I'm really liking the Giants to cover the spread against the Patriots on Thursday night so I have taking that and I have also put on a small parlay for Sundays games.

My early parlay

Giants +16.5, Buccaneers +2.0, Bengals +11.5, Eagles +3.0, Browns +1.5

Odds $24.31

Outlay $10

Return $243.19

I'm also liking the over for Thursday nights game but haven't placed my bet yet.

As you can see I like to go with some value when taking parlays as they can pay off big for a small outlay so I'm willing to take the risk.

The only thing with the giants is that both barkley and gallman are out.  Sheppard is out and I think engram is out.  That is pretty much the entire offense.  The only hope is that danny dimes enjoys his first game on prime time and goes nuts.  I hope so, giants sucked for a bunch of years now and want to see them finally be decent again.  The over is probably a good bet.  What is it right now?

I know mate, it doesn't look good for the Giants with all these players out but I got a feeling that they cover the spread. The over has been jumping around a bit, I saw it at 42 and now its currently at 43. The Giants are back into +16.5 and the Bengals have come into +10.5 so the markets are jumping around a bit.

Dam that was looking decent but a defensive touchdown and a punt block for a touchdown was the downfall.  The giants hung in there but some critical turnovers changed the game.  I hope you at least got the over in.  Barkley and sheperd should be coming back next week so hopefully giants can hang in there

Tell me about it mate, It was looking good until the turnovers and even at the end there I thought the Giants had a chance to cover the spread but the pass interference wasn't called. I was luck to get the over which looked almost certain for the game and it did make up for the parlay loss.

I'm going to take another parlay for the other teams I had in my first parlay but to add some more value, I'm going with the Bucs to win the game instead of covering the spread.

I wish i could revise my pick for the weekly poll. Grin
My only hope now is that Alvin Kamara might not play or at least get limited playing time due to an ankle injury he's nursing after week 5. He is listed as questionable for Sunday and did not practice on Friday. Teddy could help with a few interceptions...i wouldn't mind that at all. haha

I hope not I have Kamara in one league and michael thomas in another.  I hope every week New O spikes a huge lead.  Teddy has been good so far I was worried when drew got hurt.  Kamara has been ok so far this year, I expected a little more out of him honestly

I feel bad about blowing the Pats call about not covering the spread... It certainly seemed like everything was good to go until that last quarter when everything went south in a hurry. Like you guys said, let's see how the line reacts to them playing a good team... which by the looks of it won't be until Week 9 (Ravens) or Week 11 (Eagles).

So far we have 5 votes for Saints and 2 for Jags... the biggest discrepancy we've had in a poll thus far. Line is now at -2.5 Jags, so that will be quite the V for our Collective Wisdom if the Saints can pull it off. I honestly can't say why the line favors the Jags.

That is surprising, minshew has looked good but bridgewater has really stepped up.

It's a pretty fucked up year when you dread playing a team that has NE's D.
Lol quite the aberration. Smiley

It felt more like Brady keeping them in the game early with his bad passes/plays than the Giants making any stops. He had a pretty subpar game despite the 2 rushing TD and the 300+ passing yards. I honestly can't wait to see them face a decent team, their schedule so far is beyond ridiculous and they play the Jets next week. Haha

Truer words were never spoken! That is the only reason I drafted Brady and I'm a NE fan! Wish I had grabbed their D like in past years but i wasn't going to allow myself to get screwed again (believing the hype again) by making that mistake. I feel soo smart now! Cheesy

I agree, the statistics of Brady are fine but when you see the game you can see there is something off, even if we consider there are many injures in the Patriots offence and that Brady himself is injured he has not looked like himself during the whole season, so despite his claims that he wants to play until he is 45 I really think this one or the next one will be his final season, however I really think their defence is the real deal since they are forcing turnovers all the time and that is critical to win football games.

He's no longer Mobile in the pocket and its apparent he has a healthy fear Of Big Ends getting their hands on him so he gets rid of the ball too soon alot now.

Edit: added jpgs and moved to bottom for readability

Shit. I got drunk and Rage Dropped Dak half way through the game last week! Cheesy

W00ps

I still have Brady.

Lol in your defense that was one pathetic first half.  That second half though was pretty amazing.  I'm not sold on dak being a top quarterback, makes too many questionable moves and just cant make all the throws.  I hope cowboys sign him to a 10 year contract and he ends up being mediocre for 10 years  Cheesy

I have also been steaming D's and had GBs D and they gave me neg numbers when I faced NEs D that put up 20+ points that cost me the week and they were beating up on Dak after I dropped them to the wire. I was just Lucky I went with the safe points and had Brady in. I think Prescott is going to give alot of people Heart attacks this year. Cheesy

I think that's a good bet... No reason for the Pats to try to run up the score, and I think the Giants will put up more of a fight than the Skins could. I predict the Pats win by 14. Right now the spread is 16.5 -- you should be safe.

I have Daniel Jones, the Giants' new QB as my backup, but there's zero chance I'm playing him this week. Gonna wait until Carson Wentz has a bye week.

New poll up:

[259] NEW ORLEANS
[260] JACKSONVILLE

I should of waited a little longer as the spreads have been pushed out .5 except for the Eagles spread however the odds for the Eagles spread has gone out to $1.95, anyway I still think that the teams have a good chance at covering the spreads. I think the Giants will surprise a lot of people in this game as the money is heavy on the Pats to cover the spread but at home the Pats are 1-1 ATS and the Giants are 1-1 away ATS so its not clear cut for over 80% of the money on the Pats to cover.

I have a feeling that my winning streak for the weekly poll is coming to an end this Sunday, regardless, i'm going with Minshew and the Jaguars at home against a team that is currently on a three-game winning streak and second in the power rankings behind the Patriots.

Why exactly are the Jags (-1) being favored in this game?

Anyone interested on the Browns-49ers match? both teams looks very unpredictable but I slightly like the 49ers because they beat the Steelers on their last match. Then again you have the Browns who are undefeated on the road and beat the Ravens at home which is one of the big favorites. I'm undecided between the two, for the total i'm going with the under. The defense of these teams looks to be enough to keep the match under 48.

Edit: Took the 49ers -4.5 before the lines closed.

I like the 49ers on that spread.  The browns are too unpredictable and the 9ers defense is legit.  If they can keep a solid pass game going they will be tough to beat and will probably make for the hardest division this year with the rams and the Seahawks.  I can see both wildcard teams coming out of that division and only the division winners out of the other 3.  I would take the under on the game as well.
The under was a solid pick since it was a lop sided game and the 49ers had a rookie place kicker who misplaced the ball a few times. The kicker was a rookie I think with all those missed field goals he has had in the season so far. Those all contributed to 49ers not getting more than 45 points which I thought they would of gotten by half time.
Luckily cleveland couldnt score even a touchdown or it would of been very close to the 48 point under which was good value for those who picked it on the game.
I think I saw a -25.5 line for san francisco when I was looking at the lines but didnt think of choosing it since cleveland was just so bad tonight.

-25.5 line that is too big for any game that does not have the miami dolphins playing in it.  For this week the giants are going to have a rough time with new england.  The giants are without barkley, now shepherd their #1 wr and possibly engram the next best receiver although he is their TE.  Tom brady should make quick work of their defense, in new england on a prime time game.  I actually hope the giants win but cant see anyway that they do
