Yes, in my opinion there is a good side and a bad side, in some countries gambling are prohibited and the user can even be arrested, on the other hand gambling can help the country's economy to develop and attract tourists, for example Las Vegas

If they only see it that way, other government see it as more than addiction that need to stop and can destroy individual life for long time  if they continue playing or gambling. Although that's a self decision not by  the government but they want to help them  to stop by doing it illegal .

Some of them just want to stop the illegal gambling but still, we know that they want only is the legal gambling with permits and other papers, is this quite fair? Because those illegal gambling does not have tax so the government wants to take down them. Well, I think it's just good because we are preventing illegal but at the same time how about the people who get caught just want to play? Just my thought.

At the end of the day, I will agree with legal gambling because there are a lot of people enjoying this without worrying about lawfulness.

There's always a bad side of things if used excessively even food can be bad too but there are lots of people who take everything excessively especially those things that have given them bad results. If you play more than you have then that will fell into addiction and when you think of it every day, then that falls into addiction too. This is where most people fall into, they cannot control their desire, and most of the time they affected some people with that kind of mindset too. Those countries are top to those kinds of people.

Gambling can only help the economy if the owner will legalize their business and submit all necessary requirements to get a license as well pay all the taxes without doing any illegalities when it comes in their obligations to the government. But what if she other greedy businessmen who didn't comply those important things and all pay corrupt politician as a bribe for their protection do you think it's beneficial to the countries economy?

That's the reason why some countries heavily regulated gambling and targeted those illegal operators. It was being shown on some news especially in the European region.

You are right. It's useless that a gambling activity in a certain country is heavily demanded but there are companies that are running under the table.

The government can't take advantage fully of the possible revenue they can get from these gambling operators. I just wonder why they just did this now instead of doing actions prior to pandemic.

That's unfair to those business who've been staying faithful towards the government regulations. Then we've heard stories like that bribing some under the table money. How did this continue to exist, is there any independent groups who can expose this kind of illegalities?  I just can't imagine how gambling really tempt government officials deal with it badly, and authority can't solve it when conspiracy still persist.

The bribing stories will always exist, but we are hard to prove it because they will hide their business from others, even from their government itself. I am sure independent groups work to find the illegalities, but it is not easy as they need to search for many places and proves before they can found that activity.

2   Singapore   $1,174.00
3   Ireland   $588.00
4   Canada   $568.00
5   Finland   $553.00

8   Norway   $448.00

do you live in any of these countries? it'd be nice to hear more on the opinions of someone who knows the gambling scene on each place.

this other website tell a slightly different story

Macau is Part of china right?this means China must be on top of everything because aside from their so large country  They have Macau that every games and bets counts towards their country .

So this means they are the highest loser and the biggest winners and revenues.

That is the main reason on How gambling business will be profitable because if they will only rely on Local gamblers then they will earn nothing but people will only suffer, casino owners will bag money but the poor players will lose everything.

Las Vegas is such an awesome city with so many different casinos. The hole city and county lives of the gambling revenues. Unfortunately many other countries don't have such a centralised gambling city. Except maybe Macau there are not really other places to compare. In southern oder Middle America gambling is also important but it doesn't happen so much in casinos. People tend to invest there money more in lotteries. Also scratch cards are very big in these countries.

If the country makes gambling legally, it can help the country to gain more income from the gambling industry. In that country, we will see many casinos available and ready to get more people to play gambling. The government can use taxes to that gambling casino while earning more income from the tourism section.

But the government needs to aware of the gambling activity for their citizen because that can attract them to visit the casino and play gambling for longer. The government needs to think about how they're going to solve addiction to gambling because maybe some people will get addicted to gambling.

AFAIK, the high turnovers are coming from the first world countries. China, the USA, some EU countries, and Australia have a higher gambling turnover according to the many casino statistics websites, unsurprisingly.

Should not surprising as it's no secret that in those countries, gambling is one of the biggest industry.

There's no such thing as recession, economic downfall, increase in poverty, and even a global pandemic that will destroy the activity of the gambling industry in these counties.

And EU, during the pandemic, is always on the news for having an increase of online gamblers despite the fact that they become an epicenter of Covid-19 outbreak before.

The business must go on and from physical to online integration is just a simple step to make and wont really be missing out the profits to be made since people will be sticking
out on playing online and now that doors are gradually opening in most parts of the world then expect these numbers will be might even more higher than it was before.

I agree that theres no doubt in first world countries who had been generating multi millions or even billions in revenue with gambling industry.
This is already anticipated.. Rankings might be on the off side but it doesnt matter because it is just the same to treat off tha
these places were the big players when it comes to this industry.

Looking at the losses per adult, I can't attain to think that I'll lose that amount. It may not look that much but it's quite high for me.

But those countries seems to have a lot of opportunities and you can make a good living from those. That's why an average adult per loss is quite high and is okay with it.

Well, you are right and I agree with that.

Yes, that is true, there are several illegal casinos around the world, mainly in underdeveloped countries (I think the proportion is even higher in underdeveloped countries compared to developed countries), and in fact it is more difficult to track money.

Checking the payment methods of most popular gambling platforms will give an idea of why the accepted currencies are chosen carefully for making things easy for regular customers from the same group of countries.

I am living in India. I am not live in your listed country. I don't think that Australia is first rank of 10 countries that gamble the most. I think Australia is last position in gamble of that gamble the most. I think the first position should to be go European countries like UK, America and London etc.
I understand that you also have your own opinion, but you have read the websites posted in the OP?

https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/countries-that-gamble-the-most.html
https://www.casino.org/features/gambling-statistics/

Try reading it first so you'll know the basis on why these countries are rank this way.

Very interesting topic @Lucasgabd, congratulations and thanks for sharing with us

I did not know this information, I imagined underdeveloped countries were in a higher position, I also do not understand why Brazil is not in this ranking, I thought that Brazilians liked to gambling, because it is forbidden?!??
I think on the first top position is true just not have slot for United  State we know they have las Vegas casino become bigger casino in the world after Singapore, I think just disagree why not have place for Las Vegas casino because they have bigger and many visitor comin g from the world. Only fee country basic not moslem country have legal casino and Moslem country still not ability casino in their country, so looking on your list maybe not Moslem global country have legal for casino.

This is basically based on the revenue of the gambling sites, underdeveloped countries  does not have a good economy, poverty is high so people has lesser chance to gamble, and to think that there's a lot of illegal casinos in underdeveloped countries, it's hard to track the money coming in.
