Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
I'm a genius, decided to listen to the pundits instead of myself and last second pulled Zay Jones for Higgins and Monty for Bam Knight.

Good luck to everyone today. Even though in this league I'm well already out of it lol, I do have another league where I'm fighting for a playoff spot so if you're in the same position...I wish you the best of luck!

I had to start some real ugly players today like Chris Moore the WR for the Texans (thank you for that Deebo Samuel injury).  Had some really tough decision too between guys like Kenneth Walker, Stevenson, and Dobbins.

Can you guys believe the season is almost already over. Time flies!

I will admit that when I read the first paragraph of that comment yesterday I thought those were recommendations for the Fantasy League of next year, and I was like, is this person suggesting we go back to the previous division system, cut the number of participants to just eight and implement a new playoff structure?

Then I read the second paragraph and I could not make heads or tails about it, so I read your comment about “a bot going mad” and it dawned on my that someone was just copy and pasting.

There may be that each team in either division plays each of their divisional rivals twice; once away and once at home. They also played every team in the other divisions once, for a total of ten games. The two teams with the highest winning percentages in each division will face each other again for one playoff game, then the two remaining teams play for the league championship.

However it doesn't seem like a lot of points were scored, which is a bit of a meh, but let's see. Landry Jones is set to start for Dallas, while LA will have Chad Kanoff in the middle - never heard of that name. Wikipedia says, that he was signed by the Cardinals as an unplanned FA and also remains with the Lions and Bucs. But he didn't go beyond training squads with these teams. Maybe it'll take a small kick in Dallas.

Is this a bot that went mad?

It seems like he was recently unfrozen in time from 2020, but its actually simpler than that.

They have two divisions, Western and Eastern, each with four teams.  Each team in either division plays each of their divisional rivals twice; once away and once at home.  They also play each team in the other division once, for ten total games.  The two teams with the highest win percentage in each division face each other again for the one playoff game, then the two remaining teams play for the league championship.

Will watch my first XFL game today, when the LA Wildcats host the Dallas Renegades Grin

I have no idea what to expect tbh. From the previous results, it looks like there is not a lof of points scored, which is a bit meh, but lets see. Landry Jones is set to start for Dallas, while LA will have Chad Kanoff under center - never heard that name. Wikipedia says, that he was signed by the Cardinals as undrafted FA and also stayed with the Lions and the Bucs. But he didn't get beyond practice squad with these teams. Will probably have a small punt on Dallas.

My first comment was "who let all the fucking hippies in?"

The 2nd or 3rd rave I ever went to was in Oakland, and there were indeed hippies there. So like a lot of young people in their early 20s and then a lot of people in their 50s and 60s. It was supposed to be in San Francisco but it got moved at the last minute. I remember I was staying at my girlfriend's place in Marin County and when her dad found out we had gone to Oakland he was like "AAAAAAAAAA"

It was an odd rave in that the drug of choice was LSD -- we didn't have any, had to experience the whole thing sober. What's funny is the police still found it and pointed a flashlight in everybody's eyes to see if they were trippin.

One particular property had a "trip-out" shed built among the trees, it was one of those optical illusion rooms with trapezoidal walls.

The ratio of her leg length to circumference suggests she might still be a giant. I'm guessing at least 6 foot.

Are you sativa roller? If so, best name in the league hands down Smiley  Used to love me some of Dead too. I was a big fan of theirs even as a little kid. I remember their music video with puppets coming on TV as a kid, hence where my fandom started.

Yeah, that's me.  My record suggests I may have rolled too much sativa, but I will neither confirm or deny the accuracy of such a suspicion.

Yeah, I've been a fan of the Grateful Dead since I was 15 years old.  My parents had no idea who they were, but growing up the northern Bay Area nearly all my friends' parents were longtime fans so I got exposed early.  I thought they were a bluegrass band until I was 17 when I went to see them for the first time.  It was at the Oakland Colosseum, which was notorious for parties in the parking lot whenever the band played.  My first comment was "who let all the fucking hippies in?"

A couple of the band members owned properties in the town where I grew up.  No one lived on the properties at the time, by then they all owned nice houses in $outh Marin.  One particular property had a "trip-out" shed built among the trees, it was one of those optical illusion rooms with trapezoidal walls.  We waisted a lot of time exploring what we called "Dead Land." *

* I know I just publicly admitted to trespassing (when I was a minor,) but it's a Marin County cultural thing.  In fact, most ranchers in Marin provide convenient access points for the general public which also prevent their livestock from wandering off.  Look into James Hetfield's (Metallica lead singer) struggles with Marin County over people trapesing across his property.  He fought (and lost) that culture war.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Deebo have a bit of a history of being injured? He’s certainly has this year at least. I’m really going to need him in one of my other leagues if I have any chance at making a run for the championships (which I doubt with all the injuries I’ve had this year).

He was wrecking ball last year, but yeah he's been plagued with a hamstring injury for the majority of this year.  So have I, btw, but I'm paid much less and my hamstring has no impact on my job duties.  Getting old sux.

As for your Fantasy Leagues, I think you can write Deebo off for the remainder of the fantasy season.  If he does play again this year it probably won't be until Week 18.

