It's no surprise, seeing Singapore in second place. I don't live in Singapore, but very close to it (maybe it only takes 1 hour to fly there), even some of my acquaintances are willing to go to Singapore just to gamble, because in my country gambling is a prohibited activity. In other words, Singapore is a paradise for gamblers from my country and several other countries nearby.

There's not much noise in Singapore when it comes to gambling but they are making on the top list, it's great to go to Singapore to gamble because you are not only going there to gamble but you are can visit great and beautiful places that are Instagram worthy, it's like hitting two birds with one stone, a really great place to visit.

I think this data only reflects those gambling activities recorded within the casinos, and the amount of gaming losses.
I also agree to the point that it is irrelevant based on the year of data acquisition, but still nice to have some data.
I think that it would be hard to really identify the top country of gambling activities since there a lot to consider such as currency value, population, the regulated and the unregulated gambling activities.
Correct! These numbers wont really be final considering that there are still some places which wont really be included in the count and as mentioned about unregulated gambling places and other similar forms which wouldnt really be tallied out.So these numbers arent really that on spot but it is better rather than having nothing at all and at least we do have some idea on what places on the world are mostly involved with gambling. This would really vary on each country basing of if its a rich one or a developing country.Of course, people living and their status will be reflecting into their capability or capacity on dealing with gambling but there are still poor countries that might able to go with the ranks.

It is not final as we know that gambling industries still grow from time to time. The lists will change in the next year as the government will allow the casino to run their business because the government wants to make money again from the gambling business. Besides the casino, I think there will be traditional gambling games that people played someplace out of the casino, that the government knows where is those places. Even if in that country, gambling is prohibited, people can play gambling in a secret place.

yeah, Indonesia for example. Indonesia would not be on the list because gambling is illegal here.
Gambling has been in the culture of Indonesia. I believe many people here have grown up gambling with family or at least friends.
With the fact that Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest population in this world, it could be easily on the list if it is tracked properly.
although it's illegal in my country, we could still see online gambling ads on mainstream platforms like social media, youtube, or even promoted by many influencers.

we are so close to Singapore, but we are really2 mentally and wealthy different. they are on the top 2 lol.
since the data already presented, now you can promote your online casino properly to make huge profits Tongue

I'm sure people are surprise that China is in the list.

In general, gambling is illegal in china but not in Macau, and according the article I read, majority the revenue of Casinos in Macau are coming from tourist or safe to say non Chinese people.

This is to show us that many people are able to lose a lot of money for pleasing themselves by going to casinos or even in online gambling. It to know that gambling is already a part of our life, ancient people do this before and we are just following it.

All I know is that Macau, China lead in gambling before but was it giving up since it was not the number one today. In other countries and Cities are already accepting such a competition. And for now, we are seeing numerous changes in the gambling industry and we saw a huge volume of gamblers.

Australia has a very large annual gambling loss value when compared to other countries.  I never thought that gambling players in Australia were much more likely to lose than gamblers from the US or China.  gambling owners in Australia must have made a lot of profit from the gambling players who lost there..

That isn't fair for Australian people, because they've been manipulated by those gambling owners. Their expectations was to win from the deceiving promotions and yet it happened losing all their efforts. This shouldn't be happening on every people who constantly playing on their site or even physical gambling establishment, it should matter with profit sharing and everyone is entitled of it.

Countries in the list are rich countries, so you can expect that people will gamble because they are earning well, and it would not do harm on their finances. If in the list are the poorest countries, I guess we have to worry as people are already struggling and we know they can't afford to gamble and ye the government are still allowing them.

I was surprise that Japan is the second most countries that do like to gamble. Despite their reputation of being one of the country with rich culture and values where most people living in that place are good. Well they have the # 1 safest city in the world. Anyway, gambling is not consider as bad for its main purpose is to get excitemen and fun. I think these can applied to them because they were literally rich in good values which means that gambling addiction would be in lower number compared to the other countries. I was surprised why Philippines is not part where in fact we do have a lots of gambling form like spider betting, cock fight and more. We have a unique gambling platform. We even bet on racing turkeys or carabao in a race. LOL

I doubt the data from the worldatlas, I imagine the countries that like to gamble are America, Hong Kong and Macau.
Even America and Macau were not on the list, and I was quite surprised to learn that Australia is a country that likes gambling.
But the source from the casino.org website is more acceptable to me. Because America, China and Japan based on the results of
my investigation have quite high gambling activity.

Yeah it’s interesting to see these statistics about countries where gambling is like the a norm because is some nations gambling is viewed negatively as many gamblers are known to be extravagant in their spending and life in general. Yeah I always think of Australia as the hotspot for gambling and I’m impress to see other countries so maybe with these statistics the view about the negativity of gambling will be put to an end.

It’s will be logical enough to say that gambling is old as man on earth and it’s more of an ancient way of entertainment and not to be seen as negative action to the society.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Well, this article only shows the average losses of an adult player in the country and not the number of players. The top countries like Australia and Singapore mean that their citizens or players are more willing to spend and lose the higher amount in gambling compare to the other however on the second chart provides information on the average losses per country which means it refers to the average total amount as a whole and not per player. The two charts gave different information on whose on the top because the first chart refers to an individual while the second chart is in general that makes the US be the number one on the second chart for more citizens or people do gambling in the country.

I see one particular country there and I am not at all surprised;) I better not mention it in case Big Brother is watching but yes,,, when people are bored and have nothing to do, they turn to vices of which gambling could be considered one of them.

For me I have it under control as a hobby but I know for others,,, a problem.

More on the problematic side as gamblers failed to control themselves.

Once heavy engagements take place it's really hard to escape addictions, those countries who have gamble the most are places where
people ain't have the right control with their habitual activities, lots of money being thrown to this business casinos surely shown  up from different places they just open new one from time to time.

Two different data but both of them are from 2017 according to the article. So I guess both charts visualize different data. The one from worldatlas shows ranking based on how much money per adult loses. But was a little disappointed (in a good way i mean lol) to see that adults in the country on top seems to be losing around $1,300. I guess it is an average for each adult per year. Was expecting it to be something more bigger in number lol. The other chart seems to shows how many people regularly gambles in a casino. Not surprised to see US in the top.

Similar to the others I'm quite surprised seeing the first chart that the US was not included on the list but the second chart appears to be more reasonable because as I and most of the people here or even ordinary citizens would point their finger to the US if they will be asked to which country gambles the most.

However, the statement says that the average losses per adult that means it refers to the amount of a player they are spending but not the number of players that gamble in those countries. I guess the first chart only denotes that gamblers in Australia are spending too much compared to the players in Spain and it doesn't confirm that there are more gamblers in Australia than in Spain.

Most of the gamblers of our Bitcointalk community might've lived in Spain atleast for few days time. This means atleast every gambler could've experienced a loss of more than $400. Based on the calculation some could've travelled to Australia, Singapore and all sitting in front of the desktop. Lol Cheesy

I am also pretty interested to this information so I have an idea if what countries have the most gamblers. So Australia in the top rank base on worldatlas while USA in the top base on casino.org, if we say per adult this means per gambler if I am right and 1k plus usd loses is pretty high especially if this is monthly loses or less.

Though it is not stated there whether that amount is base on monthly loses but I am sure that Australia is aware of it and maybe they are also earning a good amount of taxes coming from casinos the same with US as they are not doing something to counter the gaming activity in their country.
