Gamblers are well aware that their chances of walking away with more money than what they had when they came are slim, but they still believe they have what it takes to be the person that walks home rich. They are driven by stories of how other gamblers succeeded, but such stories are rare. They consciously decide to not pay attention to failures, even personal ones.

Gambling on sports is always better than playing casino games in my opinion. Sports is not just luck, you also need knowledge and maybe some insider information.

What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ?
In my opinion sports betting is much better give winning than games based on luck, but games based on luck are much more interesting to play and every time someone posts about their winnings it is very tempting to try even though the ending is very different.

I think he was referring only to sports betting and not to games of chance. As far as I understand, he is interested in which sports (games) we think are the best to bet on. For example, football, soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, horse racing etc.

How many times you usually win in a game of chance+skills?
Never counted but definitely not as often as on sports betting

Sports betting is a game of chance+skills. Skill alone will not bring you win if you do not have a shred of luck, no matter how good you think you are in predicting the outcome of the match.

One might already understand that winning at Gambling is hard but at the end of the day we still see a lot of people increasingly interested in Gambling, this might provide an insight into the casino business and at the same time help explore the ideas 💡 in the mind of a Gambler.

I see that people had come to gambling
*because they thought that gambling makes them rich in a faster way rather than working it hard
 * because they saw huge rewards if you win

A way that casinos have taken advantage of the demand and increased the number of gamblers. In fact, gambling is now one of the growing businesses online and offline.

Try to look at it from a different perspective. You're willing to pay for music, a movie, or a game, but you don't think it makes sense to pay for gambling for fun. I find that strange. In all of these cases, you're paying for the emotion you get from interacting with the entertainment. I believe that the pursuit of winning will not lead to anything good, so I have changed my approach to gambling.

Finding the best "game/sport" is already a sign you are taking gambling as a form of way to earn money and not as an enjoyment. I'd rather stay away from that kind of mindset and really, just enjoy what you want to play/bet on. I don't think it'd really matter much anyway, in casinos you'd still lose to the house, and in sports you'd still need to do your own research/study for each team.
I used to think gambling is for fun and everyone only gamble for fun, but in my experience... it doesn't make sense you want to gamble only to lose your money, it's similar like you donating or giving free money to someone. The reason why I gamble is to earn more money, but I don't get addicted if I lose. At the same time I also enjoyed the fight since I'm regularly betting on boxing.

As everyone said sportsbetting is skill based and has higher chance to win since it's depends on your choice, but I think why the bookies still survive until now... they're also become bigger and bigger. A bookies wouldn't survived if the majority of players won. This mean even you played skill based games, many people seems loss more than won, isn't?

.... The players usually focuses not on winning big, but most of the time the short increase of dopamine makes their money worth it ( ofc if used in moderation)

I want to focus on the dopamine part this is so true, I met a guy who is good at gambling he is contented and satisfied when he won but also when he loses, he treated both conditions good and satisfying, he is after the feeling and the satisfaction of betting not on winning or losing, for him, he is gambling for fun and for the feeling which I believe is risky if he spending a lot to get to that condition, I believe that feeling has level he will likely play more or spend more to get to another level.
Maybe he’s too rich that he feels calm about losing or not being excited when it comes to losing. It will depend on one’s situation in life or how to they make living that will give them satisfaction in what they are doing. It’s good if he don’t get frustrated or addicted when things goes wrong in his gambling. Hope many will just enjoy their game when they bet or when they play in casino rather than being frustrated. I know some people who just alot small amount to really just spend in gambling until they lose but it’s just a small amount that only played here in festival for fun.

Based on math, if you played on slots, in the end you will always lose since house had bigger chance to win due to house edge. Some casinos do have happy hour e.g. house edge is 0%, so both of you and your casino have same chance of 50/50, but the events only limited times.

Unlike sportsbetting, all the controls depend on you and there's no math the house always win. If you're lucky enough, you can won by betting on underdog team, of course the prize will be bigger due to high odds. I've always like a draw no bet features on football, so I can easily just bet either lose or win.

-snip-
They know it is hard, but they believe that they can get very lucky. Hence they keep on trying. The more they play, the more they lose, the more they think they will win. Gamblers fallacy.

