While I'm not at all happy with the way Tom is handling this, I also think the comparisons to pirate are unjustified. Intent is clearly missing as well as most of the harm.

At this point he is exactly like pirate...
Unless we start seeing BTC refunds...

Well, I don't remember Pirate refunding 2/3rds of what was owed before running off with the rest, but I could be wrong.

Taken straight from bitcoinasic.net

Transparency
We strive on a daily basis to keep our customers updated every step of the way and our focus is to provide premium customer service, customer support, and customer contact that is rivaled by no competitor.

Tom hasn't posted anything since January 23rd.  He should be held accountable to that.  Paying back BTC isn't hard.  If he wanted to, he'd just buy more from the funds he received for his initial orders and it should be even easier since he's only refunding the USD value and BTC has climbed so much since we ordered with him.  I'm sure a lot you would like the choice of putting your coins towards avalon or someone instead at this time.

I know that just about everyone on the forums knows that bAsic is dead but it appears that the site is still up and taking orders:

https://www.bitcoinasic.net/

Huh?

Is it just me or did Tom / the bAISC team forget to take down the page when they folded?

The lack of btc refunds are obvious. Can you prove that he ever intends to refund the btc? Other than people saying "It's coming". There is 0 proof as to how far, or even if he ever laid any groundwork to the project. For all we know he intended to build one and that is as far as he got. It's been over 3 weeks for me and I know I am tired of waiting, along with the others. His silence doesn't make him look any better either.

We all let pirate get away with robbery on a larger scale...is anyone going to try and do anything about making tom pay back before it becomes random talk about him being in Thailand?

I have full faith that I will receive my BTC refund in due time from Tom/BTCFPGA.

I will continue to hold to this faith until the BTC which are rightly due to me and promised to me by Tom are returned.

I've seen that same sentence before. Only it was about pirate.

Where is "team tommy" today?

They join him at the bar?  Flip over the stool and bottoms up!

He has had more than enough time to refund BTC.  Just imagine how it would be right now if Dave didn't practically do all the work and provide him a list..

Sadly you're not being unreasonable. Plenty of time has passed for Tom to have at the very least told former investors something. Even if he said...dangit I'm broke and need more time it'd be better than the wall of silence act.

Don't worry, I'm sure once Tom's BFL ASICs arrive he'll pay everyone back...

Seriously though, I think its time to start the scammer accusation thread. Let me know if I'm still being unreasonable jgarzik.

Are there anyone from BTCFPGA? Many times I have asked for refunding via built-in form and once via email. No answer.
My preorder number is 1980, my Return ID: #31 Wallet for refunding is 1dice198ApGrvP8VR2pAJjen8kkhyF9mG
Also I banned on your forums, so I cant ask there.

Are you sure you copied that correctly? I'm not sure you want your refund going to SatoshiDice.
Sorry, I copied from the wrong place, from Transactions instead Receive coins. Correct wallet for refund is 1CTer3ER7SzUNsjk6ctN8yWWy4asoWBXmG

Tom, how about you respond? No actions is what we got back then when you told us to wait for your asics. Now no actions is what we get when you told us to wait for our btc. Will this end like asics? No bitcoins from you?

Stop the crap and act. At least respond, open the forums, say or do something - god damn, its not that hard after all.

I doubt Tom would be much of a challenge to find if it was a face to face confrontation one sought.

finally. now we're talking.

I'm not suggesting we lynch Tom, but if he think he can hide behind the anonymity bitcoin provides he is wrong. This really is fucking bullshit.

I don't know. I thought they don't let visitors into rehab centers.

is anyone able to track down Tom in person for a better explanation?  He had posted pics of his office in NY before.

I mean he took a sizeable sum, but it's not enough to run away and retire on an island so he's still gotta be around somewhere.
