One Chili user on the BFL forum reported some great results using a Hyper212 Evo using some high grade thermal paste.

when will the firmware be out.
im running the newest 3.4.0 bfgminer and it seems to have a problem with temp it just sticks at 7Xc , would like to over clock to 80c atleast
even if i set the cut off and temp ranges in the bfgminer.conf it does not take them still 68c, 69c, 70c , 71c , 72c never pass 73c running now 5 hours or so
showing me only 22GH , also how can i see how many engines are running i would like to see if all 8 chips are running on the board
If you still have the FTDI driver, you can open up the comm port in  Hyperterm or Putty and type in ZCX, it will report the number of engines.

Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do.
what exactly is the block
i mean what you earn when you find a block?
more btc?

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/blockinfo.php/0000000000000009d5bbe52d8f0a80f0413c24c91d27a95499b474f6c7ff0404

The block is 25 BTC + Tx Fees.

You receive that if you are solo mining but if you are on a pool, it just goes in the pool and gets dispersed evenly from everyone that helped find it.

Less variation that way.

Now that a few people have hashing Chilis can someone provide feedback to allow people to get ready for batch 2 shipments.

-How big of an area of thermal mat/pad does each Chili Need (i.e. 2"x2")
-What cooler is best value (cooling per dollar spent).
-Were there any surprise parts that were needed to get the Chili hashing?

thanks in advance

Bitcoin miner... space heater... mood lighting...
Yes, I know fans should be turned 90 degrees. Didn't seem to make much difference. Running around 203GH/s w 6 boards and temps ranging between 52 and 69.

Anyone interested in a drop-dead simple open-air case for Chili boards?

This basic design could be expanded to accommodate more boards (in either/or width and depth) and could be stacked.

Cost, if fully assembled and shipped to California?

The case is $29 plus shipping (from NH).  The final shipping weight is still tbd.

Interesting, but I don't like the exhaust of one heatsink feeding into the next heatsink. I would expect better performance if you rotate those heatsinks 90 degrees and point one of  these bad boys at the rig to provide adequate the air circulation, lol.

Fixed.   Roll Eyes

i have to say thanks to Mr Teal and ChipGeek again Smiley
I wish i was able to get 2 of these and ditch my BFL 30GH so it would fit nicer in my pc case at work but oh well

I went the cheap option and got a slim heatsink + fan + thermal pad
This was the only option really for me as the BFL 30GH takes up so much room in the pc case that im using that i had to go for the slim profile look. the case runs cold anyway so i do not think that heat will be a problem. If anything does arise from it i will just have to add a extra fan in to the case. I plan on fixing the case and make it a little bit better so the air flow goes threw it with out a problem. I'm thinking of taking the DVD ROM out of the case aswell and adding a fan in that area of the case so more flow goes around.

From Mine Peon. It shows a high hardware error rate, but on BTC Guild shows 35GHs at first then slowly goes down to about 29.93GHs after 24 hours. Not sure if its a bug in Mine Peon 0.2.3a or what.

For the setup I have the Coolermaster 212 Evo with the .5mm thermal pad. Using the LGA standoffs with no back plate. Card is laying on the side so the fan is blowing one end and a usb fan is blowing on the back sides of the chips. On the bottom they are hot to the touch but not scalding. About 5-6 seconds before its uncomfortable.
What version of cgminer does MinePeon use, and what's your share difficulty? Old versions of cgminer counted one accepted share regardless of difficulty, while newer ones count shares as diff1 shares. That can make a huge difference in error rates.

CGminer 3.3.4

BTCGuild is on worker diff 32

sorry for the chopped up tables

yes the backplate on the back side. on the coolermaster 212 evo it will fit using the lga standoffs without the backplate. just remove the little metal peg where the heatsink meets the front plate.

was just wondering if it could cause warpage or damage

What causes high error rates? 30-40% on minepeon
I've never seen one with 40% error rates. Can you try on a computer using cgminer? It sounds like I might have to finally pull my Pi out of the antistatic wrap to test with.

Also, can you post a picture of your Hyper 212 setup? I'd like to see that.

I got a chuckle out of the last picture on that page. In my experience with house painting, the gender roles in that photo are usually reversed. Wink
