I think both Las Vegas and Macau have a big fan of gambling, but we don't know for sure how big the fan. Both Las Vegas and Macau makes a lot of money from gambling, and that makes two places will be a heaven for the gamblers. But still, there is no valid info or data that will show the biggest places that gamble the most because the data or info will always change. Maybe in the next year, that list can change as the government gives the casino a chance to reopen their business.

Las Vegas is awesome, it's always such a great trip and vacation. I haven't been to Macau yet but I want to check it out after all the corona madness is over. In terms of online casinos the data might change easily, because people can switch around to other casinos very quickly. But seeing new cities such as Las Vegas or Macau is not very realistic I believe, because it takes a huge infrastructure to support such a gambling environment. You need fancy hotels, a good airport, nice restaurants and shops. Going to Vegas is not only about gambling, but also about all the goodies around it, like great dinners, awesome pool parties, nice clubs, etc.

You've been to Las Vegas? I envy you mate, it's been my dream to be in that gambling place but until now it's still a dream. If I have enough budget to go abroad, I'll certainly not miss that pace, it's alright to lose money as long as I can enjoy the place and feel the atmosphere inside the casino.
There're numerous spots around the world has famous for gambling. Without any thoughts Las Vegas one of the biggest and well known gambler cities and I dare to say if there any casino players exist could miss the make a trip there. I heard a lot of interesting things about Las Vegas through internet and I've same feeling as like yours.

When you are into that place, you'll not only enjoy gambling but you'll also enjoy going to different bar. I have watch a lot of movies about gambling and saw how fun to be in Las Vegas, ever watch a comedy movie entitled the hangover, I want to experience what they experience, lol, it's a different level of fun.

I think the difference between the two sites is that the first site shows statistics on spending by citizens of the country, and the second site shows the amount of money earned by casinos. It's no secret that Las Vegas is located in the USA, which attracts people from all over the world to its casinos like a magnet. That is why the United States is the first in the ranking for receiving money in casinos. In second place is China, because there is Macau, which recently surpassed Las Vegas in terms of money earned.

Both countries from 2 sources have a big value of money so they will be surely the top 1. But if you look on Asian countries, there are large number of gamblers too. Some of them even spend more money on gambling than their daily needs. Like here in the Philippines, some people will choose to gamble than prioritze their money to buy food or other needs. Some don't even bother paying electricity bills so they end up no electricity when deadline comes. That kind of people always think that they would win if they gamble, they don't realize how much they lose already.

But the good thing is we are not in the top ten. Like I mentioned before, I am actually curious as how these sites got their data and how they were able to get the statistics that were shown. We do know many likes to spend on the lotto and cockfights and rarely do I see people bet on horse races and also the poker joints and casino that can be found in the major cities like Manila, Pasay and Paranaque. If we can get a hold of the statistics of gambling in the country then we should be able to make more conclusions about the gambling habits of the Filipino gamblers.

It is really no surprising as the gambling cities of Macau in China and Las Vegas in America are in these countries and there is really an active gambling industry there.
But you still cant compare Las Vegas with Macau because operating an online casino in Macau is still illegal the last time i checked.

The List is not fully accurate because some countries still missing in the list. Nigeria is not listed among . West Africa Nigeria is a country where gambling has almost turned to means of peoples livelihood. Another country that love Gambling which is not among the list is China . Chinese people are lovers of gambling and contributed so much to the global gambling industry .
This won't be accurate but this is based on the statistics and those statistics came from registered casinos. As far as I know, there are many gamblers in Nigeria but the casino there is not well regulated and many illegal casinos are operating there.

I am also thinking why China isn't included, Their Gambling city Macau is the Las Vegas aike in Asia.

Yeah, Macau is much bigger compared to those which can be found on Vegas and revenues is five time higher compared to it.

If macau is x5 Higher revenues compared to las vegas meaning that the List was not really the real score?if that 5x higher in revenue so as the Bets and even if we consider half it will still covers the rank number 1.

and when there is a Bigger amount of betting then the Loser will need to be in part?
but at least we have comparison now to prove that Macau must be credited of those ranking 1.

There are lots of places which cant really be included or listed due to legality issues but for sure they are
really existing which means these numbers are just partial on the actual gambling field.

Looking at the chart those are really bigger country so the chance of being in top is considerate also those government are gambling supporter .

good to know, but it would be better if you could share the most recent study conducted about it. both the study you posted was released in a different year. one is in 2017 and the other is in 2016.
Was about to say the same thing before i see that you have already mentioned it and according to my research about the countries that gamble the most US is leading the chart which is reasonable judging by the gambling activities done alone in Sin City.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
have you ever wondered which are the countries where gambling is more popular?

and in which people lose more money for gambling?

this website gives us a clue about it.

Quote
Rank   Country   Gaming Losses Per Adult
1   Australia   $1,288.00
2   Singapore   $1,174.00
3   Ireland   $588.00
4   Canada   $568.00
5   Finland   $553.00
6   Italy   $517.00
7   Hong Kong   $503.00
8   Norway   $448.00
9   Greece   $420.00
10   Spain   $418.00

do you live in any of these countries? it'd be nice to hear more on the opinions of someone who knows the gambling scene on each place.

this other website tell a slightly different story

To me the second graphic makes way more sense, especially since in the first one the US, China and England do not appear when it should be obvious there is a strong gambling culture in those three countries, still it is interesting to see and think about it, it seems that for the most part the countries that gamble the most are those that are the most developed, which should not be a surprise since you need to have some spare cash in order to gamble at all.

In this list, I am missing my country though crypto currency isn't allowed here and gambling is also restricted. By the way, love to see some Asian countries here in the top list. China is the big player in this list from Asia which contribute a lot in gambling sites which is a great thing for the whole gambling industry. I will be more pleased if the number one will be from Asia.

There's no need to be upset
Most, if not all, of the top 10 countries that gamble the most are developed countries. This ranking must also reflect the kind of lifestyle they have in these countries. It means that people have some extras or surplus in their money because they have the luxury to spend an amount in gambling.

Poor countries may have a lot of gamblers also but they must be severely limited by the amount they can afford to lose or gamble.

we must consider too that many countries that are not on the first world have forbidden gambling, like Brazil.

and in other countries like many in Africa we probably lack enough data for taking conclusions.

I live in Italy and I am not surprised to see my country listed in both ranks Sad (4° and 6° place) since there are many people that play scratch cards / lotto each years losing a fortune (billions of euro are played yearly).
another problem is connected to taxation of gambling since some groups have strong privilege. to avoid that people lose to much money it has been introduced a disclaimer in each scratch cards (like tobacco) and advertisement is now prohibited in mass media.
If you closely put Italy's data into perspective (considering the ratio of players per GDP) our country probably goes in first position (which, of course, is no merit). And the State earns huge profits while a herd of desperate people lose wages, savings and their lives.

That's what i am thinking, they belong to some prosperous country and continent, so I think losing this amount is not yet a big thing to them , they can easily get this amount very quickly in a moment of time they can double it, but what I want to know is how much taxes do they paid? Is it same to other countries ? Does USA tax for gamblers payout is same or each country has their own amount of taxes?

There is also a difference between gambling in a casino and gambling on a gambling site to bet on sports.
You should actually also subdivide that to get an even better picture.
