5 unanimous votes for the Rams this week, that's the most agreement we've had on a poll thus far.

It's funny that when thinking of the Rams/Browns the first thought I had was who is the home team!

To even imagine a few months ago that those two teams would even give a moments thought and not picking the Rams immediately is a tribute to their dedication this off season. Shit they have been the worst team for so many years I can't even remember who it was before them and the Rams were in the Superbowl!

Yes, they have been among the worst in recent years past, but I would also nominate Cleveland, Tampa Bay and Buffalo for those positions as well. Even though Buffalo did clinch a division title a few years back.

But yeah they will need a miracle to beat the Rams but I'm considering benching some of my Ram WR's this week!

Me too. I have Robert Woods and I'm leaving him on the bench this week.

I dont know what your team looks like but you probably took woods around round 4/5, I dont think Cleveland's secondary is enough for me to bench a rams wr.  I have Brooks in one league and kupp in another I am starting both of them without thinking twice.  I would advise you to do the same with woods unless you are wr heavy

I have to play Kupp or Woods and I think it will have to be Kupp but it hurts soo much. Cheesy

That one-handed catch by OBJ last night.. the physical skill and presence of mind to make sure he go both feet down AND didn't cannon into someone on the sidelines... just amazing
Not only that, he made that great catch and had an incredible performance against a New York team (not the Giants unfortunately) on Monday Night, it was as if he was saying look at what you are going to miss and what I am going to do to you the rest of my career.

That being said I do not understand why they traded him, even if he has a difficult personality he has the potential to be a HOF and they traded him on his prime.

By the way I selected the Rams to win over the Browns since I consider them to be a better team and I hope they give me my first correct prediction since I do not want to become the Miami Dolphins of this thread. Tongue

I think they traded him because the giants wanted to give barkley the keys to the team.  If you think Odell is going to play second fiddle to anyone he isnt.  And barkley is by far more valuable than Odell is/was.  They will need to use that money odell got on the defensive side of the ball.  I also dont think that odell fit shurmurs offense, who knows maybe it was just his antics they got fed up with.

Indeed it was a nice catch, here's him catching footballs at practice without gloves (i will probably catch one too...but with my head): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqBuPIvOKhU Shocked

had an incredible performance against a New York team (not the Giants unfortunately)

No Darnold and with Siemian nasty injury in the second quarter the Jets didn't stand chance, oh by the way that defense without C.J. Mosley is absolute crap. So yeah, I would not go that far and praise him too much on what he did. Let's see if he can have a similar performance against one of the top teams this weekend (for the record i also picked the Rams).

Yeah it's amazing how easy he makes them look, I dare you to go outside and just play catch with someone and try one hand catching the ball, good luck  Cheesy and he does it in the nfl while being blanketed on the sidelines, crazy

I voted for the Eagles to win over the Falcons and now I am 0-2 and it seems many of us are on the same boat.

My vacation kinda interfered with the start of the season and i was able to only watch Packers v Bears opening night game and Brown's win yesterday. So a lot of catch-up to do for me.

Nonetheless, I'm one of the two people who picked the Falcons to win this past week (lucky late drive...still counts though), I also have correctly voted the Packers in week 1. Might as well place some bets this week while i'm still hot. Grin

Chub runs for one, Landry gets one and Mayfields runs one in.  30-13 browns win it.

Pretty close here, not bad! Browns are looking to have their best season in quite a long while this year.

Which is why I've updated the poll with their game for Sunday against the Rams. Gonna go out of my way to watch this one... Still haven't found a damn sports bar here that both

- opens early enough
- plays NFL games

I'd think there'd be enough Americans here to make that happen... Just gotta do a bit more exploring.

The most fun this week was watching Lamar Jackson continue to blossomunder coach who believes in him (compared to last season). If he keeps that sharp passing going and offensive line gives him enough time, he will pull apart better defenses than the Cardinals. Just gotta not get hit too often, but he's smart with his running.

OK, I found a game for the new poll, its the Battle of the Birds:

09/15 8:20 PM

[287] PHILADELPHIA (-1.5)
[288] ATLANTA (+1.5)

Going forward I'm going to pick games for the poll based on:

- how close they are to being even
- how interesting they are on a general level
- how interesting they are to me

Polls are based on ML (win or lose) only, not spreads.

I have Carson Wentz as my fantasy QB, so I'm going with Philadelphia on that basis. Which I do realize isn't a basis at all, but nonetheless (for some reason spellcheck says its "nonetheless" but I've always pronounced it "non-the-less"... oh well). Hope to be able to watch this one in real-time.

It used to be you could go with 4 or 5 or 6 friends, have some wings / nachos / bar food and hang out for a few hours for $30 to $40 AT MOST PER PERSON

Now at least in the middle of the road places you are looking at $50+ (tax / tip included)

6 people kicking in $35 each can go to someones house have better beer / get some decent (not great) food delivered / chips / etc. and watch on your own 50+ inch screen.
Want to rewind, click the button. Want to watch a different game for a few minutes fine.

Damn, that's nuts. One of the things that attracted me to the Philippines was the extremely cheap cost of living. $20 (1000 pesos) is like a nice dinner for two with drinks. The most I've ever spent on a meal is about $30, and that's including a generous tip, which is never necessary, but I suspect always appreciated.

