I'd say it will depend on the gambler. There goes the gamblers that would really need a long time before he's able to take a whole healing process.

But for some, it won't take that much because of the burning desire to quit gambling and can't take it anymore as they experience the negative effects of it.

It is why that desire should include that encouragement of having that mindset of quitting addiction.
This bitter experience for me will make the basic point of the mindset, as the way to control already having this experience will not be repeated. yes, the urge is still in our brains to come back again. but I don't want to lose a valuable thing ruining the reputation of the other side's life. all need to plant seeds so that good or less perfect results can be seen, must be corrected again so that they continue to grow well
Having the bitter experience will teach you more. Because you don't want to happen that again and the lesson will be sticked to your mind and you don't want that to happen again anymore.

It can be a short thing to you and you'll realize wholly and quickly because you know that it's the best thing to do. You'll have to correct yourself and if there's still the desire to gamble, you will finally be able to control that again so it won't be experienced again.

One thing I believe is that, those who get addicted to playing gambling is as a result of the fact that they desperate to make quick money. And if care is not taking you end up loosing more than what you are expecting to make from playing gambling. My advice for people who are about to or into playing gambling already is that they should not see gambling as a major source of income and don't go into gambling because of someone testimony. Learn skills that will earn you money and above all be contented with what you have at all time.

Well I don't think that's true. if someone wants to make money of course he has to work and in return he will get income.
and if someone gambles for instant income, I'm sure he will experience disappointment.

the thing to remember for everyone who wants to play gambling, that online or land casinos never offer wealth or give sure wins in every game session.
Now, armed with this knowledge, I think someone should change their mindset to make gambling a part of fun entertainment and if they are lucky, they will get a very large prize money.

I knew people who were able to get rid of hard drugs and I knew gambling addicts who lost huge sums of money in casinos but were able to give it up completely. So I think anyone who says they can't give up gambling and other addictions on their own is just cheating themselves and those around them. He either doesn't want to and doesn't have the core.

Addiction isn’t really an easy feat to overcome. And that’s is probably why it’s called an addiction. Whether it’s drug addiction or gambling addiction, it really isn’t easy to overcome it. An individual has to be disciplined strictly in order to overcome. In some cases, the addict needs to get some help in order to overcome the addiction and that where rehab comes in. We all need each other to thrive and survive. An addict especially needs all the patience, understanding and constant monitoring to overcome an addiction cause it really isn’t an easy feat

I don't know what percentage, do you know? In my opinion, this percentage is rather higher when compared with the middle class. As you know, the children of rich parents very often become "golden youth" who suffer from idleness by using drugs, gambling, etc. In any case, whatever this percentage, such people, by the very fact of their existence, refute the stereotype that they come to gambling only because of disappointment with their financial situation and the desire to make money. Everyone has their own reasons.
As I have previously explained to you, each person has his reasons for falling prey to addiction, regardless of the general principle that confirms that there are certain personalities who can fall into the trap of addiction of all kinds, and not all personalities can become addicted to something as a result of circumstances, whether private or objective. . But when we are in the process of setting a general rule for defining a gambling addict, all evaluations will go to the search for easy and quick profit, which is the characteristic of the poor in the majority.

I understand your point, but your theory is contrary to the facts because there are facts (rich people who gamble and become addicted) that are contrary to your "general rule". If you really want to talk about some serious theory, then you probably need to give more numbers and statistics and not just "I think so" or use such vague formulations as "majority", because even this formulation can change its meaning if we take not natural numbers, but percentages.
Well I got your point.
Now try to think about it in reverse. When we want to see how we can stop gambling. In my opinion, finding other sources of income will be the only solution for the rich and the poor alike.
In another way, we have to define the concept of poverty also if people from all social classes fall prey to addiction and both seek easy and quick profit without the need to obtain a diploma in 4 years and establish a business.

online gambling addicts can still stop if you have strong intentions, avoid everything that smells of gambling, busy yourself with family so don't diagnose yourself as an addict and can't stop gambling but be excited to stay away so you don't stress
I'm not an addict, but it seems that intention alone is not enough. Looks like someone else has to help to stop. Looks like there should be a psychologist who accompanies. Maybe it's like drug addicts. They will have a hard time stopping on their own. They need rehab. Maybe this applies to people who are addicted to online gambling.
not 100% of people who are addicted to gambling need the services of a psychologist to help them stop their addiction, there are also many successful addicts who quit because of the encouragement of loved ones, so I really agree with the support option from loved ones to encourage addicts to quit gambling if the gambling addict doesn't have the cost to go to a psychologist.

You have to know the guy or see him play to do that. An addict will act completely different from your casual player. At first he will look like a pro, but then, after a while, you'll see the difference in behavior. I've seen some of them in pubs, coming to play the machines. We were coming in for a beer or two and leaving after an hour or so, but these guys were still there, hunched over the machines, silently pushing the buttons like they were in a trance. They weren't eating anything, rarely drinking. Every penny was worth another game so it couldn't be wasted on food or drinks Wink

I agree with you on this. Every penny is worth another game and definitely can’t be wasted on either food nor drink. And most addicts literally use their last cent to satisfy their cravings. Also, an addict can not entirely hide his love and cravings for his addiction and if observed carefully, one can identify traits and symptoms of an addiction. Although addiction is bad and would need strict discipline to help overcome its clutch, I wouldn’t put all the blame on the shoulders of the addict and that’s why addicts get help because the addiction can be overwhelming for the addict to handle alone.

