@DireWolf. Congratulations!

edit: It appears this Chargers team does not want to enter the playoff hehehe. The lost their mometum during near the end of the 1st half because of the penalties they have commited. I assumed the penalties would stop, however, they commited more and gave all the advantage to the Raiders.

In any case, this is only Justin Herbert’s 2nd year, next season should be the season he brings his team to the playoff. He has the talent, no more excuses for him.

@suchmoon. Yes it was a very good game for the 49’ers. It is head shaking why Jimmy Garoppolo cannot play like that for the whole season. He showed the team that they cannot trade him next season hehehe. Unless maybe if it was the massage man with lawsuits.

How much are the prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places? I reckon next season the participant ending his season in the bottom should throw a small amount of money in the pot? This will make everyone play until the end of the season hehehe.

In any case, for the next game does anyone speculate that Justin Herbert will throw under 278.5 passing yards? Las Vegas passing defense was good for their last 3 games.

San Francisco 49’ers might win this in overtime. Are they in the playoff if they win? Jimmy Garappolo is playing  a very good game. He deserves another season in the team if he brings them him to the playoff, I reckon. Trey Lance might not perform like this under the same pressure.

Yes, niners are in. If they had lost, they would've been out of playoffs because Saints won today.

Stafford the Interceptor (wait, that's not quite right... the Interceptee? whatever...) tried really hard but even he was unable to screw up my match. I might be able to hold on to that 3rd place after all.

Edit: congratulations DireWolfM14 with the 2021 World League Championship title. With my strategic loss to Maddogs in the semifinals I dodged a real nail biter here:

@South Park. For fantasy it will be Renfrow versus Ekeler. This is the battle of avoiding the bottomest of bottom hehehe.

Yeah both of the teams had to press a tie did nothing for them.  So it's Pitt and the winner of tonight's game unless it's a tie then yes both of tonight's teams get in.  If they played for a tie the rest of the league would slaughter them.  They could technically both kneel and guarantee themselves in.  Imagine being at that game 😂

What is all this chaos... I just stepped away for a few hours and Lions win, Jaguars win, even Steelers are still alive.

I need Josh Jacobs to play so drop this kneeling nonsense at once  Grin

I'm glad the Colts are out of the playoffs, they cost me a ship in the other forum league last week with mediocre fantasy performance, and with that loss today some sizeable bets. Jeez. I wish i've seen that stat before the game:

I was wondering what would have happened if the Steelers / Ravens tied?

A tie would have eliminated both the Steelers and the Ravens, at least that's what Scott Hanson on NFL Redzone said during the game. Ben had to throw (and completed to Ray-Ray McCloud) on 4th and long with 2mins to go, they had no other option.

The Colts are really dropping the ball, the Jaguars have a lead of 23-3 on the third quarter on a game that is decisive for them, are they missing a bunch of players or something? Because even if the Colts are not a super team or anything like that losing against the Jaguars is without a doubt unexpected, now if the Colts lose and the Steelers lose as well, as it is the case at the moment, then the Raiders are in the playoffs, leaving the Chargers and the Ravens to fight for the last spot available.

Yeah that definitely makes today's later games interesting.  The indy loss keeps Pitt or Baltimore hopes alive whoever wins that game.  Who figured jags gonna beat indy with a playoff spot on the line and Detroit looking to upset green Bay.  Wierd way to end the season for sure.

Well to be fair Greenbay sat most their players but No-one Saw the Jags Beating the snail snot out of the colts!

Yeah true and good on Detroit for coming out to win.  They could have layer it down and got the number 1 pick in the draft not that there is much of a difference between 1 and 2 this year.  But yeah the jags I thought were dead money.  Indy completely collapsed.  They can still get in but they need some help from other teams.

I've compiled a list of player contract incentives, players close to reaching personal milestones and/or breaking league records heading into Week 18. Thought it might be helpful if you are looking to bet on something over the weekend. I like J.Taylor for 2 tuddies a 100 yards and Colts to cover the spread. Gronk is expected to have a busy day.  Cheesy  There is more in the links down below, i've handpicked some of those that i like the most. Kinda tricky with league records being broken and players having an extra gameweek.

Quote
Player Contract Incentives

Rob Gronkowski: Gronk needs 7 catches, 85 yards, & 3 TDs in Week 18. 55 Catches: $500k; 750 Yards: $500k; 9 TD: $500k

Stefon Diggs: Six more catches would add $750,000

Chris Jones: one sack away from $1.25 million

A.J. Green: extra $250,000 if he reaches 900 yards (825); $250,000 if he hits 60 catches (50)

Dante Fowler Jr: half-sack away from $1 million; 2 and a half-sacks away from $2 million

Marvin Jones Jr. : sitting at 66 catches, needs four receptions for $500,000 and 14 receptions for $1 million.

