The biggest crime on crypto-currency is SCAM. But unfortunately most of scams are happening due to our stupid activity. Our greed is more responsible for it. We are always looking for cheap, bonus, free coin and so on. ICO's are making us fool. Scammers asking for private key for free token or airdrop coins, many stupid provide the private key. So we can say most of scam happening due to our stupidity and lazy behaviour

people will be hacked, exchanges will be hacked, thats normal at internet world, exchanges should be more secure and people should be more carefull about hacks, some times its hard but we should be carefull,

The biggest crime didn't happen yet. It will be once we let the central banks controlling the Bitcoin network. But if not, I think that it is MtGox that holds the record in the media. In term of funds for sure, all these shit ICOs are the biggest. Still, it's minimal compared to other currencies and like the currencies, Bitcoin can't be blamed but the platform people use and so these people themselves.

Actually in myetherwallet scam, I am one of the stupid bitcoiner that being scam. They sent an email as the same as the email of campaign manager at bounty asking for my info like KYC and asking my private keys.I thought it was legit because campaign manager was always sent an email update to me. So next day I found out that my coin was stole. So I can say that scam is the biggest crime here in cryptocurrency.
That was too gullible of you how can you get an email requesting for your wallet keys and you responded to it, no bounty campaign manager will ever ask you for your private keys unless he have the intention of scamming you. No one have to right to ask for your wallet private keys apart from you.

the biggest loss in cryptocurrency is when a few years ago mt gox was hacked which resulted in a loss of 850k btc or around 450m usd
I think to avoid losses it's better to keep it in the hard wallet ... because an online wallet or exchanger doesn't always guarantee security

Yeah, I heard that too, but I don't have that experience because that happens when I don't know cryptocurrency. But the crime in the cryptocurrency still happen until now, and maybe it's not got exposed, so we don't know yet. I am sure that for every people will prevent to be the next target of the crime and we need always to be careful.
That's cloud mining and doublers! 2 years ago (might be 3 years) when i was a newbie, i got scammed by hashocean. They gave very high profit and disappear. Newbie are very easy to be scammed by these scammers.

The biggest crime in Crypto currencies are the fact that private centralized institutions hijacked the whole experiment and then caused all these problems. Satoshi did not want people to do P2P transactions via 3rd part centralized services, he wanted people to trade 1 on 1.
These centralized services used exploitable code and hackers and thieves quickly realized this and they targeted these vulnerabilities. So Bitcoin was not responsible for these hacks, but rather 3rd party services with weak software.

Of course! - It's pretty obvious that exchanges are the problem, not Bitcoin or the Blockchain technology.
However, i think that we need to understand that in order to attract the masses someday 3rd party centralized services are a must for that to really happen. There's a lot of people who can't really care less about learning new things. For that reason, even banks are probably needed in some degree.

Interms of money that was lost I think its also MTGox but the biggest heist and a suspect pinned down I think it must be the crime of the people behind the Bitconnect project (BCC). BCC was one of the top project on CMC that made people think its really legit so they jump onto it.

If I can remember at that time someone found a backdoor the reason it is hacked. I don't remember what they have done but I think they doubled the number of supplies of Bitcoin in circulation. It was fixed and everything gets back to normal, for me that is the biggest crime of cryptocurrency. I guess the second was when Mt. Gox was hacked.