I don't think that anyone can actually spot a gambling addict. Unlike a meth addict, for example, you will not see a gambling addict with teeth and hair falling out. So physically, there is no way to tell by looking. Addiction is a dopamine regulation problem. If the dopamine in someones brain is not being produced as it should be, or if the receptors are not taking in the dopamine as they should, then thats how an addiction comes to be.

The best way to know if someone is addicted is by observing their behavior and their daily habits. Listening to the person, helps too.

Online gambling addictions such as online slots, online lottery, etc. can ultimately destroy the lives of the players, both financially, physically, emotionally, and socially. The back and forth wins experienced by online slot gambling players, online lottery, etc., is what ultimately makes these players fall into addiction. The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in the United States estimates that bankruptcy, theft, domestic violence and neglect of children, foreclosure of homes and other investments, and even suicide are also linked to gambling addictions such as online slots.

The following are the characteristics of someone who is addicted to online gambling...
There is always a desire to gamble with increasing amounts of money, to achieve what you want.

Restlessness or irritability when trying to reduce or stop gambling.

After losing gambling money, often comes back another day to get revenge ("chase" someone's loss).

Forcing into debt and even committing crimes just to have playing capital, and relying on others to provide money to alleviate the desperate financial situation caused by gambling.

Often gambles when feeling depressed (eg stressed, helpless, guilty, anxious, depressed).
Are we one of the online gambling addicts...?
 Huh Huh Huh

Gambling addiction is what makes gambling to appear as an irresponsible man's activity, I knew of a case where a chronic gambler had to serially sell all his household properties down to his personal wears just to be able to keep up with the gambling life with the hope that eventually he will hit a major winning streak that will change his life much better than it where, but till as at when I was brief about the case his life is moving continuously from frypan to fire.

This utopian believe by addicted gamblers is what sustain their addiction and create a mirage to their life expected hope to no avail but ruin after ruin. It's really takes a lot of discipline and self determination to escape from the cage of addiction.

yes, that's right, because if we are busy with work or family, of course we rarely play cellphones, because online gambling is often played when we are alone and when we are relaxed.

Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoin
It not difficult to know if someone is addicted to gambling. There are some characters that an addicted gambler will portray and you will definitely know that he is an addicted gambler. One character in them is that they don't leave the gambling hall.Anyone who is addicted to gambler will not leave where they gamble, they are always there. They use every little money they have to gamble hoping that one day it will favour them. The moment you this see people like this, then have in mind that the person is an addict.

Have you ever observed a silent form of underage gambling addict? I'm referring to the introvert who normally completes all tasks at home before leaving discreetly to visit friends and then going to a sportsbook to place bets on different games, this is even an example of physical betting outlets. Some of them used credit cards to make deposits without their parent's consent and play online and now that some Bitcoin casinos don't require fiat and anyone can withdraw their money anonymously without completing any KYC. These kinds of people are very difficult to notice with some characteristics especially if they are the smart ones and also fear their parents because they will always hide things from their parents.

That's a valid point. When comparing the addiction of gambling with drugs the latter has more weight due to the physical side effects of drugs on the body.
If our health is good we can still make money but if our health is not supporting us then it is very difficult to make money.
As they say, health is wealth. But ofcourse both the addictions are bad since they can both lead to death.

At some point we can't compare this two because they are in different scenario but there's almost the same thing about it as well. People change their life when they are addicted to something, it can also cause other people to lose their love ones because of their behavior. It will also reflect to your physical appearance, those who fall into addiction give less attention to their body and hygiene.
I believe one should indulge oneself in good and healthy activities to keep them away from unnecessary trouble. With the advancement of technology we are more vulnerable to the frauds and problems. I think one should limit their screen time and keep oneself away from the computer for a health mind and body.

Sounds easy but it is really possible for someone to simply stay away from their addiction on their own? If they try to stay away for a while the urge will increase so at some point they will go back again with more intensity before which applies to all kind of addiction so the better way to stop it by reducing the time spent on it and gradually decrease it can be a possible thing.

I didn't know if you mentioned drug or drug dealing among these characteristics here and I think drug itself is a major causative factor that people gamble and or drug is the after effect of the reason gamblers commit these listed crimes. Such crimes under list are not commited without intoxication of substances. Drug dealing is a characteristic known with gamblers as they invest in purchase of drug when they have a winning.

Nothing lasts forever
Gambling is particularly dangerous because you can get financial ruin extremely fast, compared to other addictions.
I don't think gambling addiction is the most dangerous compared to other addictions, as you said gambling addiction will make ruin your financial, that's all. Actually drugs addiction is way more dangerous than gambling addiction since it will ruin your financial and your health condition. If you lost all your money but you still have a good health and body, you can get a job. But when you don't have any money and you're sick due to drugs, it's almost difficult to get a job to make you survive.

To a certain extend yeah, but you have to remember that sometimes gamblers who are addicted can do things beyond our comprehension, the worst is stealing money which is worst because you can go to jail for doing that. So there is no lesser evil here, both have a negative impact not just to the individual but the person around him/here. Love ones that can ruin their lives.
When someone is addicted in gambling they sometimes treated as abnormal. I know a lot about gamblers where they commit various crimes while managing gambling money. I have heard that they don't even dare to commit murder. There are many such addicted gamblers in the world who even kill for money. Generally those who don't have financial support they do such type of crime but if someone is from a rich family, it is different. Addicted gamblers are ‍always socially scorned.
