Its going to be a close end to the Broncos/Jaguars game, I'm really hoping that the Jags can hold on for the win as they have played well to fight their way back into the game in the third quarter and now I just need them to hold on for the win to collect my parlay.

Damn what an insane ending to the game, congrats!
I thought it was over for you after that Denver/Flacco final drive 5/5 despite the 10yard penalty.
Your parlay with 27 odds total is the early nominee for bet of the year we share here. I honestly don't think anyone will match it soon. Impressive!

So many away team wins today/week4 games - 11 total with Cowboys having a chance to make it 12. Maybe i should go with Bengals tomorrow?  Roll Eyes
Lol @Rams getting spanked at home (Goff 3 INT), at least i'm still perfect for the weekly poll. Bears 16:6 MIN with Trubisky out early in the 1st.

I just need the Jaguars to win but its not looking good at the moment as they are down 14 - 3 half way through the second quarter. I was going to take them to cover the spread like I did with the other underdogs however I wanted to add some value so I took the risk on the money line. Lets see what happens and good luck to the ones betting on tonight's game.

My picks for today are so off it's not even funny, i was actually warned about the Falcons but i didn't listen.

Bill lost but had a chance even without Allen, Barkley fucked up the last drive with an interception. Of course, my -6.5 didn't hit.

vella85 is 5 for 6 so far, rooting for Jaguars to win!!!

I also have Saints upsetting the Cowboys, i'm not sure upset is the right word here, but oddsmakers have given Dallas a slight advantage.
And last but not least, Bills ain't starting the season 4-0. Cheesy Patriots are going to take care of business here.
I also have Patriots on my parlay (I combined it with the Chiefs) only went with the match winner I didn't take the handicap because heavily favored teams could suddenly struggle.

I haven't placed bets for the next set of matches but I like the Vikings and the Saints. I think there's some kind of recency bias on the Cowboys that's why the odds are so favored on their side even though it's a road game for them the Saints are still a playoff team.

Edit : Those two games are so crazy close almost count my parlay out after the Lions scored a td with few minutes left.

Good luck with your parlay,

My main focus is on the Rams and Goff who is playing way much better at home. I do expect an easy double-digit win.

Several outlets are reporting that NFL owners are a proposing 17-game slate.

If they do eliminate the preseason games I think fans are going to riot.
I know I like the preseason.

-Dave
I am against a season of 17 games, despite the changes on the rules to try to protect players, especially the quarterbacks, during the season we have seen an important number of them to be injured and it is only week four, besides the preseason is useful to see many of the rookie players and how they perform against an higher level of competition, and finally adding another game to the season seems like an attempt to help players break records that seem unbreakable right now and I do not like that kind of stats inflation.

There will also be stats that are tougher to break like undefeated seasons. I think the reason for increasing the season is for all teams to play outside the country so that it is a business decision on expanding the game rather than having any focus on stats. Also each team would play one game outside the country so that should in theory effect them all similarly as far as the jet lag effect goes.

What they should be doing IMO is expanding the team size if they are going to extend the season as they will need more depth. But who is to say whether removing pre season and expanding the regular season will result in more or less injuries. i would postulate there will be more injuries in high value players but less injuries overall.

This Sunday I'm going for some value in my parlay as last week I did good.

My picks Browns +7.5, Panthers +4.5, Raiders +6.5, Chargers money line, Giants money line and Jaguars money line.

Odds $27.21

Bet $10 for a return of $272.14

As I said I'm going for some value this week so lets see what happens.

Had a pretty tough time picking a team but I ended up voting Bears for the weekly poll, i have the Bears also cover the spread (-2).  I just can't see them lose a second home NFC North game. Trubisky had a decent performance v Redskins with three touchdowns so he should be alright + Bears will be rocking throwback uniforms on Sunday.  Tongue

Damn, where does he get his info! Grin

Whoops, almost! Well as the Twitter comments said, hopefully he hedged it, if it wasn't fake. One thing about putting down an $0.89 bet it means you probably don't have much capital to do a whole lot of hedging.

New poll up:

09/29 4:25 PM

[271] MINNESOTA
[272] CHICAGO

Conventional wisdom proved correct last time (1 for 3), will it strike again?

I like Minnesota in this game.  It all hinges on dalvin cook and if he can get going against the bears defense, if not they will have a tough time in the air.  One thing that puzzles me is digg's, dude is a monster and just hasn't put up the numbers yet.  I expect a big game soon from him too

Just the hard core fans. Pre-season is not really indicative of the fielded team so basically all it really does is get players injured before the season starts. What they should do is work out something with colleges to field drafted players v/s established collegiate teams in a new bowl style playoff series.

You could cash it out if you're that nervous

Yeah, I totally forgot about this though with 9 minutes left and the score being 7-0, option was greyed out/unavailable.

As expected my bet didn't hit, i was one yard short of a touch back and a couple stupid/unnecessary flags thrown in the final 2 minutes, otherwise Redskins should've kicked a 30yard field goal or something. Maybe next time.  Wink

Did you guys see that $0.89 bet? Hope he hedged it...

I lost my bet on the skins covering the spread but I got the over on the total points thanks to the Bears having a big second quarter. I don't think I'll be touching the skins again this season as they have let me down two times already.

Thursday night's game is going to be a ripper, I'm leaning towards the packers but that could change in the coming days lol. What do you guys think?

Here's more nauseating stuff. It's about the Patriots and AB in particular. I'm sure yall saw that on social media already, but if you haven't, AB is being released by the team following the sexual assault allegations. What's next for AB, do you think he's done with NFL? He threatened to retire last month lol...i guess you should be careful what you wish for.
More on the story: Bleacher Report.
I think that at least he is done for the season since no team is going to try to hire him with the huge amount of baggage that he is carrying with him, it is not only the allegations against him but all the noise he is generating in social media, the distraction he will bring to the team, the possibility of being put in the exempt list and his lack of professionalism are huge read flags that teams cannot ignore.

Now while he claims that he is done with the NFL it is not like he can do something else that will pay him that kind of money so I will not be surprised if he changed his mind.

^ I can tell you what not to play haha, think i screwed big time going with +7.5 total points in the first quarter. It's just not gonna happen, both teams don't have explosive offenses (does Keenums' 5 TD count as explosive)? Trubisky doesn't even have a TD thrown yet.  Lips sealed

Why did i take that bet? omg...something really extraordinaire has to happen to even have a chance.
You could cash it out if you're that nervous but I think your bet still have a good chance to win despite the bad results of the two. It's possible, with 3 field goals or a touchdown from the Redskins then field goal on the next.

My bet for this match is the Redskins moneyline for 2.98 the spread was too low for me to take I predict the match will end with a 6-7 point difference.