Records and milestones

Ja’Marr Chase needs 45 yards to break the single-season rookie record (Bill Groman’s 1,473 from 1960).

Ezekiel Elliott is just 85 rushing yards shy of 1,000.

Marquise Brown is 19 yards away from reaching 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

Jonathan Taylor is 266 yards shy of 2,000 rushing and 2 TDs shy of 20 total rushing TDs. JT went for 30/253/2 against the Jags’ in Week 17 last year.

Cooper Kupp is 136 yards shy of breaking Calvin Johnson’s all-time yardage record and needs 171 yards to reach 2,000 – which is absurd. Kupp also needs 12 receptions to break Michael Thomas’ single-season receptions record of 149 set in 2019.

Matthew Stafford needs 352 passing yards to reach 5,000 yards for the second time in his career, and he needs two TD passes to reach 40.

Elijah Mitchell is 122 rushing yards shy of 1,000.

George Kittle needs 100 receiving yards to reach 1,000 yards for the season.

Christian Kirk is 61 yards away from 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

Austin Ekeler is 153 yards away from 1,000 rushing.

Justin Herbert is 369 yards away from 5,000 passing.

Derek Carr is 382 yards away from 5,000 passing.

Mike Evans needs 54 yards to extend his NFL record for the most seasons with 1000 receiving yards to open a career to eight straight seasons.

Javonte Williams is 143 rushing yards shy of 1,000.

Kyle Pitts needs 59 yards to break the all-time rookie record for a tight end.

Jaylen Waddle needs three catches to break Anquan Boldin’s rookie record of 101 catches.

DK Metcalf is 91 yards shy of 1,000.

Terry McLaurin is only 40 yards shy of 1,000 receiving yards

Antonio Gibson needs 109 rushing yards to reach 1,000 yards.

Darnell Mooney is 71 yards away from hitting 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

I wish we can find the information for player incentives during the beginning of next season hehe. This will be very useful for betting on player props which appear to be more winnable than the spread and betting on over or under the total scores.

Also, why is the Ravens 1.52 and the Steelers 2.55. I thought Lamar Jackson will not play?

In any case, NFL experts, will Ben Roethlisberger make over 225.5 passing yards?

It appears that I will be finishing our league in the bottomest of the bottom hehehe. I was honestly not playing anymore as proven that I have not been changing my line up or going to the waiver wire to trade in better players.

In any case, it was fun for my first time and a good learning experience. I cannot wait for the next season’s draft hehe! In 7 months?

It takes a coue of times to get some of the nuances down.  The draft is key.  You can't win though on just a solid draft.  Need to be active all year checking out the waiver wire, looking at possible trades.  Know who to start and sit during certain games, etc.  Either way first time or 100th time there still is luck that needs to be on your side.  Especially with this covid thingy Smiley

It's always better to be lucky than good (that's my strategy this weekend, lol.)  I think luck plays a huge part in it, but it's impossible to quantify.  If I had been matched up with suchmoon in the simi finals I would have lost.

If you think of FF as a way to measure your knowledge of football, I think you'll be disappointed.  I think it has little do with knowledge of the game.  A significant portion of success in FF is keeping yourself appraised of the players on your squad, and their respective opponents each week.  It's an interactive way to stay appraised of other teams around the league, and adds some interest in their performances.  Something to complement following your favorite/local team.  If you find that enjoyable, then you're a winner regardless of the outcome.

In fact you are ahead on our match so you could actually beat me without lifting a finger hehe, still I will say that FF was more fun than I thought so I am looking forward to the next season as well.

It appears I am leading hehehe. I did not check ESPN until I read your reply. I also stopped watching the game minutes after the 3rd quarter began. I did not see Najee Harris’ touchdown. My Najeeee hehehe.

Next game week, I shall play Ekeler with Najee! It will be the Raiders vs. the Chargers, the winner will go to the playoff, the loser will be out.

@wheelz1200. Agreed! However, I certainly would have more points if I did a better draft. I want it to be the new season already!

In any case, I read this article published on Decrypt. It appears FTX and crypto.com will be advertising during the superbowl hehe. They might be doing this to attract the sportsbettors to gamble in the cryptospace for 2022. Which might also be the beginning of the bear market hehehe.

Crypto.com and FTX have already announced they will air ads during this year's Super Bowl on February 13. Companies are shelling out up to $6.5 million for 30 seconds of air time. By contrast, a typical 30-second spot for a regular season game would go for between $500,000 and $1 million.

Advertising to sports fans has several advantages in addition to the numbers above, according to sports marketing professor and researcher Kirk Wakefield. First, there's evidence that sports fans are more receptive to ads. A YouGov poll found that they are more likely to enjoy watching ads with favorite celebrities and use advertising in their calculus of what products to buy. Moreover, that ad money can go even further when advertisers act as team sponsors.