Of course there is a 12 hour time zone difference between here and the east coast, so the latest games start around 10:30 AM. The Eagles / Falcons game therefore starts at 8:20 AM -- not exactly drinking hours. But you can get a nice breakfast with fresh brewed coffee (something of a rarity here) for about $4-$5, or less if you find the right spots.

If you go to an American-owned place (all of them are now that I think about it), they usually hire some pretty attractive waitresses, so its nice to have some eye candy during the commercials. Of course you also run the risk of being surrounded by degenerates who are already on their 3rd martini by the time the game starts, and they keep trying to talk to your girlfriend while you get wafts of halitosis and gin because you are sitting between them and her.

Atlanta looked pretty bad in their opener but either did the eagles against a lowly Redskins team.  If I had to go out and pick this one it would be getting a little extra juice on the atlanta ML to win.  They cant start 0-2 and a win here is needed.  Not that, that determines the game I expect a sharper atlanta team in this one.  Julio goes for 2 touchdowns and Hooper with another atlanta 27-20

Pretty dam close with that one.  What an ending to that game!  Julio had 2 and it was Ridley not Hooper but man not bad  Cheesy.  Let me give tonight a shot.  Chub runs for one, Landry gets one and Mayfields runs one in.  30-13 browns win it.

My fantasy team got slaughtered this week. Hope to come back from this devastating loss next week.

Wentz didn't put up great numbers for me today. However, with 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, it would appear that the Eagles are going to win this one.

Edit: Eagles lose after last-minute drive by the Falcons! DOH.

Rams stomped all over the Saints, that was nice.

Cowboys beat the Redskins and covered -- that was all but predictable. I remember reading somewhere that the most "public money" was betting on Dallas this week, and it all won.

49ers huge win over the Bengals.

Patriots 43, Dolphins 0. Haha.

Probably the most shocking news is that Big Ben is out for the rest of the season and Drew Brees will be out for 6 to 8 weeks, this probably means that the season is over for the Steelers and if Bridgewater does not do a good job for the Saints then their season will be over as well.

It is interesting that we are only two weeks into the regular season and there are only a handful of teams that have any real super bowl aspirations, on the AFC the Patriots and Chiefs seem to be headed to another AFC championship and on the NFC the Rams, Cowboys and the Seahawks seem like the strongest candidates.

I won one and will probably lose the other unless Bell gets hit by lightning! most of my players were Rams/NO and Chiefs but I had all the ones that didn't perform up to spec. I really expected more out of the NO/Rams game but Brees going down and penalties really put a damper on that one. Watching Woods getting called back continuously due to penalties had me yelling at the screen! Cheesy

I also wish I had played Prescott over Brady, I could have used those extra points and I expected more out of S. Watkins  but Kelce was on point and Seeing Kupp get back to old form was pretty cool as well.

And where was D. Jackson and Alshon Jefferys???

Oh yeah Edleman didn't get targets and that hurt alot, Brady was force feeding Brown.
That sucks that they are feeding that Prima Dona.

Added: that Ryan/Jones play on 3rd and 4(IIRC) was a real surprise to shut that game down!

TE waller from Oakland.  With basically just him and William's to throw to without brown on the team now. Think he will get 10-12 targets.  Got him playing over Vance McDonald at the tight end position on my team.  I think he is going to be this years little.  We'll see but grabbing him later than the 10th round this year might have been my best pick

Great call! Also I grabbed T.J. Hockenson off the wire on a team I drafted Kelce and Kettle 2nd/3rd back to back just because if he explodes I have more equity in trading positions with him off the table. Smiley
I dropped Hyde who I figured I'd take a chance on (drafted cheap instead of a kicker) and even though he did well I don't see him producing more than 8-14 a week and thats not going to win any championships. Funny thing is I was forcasted to crush without a kicker so I was hopeing to not have to grab one until after I was able to vet everyone first week but Goff/Lockett/Duke Johnson cost me so much I was down 13 points sunday and had to grab a kicker (well it was a gamble that a kicker could save me but he did put up 10) and still lost by a few points.

That team was the first time I ever drafted first and I really didn't know where to go when everyone was gone (all reasonable RB's and best WR's) for my second pick at the 20th spot! Should be interesting to see how that team pans out.

I just dont have any room this early in the season for a stash unless I give up on another stash.  Question now that aj green is out of a boot would you keep him or get a stash guy that has value now.  I have green and just like his season value vs a guy like mclaurin

Green has been on my stay away from list for a few years.

As a matter of fact all Bengals are on that list.  Smiley
I did grab Boyd last year off the wire but I think he was rated too high this year.

Yeah I wasnt a fan of picking him up but he dropped so far in my draft, he was being drafted with teams 3rd and 4th options so it was kind of a flyer, I have cupp, Golladay, and godson ahead of him as well as marvin jones on my bench so if one of them go down or are subpar and aj gets his injury taken care of I have a nice replacement waiting on the bench.  Overall I dont like bangles skill players either including Mixon, but this year it kind of fell that way

I went heavy rb first this year

I have Kupp along with Woods and Goff and was pretty disappointing last week (played Woods+Goff).
So i doubled down and grabbed Malcolm Brown. Smiley
I expect NO VS LAR to be a high scoring game, if its not then I think I'm screwed for the year. Smiley

I'm pretty lucky i drafted Sammy Watkins (I just missed hill) and I expect he will have another big day this Sunday.
My big Duds who I expected more out of were Duke Johnson and Tyler Lockett I have a feeling i may be trying to trade them.

Who do you guys think will Excel this week?