In roulette type games more than 95% of the amount is usually back to the player but when we talk about lotteries it goes way below 50% which is explained by the lower levels of winners and winning as a whole despite that lottery is some of the biggest revenue collector for the government. The players usually focuses not on winning big, but most of the time the short increase of dopamine makes their money worth it ( ofc if used in moderation)
That "short increase of dopamine" can end up making them addicted to gambling. It is never worth the money. You can spend that money somewhere else and enjoy better. And I guess you are wrong here, most of the time people FOCUSES on winning big. They don't gamble for fun, they gamble for profit.

Sports betting.

Do you do it for winning?

Yes, and of course you want to have some fun and enjoy the match.

Are the ideas in the article according to you correct? How many times you usually win in a game of chance+skills?

Article has some truth in it. I haven't recorded though how many times I win or lose on skill based games. But for gamblers, I don't think they keep any statistics though, to be fair, when you ask gamblers they will not tell the truth if they are on the winning side or losing bad (most likely the former).

I disagree with the lottery part. Most people who bet on it are expecting to win big, and not just because of the short bursts of dopamine that you mentioned. They don't do it because they are satisfied and enjoyed with the feeling, but because they need the money and hoping to get it. A huge number of people that bets on lotteries are those in the poverty line, and that already tells you something. If they have the chance to not bet on winning big, most probably they won't, and just spend the money on other things that they need.

One might be aware of the fact that even though the Gambler knows that he is loosing money they measure the gambling to be an effective usage of that money, a leisure activity to begin with therefore it's more concerned with the activity-than winning an idea that some problem gamblers ignore.

What makes gambling so popular is the fun they provide.
Even if the player loses everything and regrets it in the end, he knows it was good while the money lasted, and he will pay again to have that adrenaline rush of dreaming of winning a big prize, even though he knows that it may never
happen.

I don't know if it's the best, but I bet on football games because it's the sport I'm most familiar with.
I usually win more than I lose, but the profits in this niche are very limited and I tend to turn everything I win into more betting tickets.

That's just the nature of gambling. It's really only a simple matter of wanting to be the "one" that gets lucky and wins big, enough to turn around the state of their life. Not that I'm denying there are people who gamble for fun though, I myself only do it for fun.

If you are a sports fan i would stick to that sport i usually follow and there was a time when i would spend time in dice and other games that were available and the amount of BTCitcoin i surrendered in some of the gambling sites is really huge even though i won them occasionally and through sheer luck i was able to recover my losses in some sites but in majority of the sites i am still at a huge loss when it comes to games of chances.

This actually falls on someones interest because some do really like skill based games and some do really love the thrill on pure luck ones thats why we do really see different market because it does have

different demands too thats why we do see different markets that do offer specific gambling games basing on the interest thats why it would really vary.
Whether people do play for entertainment or purely on making profits and this is a personal kind of choosing things.

It is indeed depends on the player himself. If you are into football or basketball, it means, you are a fan of this sports.
And if you are betting, definitely, you want to win your bets. You may not be too serious if you are just doing it for fun.
But if the money involved is quite big, it means, you are expecting to profit big.
The best sports should be the one that you are passionate about. Because you will know every angle of this game if you are into this sports.

What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ?
I'm enjoying two of them, basketball and esports.

Do you do it for winning?
Yes, I do it for winning. I only bet with the games that I know that I have the higher chance of winning and do YOLO betting for sometime.

Are the ideas in the article according to you correct? How many times you usually win in a game of chance+skills?
They're all correct and that's really part of the psychological effect of gambling. And if I have a win of around 60% of most of my bets then that's already an achievement and even half from all of my bets are winning, it's sure an achievement.

Once we experienced a surge of dopamine we always go back to it we want that feeling it's more like a hash to us t's an expensive kind of hash but once we experienced a surge of excitement we want to repeat that over and over again, it's expensive but it's worth it, we always want something that excites us.

Dopamine is responsible for allowing you to feel pleasure, satisfaction and motivation. When you feel good that you have achieved something, it's because you have a surge of dopamine in the brain.

... What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ?
It doesn't matter what sports to bet on so long as you understand the basic rules and the bookie is reputable.

I do not usually play casino games but selecting which one is the best depends on the RTP or the House edge the platform or the providers offer. I also prefer games that would increase my chances of winning based on skills and not just pure luck.

Quote
Do you do it for winning?
Fun is also part of it.
