains hunting deer with my son, so I might miss seeing it live... Maybe.  There's one spot at the very top of THE mountain where I can get pretty decent reception, so I may chill out and watch it on the phone.  Or maybe I'll have filled my tag by then.  Pray for me and the 9ers.

The Jets have traded for WR Davante Adams.

In a move everyone saw coming as Rodgers has become the de facto GM and Coach of the Jets, a trade for Davante Adams has happened, and while the chemistry should still be there, the Jets had to pay a conditional third round pick which could become a second round pick and they had to pick the whole contract from the Raiders, so it is obvious the Jets are going all-in for this season, which is understandable since we do not know for how long Rodgers can keep playing, but even then I am not so sure this move will help them that much, since the number of penalties yesterday shows a lack of discipline difficult to find on the NFL.

My prayers have been answered lol!  Now sitting with both Garrett Wilson, tee Higgins, jjettas and devonte Adams.  The only shame is that I have to bench one of them every week.  Adams tagging back up with his boy Rodgers can't be any worse than the situation he was in.  Will give wilson some breathing room on the other side too.  Hey maybe Cobb comes out of retirement and we get the whole band back together lol.

I fed ChatGPT the league stats and it came up with this summary:

Fantasy Football Weekly Update: South Park Cows and Howdy Nabers Dominate with Perfect Records

As Week 5 of the fantasy football season wraps up, the South Park Cows and Howdy Nabers remain the teams to beat, each boasting an impressive 5-0 record. The South Park Cows lead the pack, sitting comfortably at the top of the standings after a dominant 716.40 points scored (PF) against 527.14 points allowed (PA). With a five-game win streak and 13 moves on the waiver wire, their aggressive management and consistent performance have kept them undefeated.

Right behind them, Howdy Nabers hold the second spot with a similar 5-0 record. While their point total (654.12) trails the Cows, they’ve been just as effective at picking up wins. Despite conceding 564.48 points, their ability to close out games has kept them perfect. They’ve been active in the player market with a league-leading 25 moves, showcasing a strategic approach to staying at the top.

In third place, ChiBitCTy stands at 4-1 after securing a crucial win this week. Their season total of 647.14 PF and a modest 537.36 PA suggests a well-balanced team that can both score and defend. However, their recent struggles and just one win streak show they may need to find a second gear to challenge the league leaders.

I also fed it 3 weeks of future matchups to predict who will be on top at the start of Week 9:

Quote
Prediction for Week 9 Standings:

South Park Cows (8-0): Based on their favorable matchups, I predict the South Park Cows will remain undefeated, leading the league.
Howdy Nabers (8-0): Howdy Nabers should also win their next three games and stay tied with the South Park Cows at the top.
Both teams will likely remain undefeated at 8-0 by Week 9, but South Park Cows might stay in first due to a higher Points For (PF) if the trend of scoring more points continues. Therefore, I predict the South Park Cows will hold onto the top spot.

Apparently you can feed it all the data for each week of play and it will help you come up with ways to improve your team. Of course, its always based on past performance, not the likelihood of players doing better or worse than expected.

LMAO...see why I'm always bickering with people who talk about "AI" around here Nut? What struggles, I am 5-1.  What that mofo should have typed out is ChiBitCTy has excelled (to this point) despite losing the #1 pick in the draft before the season even started, also losing a top 10 receiver in Rice as well as basically losing a top 15 receiver in Waddle due to QB having his 1,194 concussion.

Tho I got Chubb back this week, apparently, CMC hopefully eventually...watch out boys and girls Smiley   (just for talking hype here I will undoubtedly lose every single game going forward lol)

Welp I had a good streak of one win and now gotta face the mighty cows.

Can't complain too much though, somehow I was able to hold on to 4th place until now despite having only half the wins of the top dogs... or top cows as it were.

Congrats to Brewers for breaking their streak.

I don't know exactly how NFL flex scheduling is supposed to work, but really wished they'd moved the WAS/BAL game from 1.00 pm slate to SNF/MNF. Both Lamar and Jayden Daniels are playing lights out, it's the closest thing to must-see TV.

It is not very likely my team will go undefeated for much longer, until recently I had not only the easiest schedule on the league, according to the records I had the easiest schedule during the three seasons we had played at yahoo, also once week 6 is over I will play all the teams currently on the playoff picture in order and then I will face you, in my opinion you have the best team currently not on the playoffs, for those reasons I would think losing a few games during that span is inevitable.

Injuries are the factor that these models can't predict.  All it takes is ypu (or your opponent) to habe a player who is one of your top point getters to go down for a period of time.  I have never used any of those predictor models for future expected outcome but would be interested in what it spit out.  I need Sunday to come this week has been too long!

Man. I feel already done for the season. Everything crumbled apart for my team and I am currently striving for mediocrity. I need to start getting information from outside the Yahoo! fantasy bubble. Everyone makes moves based on what they have to say about each player, but what if what their analyses are wrong. Being in an ESPN league as well, I gotta tell you, its not much better. At least I'm 2-2 in that league.

Lol life of a fantasy football player.  By week 8 half your team is always a couple guys ypu drafted amd then rest off your bench or from waivers lol.  It's beyond frustrating.  Lost aaron jones amd achane so far this week.  Waiting for the next guy to drop.

With that being said the Deshaun Watson trade has to be officially the worst trade ever made in the NFL.  That dude is beyond terrible and is going to pin clevlamd down for a good part of this decade.  All that money, all those draft picks.  Houston fleeced crazy and ended up with CJ lol
They are waiting for him to be charged again and I think they have something in his contract that get's them outta some of that deal. They were dumb as hell either way for even making that deal, but if they can get out of it they are going to. Cleveland just can't really do anything right and haven't for many years. Solid defense last few years but the offense is always hit and miss.

I forget the actual stats but it was something crazy like 15 or so differemt starting quarterbacks in 20 years or something before deshaun.  I think that's why they went all in.  I'd say it wasn't a bad deal if he was just coming off of those pro bowl years with Houston but they knew he'd sit for a whole year and that he was a summer of a person.  Maybe take a stab at home but hundreds of millions of dollars AND I think 2l3 years worth of first rounders.  That will kill anytime unless he ends up the next tom brady.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
Damn, just got a notification on my phone that Nico Collins is out for at least 4 weeks.  Nico is/was having a top 3 wide receiver performance so far and looked prime to keep it going.  I swear so many of my studs just can't stay healthy.

It would be really nice to get CMC back at some point in the next month or so.  Not having your number 1 pick at all to start the season stinks!

If I were in your shoes I'd be hoping he doesn't come back till the playoffs as it hasn't hurt you with him on Ir and it hasn't helped me having Mason. Lol

According to the reports I have read, CMC could be back against the Buccaneers on week 10, since it seems the 49ers do not want to rush his return and they want to give him as much time to recover.

Giants going into Seattle and curb stopping Seatle was funny.  In a survivor pool and Seattle wrecked pretty much everyone left.  The niners did a number on the pool as well.  Can't believe I didn't move Singletary out for tank before out game in another league.  Fantasy is just so brutal sometimes lol.

It's kind of amazing how well the Giants have been playing of late.  They started off looking like potentially the worst team in football, and now they just look like ONE OF , but not THE, worst team in football lol.  Nabers is sure one heck of a player to watch.  I own him in one of my leagues.  My work league that did an auto-draft which otherwise I wouldn't own him at all so I'm glad I was able to get him in at least on league.  Dude looks special.