Yeah that’s going to be one heck of a game this weekend. Even with all the injuries I’m kinda surprised to see the Niners still favored by over 3 points at the moment. Can’t wait for this showdown.

As long as Bosa, CMC, and Mr Irrelevant stay healthy I think we'll be fine.  Deebo is obviously an important part of the offense, but mostly on novelty plays.  He's super fast, so he'll be misses as a standard slot receiver also, but none of that is insurmountable from the team's perspective.

As for our fantasy league, I'm in the running for last place!  I guess it's fitting since I won the championship last year...  I feel like the Rams.  Cry

Oh yeah I’m aware of how great Deebo was last year.  I wouldn’t just classify him as a gadget player though. He means a lot to that offense and with him gone that’s going to make Aiyuks job all the more difficult. I can’t see them going very far personally, but we shall see.

Yay, I got a star... or an asterisk or whatever Smiley

Meaning I'm totally definitely in the playoffs.

Jerkers didn't get a star but I'm quite sure there is no plausible way to knock them off - they'd have to lose the last game (possible), three other teams would have to win their games (possible, since none of them are playing each other), and Corpse would have to win against Jerkers AND outscore them by ~170 points (this part seems impossible).

That leaves two playoff spots and three teams fighting for those spots, all with 8-6 win-loss record: Barbarians, Cows, Corpse. I think the scenarios are quite obvious here, and we will definitely need tiebreakers no matter how it turns out.

So again, Corpse being quite low on total points, need a win and some luck, or a lot of luck if they don't win but it's quite difficult to imagine a scenario where they don't win while scoring 90 points more than Cows, so yeah - they need a win and hope for at least one of the other two teams to lose.

  1. All 3 teams lose - three-way tie, the one with lowest total points doesn't get into playoffs.
  2. Two teams lose - two-way tie, the one with lower total points doesn't get into playoffs.
  3. One team loses - that team doesn't get into playoffs, and a tiebreaker needed for positions 3-4.
  4. All 3 teams win - same as #1.

Additional tiebreakers might be needed if Jerkers lose but as mentioned above they have a ton of points so will probably hold on to 2nd place. If Coiners lose, Jerkers would need to win and gain ~60 points to take the #1 spot.

Without Deebo, I'm just not sure that the Niners will have much of a chance.  I mean without their starting quarterbacks I'm not sure they had a chance, but especially now.  Will be a lot to have to overcome.

It's a high ankle sprain, so he'll likely be out for at least three weeks I'm guessing.  Hopefully he's back before the playoffs.  He'll be missed for sure, there are a bunch of tricky plays that just wouldn't work without him.

The only game that I'm really concerned about is this Thursday at Seattle.  If we win that one we clinch the NFC west, so that guarantees the 3rd seed at least.  The rest of the season looks fairly easy with the Commies at home, a trip to Vegas, then the Cards at home.

I'm trying to keep my enthusiasm from getting the better of me, but HOW ABOUT THEM 9ERS?!?!?

Our defense kept the GOAT guessing all day, and our quite relevant rooky QB is looking like he's got a great career ahead of him.  Last week as I watched Garoppolo being carted off the field, I was sure our season was going right along with him.  Somehow, I think our chances of reaching the playoffs (and winning) just got better.

Speaking of Garoppolo, did anyone see him on the sideline yesterday?  Neither did I.  Undecided

I'm extremely impressed with how well the 49rs have been playing despite the fact that they've lost both of their starting quarterbacks.  However... you've all heard me bitch about injuries in my other leagues so far this year..well add Deebo Samuel to that list.  Without Deebo, I'm just not sure that the Niners will have much of a chance.  I mean without their starting quarterbacks I'm not sure they had a chance, but especially now.  Will be a lot to have to overcome.

@Moon-  nice game.  I was spouting off how you can't just look past my team as it's still pretty good/competitive and then I go drop an 80pt game  Cheesy.   What an ugly season for me in this league.

Will leave the ff talk aside since I've been left in the dust.  The first half of the giants game was brutal probably the worst game of the year for them.  I mean injuries sucl and it's showing on the defensive side but are the Eagles this good?  I thought the beginning of the season they'd flatten out a bit but they seem to be getting better.  As a giants fan I hate to say this but jalen hurts is the real deal.  Dude plays almost flawlessly out there, makes me think giants should part ways with Jones this offseason and start over...again.  uhg.  Such a good start to the year coming back to earth now.

My team is actually playing pretty well right now.  I've got 22pts with Joe Burrow, 14pts with AJ Brown, 15pts with Najee Harris and struggling a bit 4.6 pts with Diggs, but still that's a pretty nice start to the game yet I'm already projected to lose with a win probability percentage of 27%.  I swear lol.  Not to mention your defense right now is currently -1 points.

Such has been my season.  Not catching too many breaks.  Still a lot of game left, but well played so far Moon!

Yeah I was kinda worried that playing Chase against Burrow might backfire if he decides to start passing to someone else but no, they still like each other Smiley

Edit: I'm just reading now what happened to Higgins and it's all a bit sketchy... he should have been "out", the team knew he wasn't gonna play. Kinda screwed up Hueristic's game.

Titans defense though... ewww.
