Do you do it for winning?
of course winning is the most important, but when it comes gamble we should accept the fact that it's always a game of luck, wherein no one can really tell  the results afterwards.

And that's why i choose to gamble sports because even sometimes my favourite teams didn't win, at least i'm satisfied on the game and no regrets on my decisions. Lol

Try to look at it from a different perspective. You're willing to pay for music, a movie, or a game, but you don't think it makes sense to pay for gambling for fun. I find that strange. In all of these cases, you're paying for the emotion you get from interacting with the entertainment. I believe that the pursuit of winning will not lead to anything good, so I have changed my approach to gambling.

The reality is there are people who gamble to get that feeling or what OP says dopamine, it's real, people are playing to capture the feeling of excitement it's not that they are wasting money, that is why in every casino we can read in their TOS that their players should only play with money they can afford to lose and they should have fun playing

One might already understand that winning at Gambling is hard but at the end of the day we still see a lot of people increasingly interested in Gambling, this might provide an insight into the casino business and at the same time help explore the ideas 💡 in the mind of a Gambler.

I see that people had come to gambling
*because they thought that gambling makes them rich in a faster way rather than working it hard
 * because they saw huge rewards if you win

A way that casinos have taken advantage of the demand and increased the number of gamblers. In fact, gambling is now one of the growing businesses online and offline.

Most scams work the exact same way. There are lots of people who want to scam other people and get rich quick but in the end it is those people who get scammed while trying to get rich quick.

Gamblers try to get rich quick from gambling but in the end, only the house gets rich (sometimes not quickly though).

This is an amazing observation.

Most gamblers have an addiction they don't even realize they have. It seems to them that they can give up gambling very easily, but in fact it is not so since their mogul is used to receive incentives when they win.
That's because people believe that admitting they have a problem or a disease is a sign of weakness. But it isn't. In a moment of weakness, you became addicted. That's not good. But it's worse lying about it and not being willing to accept that situation and show a desire to change.

One thing that you can hear is that gambling addicts will try to tell you how they are not addicted, they are just playing because they like it and they can stop anytime. The thing is, that time never seems to come...

You are absolutely right. I've always wondered how a grown man can't admit mistakes or addictions. I can understand when a man is afraid to admit his behavior to others, but I will never understand what the problem is with admitting his mistakes to himself. As long as a man deceives himself he certainly can't solve his problems the way he would like to do it. He will always look for someone to blame on the side, not even realizing that the problem lies within himself.

I think it applies to betting in sports like boxing because it feels okay to lose but a vindication as well when your athlete won because it makes you think you can analyse the sports better. I lost countless times in boxing and MMA but find myself spending the last coins I have deposited to see the team I predict to win, will win.

But I find it hard to see it applies to lottery when it would take a lifetime for them to win. Its the hope to become rich that drives them but its channeled like its worth spending the money filling up the lottery ticket as activity worth dong.

What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ? Do you do it for winning? Are the ideas in the article according to you correct? How many times you usually win in a game of chance+skills?
The best sport for me is esports since i've spent so much time playing games even though I could watch it for free it doesn't hurt to have a bit of risk on the line. Yup, I do it for the win and at the same time, for the entertainment. I don't have a full record of my wins and losses but i'd admit that i've lost more than i'd win maybe the ratio is around 1:3 or maybe even lower since there are moments where i'd go on roll and win 2-3 days in a row then have a red streak that could go on for weeks. Sometimes I even thought of going against my predictions when I start to have that kind of bad luck.

Whatever type of gambling game you play, can make you addicted for some time without knowing it.
Say they are not after big wins, but if they can get a big win one day, they will be tempted to try playing again.
If it is about the best game or sport, it will depend on what the gambler likes and what sports skills he has to know what he should choose.
I don't count how many times I've won a game of chance + skill because I'm not after winning and just enjoying my free time.
Well, the main source is to be happy and enjoying while playing and most gamblers who experienced this would be a potential gambling addict in the future if not controlled in the first place. They may find it enjoying and amusing once they experience the feeling of winning plus every casino have their own kind of vibe that makes people get comfortable to stay that's why they stay thus get attracted to the games of casino.

This actually falls on someones interest because some do really like skill based games and some do really love the thrill on pure luck ones thats why we do really see different market because it does have

different demands too thats why we do see different markets that do offer specific gambling games basing on the interest thats why it would really vary.
Whether people do play for entertainment or purely on making profits and this is a personal kind of choosing things.

It is indeed depends on the player himself. If you are into football or basketball, it means, you are a fan of this sports.
And if you are betting, definitely, you want to win your bets. You may not be too serious if you are just doing it for fun.
But if the money involved is quite big, it means, you are expecting to profit big.
The best sports should be the one that you are passionate about. Because you will know every angle of this game if you are into this sports.
Based on real experience on which i had made out some bets on sports which i dont know about which i cant really feel out the thrill or enjoyment on doing so but if you are really that going after for profits then you would be basically be having these bets.

Its never been entertaining if you do bet on this way but there are people around i know that they do really have this kind of behavior.
We do have preference and the real essence on playing is to have fun and next is to make money but its not that a priority imho.

Gambling is too easy thats what makes it hard Cheesy  got to be considered and controlled in any strategy to have a hope of winning and coming out top.   The simple take on all the different types is I think sports gambling is one of the best value and also Poker I think is a good one to consider if you like or not.   Slots some love but I find the best detail comes from sports betting or similar.

Gambling addicts do really have that kind of common behavior on which we do always deny that we arent really that addicted but obviously we are already into that particular state.

Its true that accepting is really showing that weakness which i dont see anything wrong with that because you are the ones who had been fooling yourself to believe that you could really able to stop midway.

Regret do always come in the end and wont be showing off on the start thats why its isnt a bad thing on accepting mistakes for sometime.

Gambling is a really wide topic where not everything is yet explored especially the brain of a gambler during gambling.Although I have read a couple of interesting articles in local newspapers here where I live that tended to talk against gambling but their idea at least was on point. They said that a gambler while gambling cannot think clearly and during such session if the rage emotion gets the best out of him he completely loses the logic and will continue to play until he loses all of his available money.I find this to be the truth based on my personal experience so I believe it.

As for the best way to gamble in order to not lose a lot of money I think it is sport betting plus skill games like Texas holdem poker while games relying completely on luck like roulette and slots provide extremely high risk to becoming addicted.

What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ? Do you do it for winning?

The best gambling game is the one you enjoy the most, to play or watch others play! It can be a sport or it can be a crash or a slot, and lucky-based games can be very exciting if you like something like that!
I believe we all love to win! I am one of those who play to win, but you also need to know your possibilities and chances! I don't make drama when I lose, I just learned to handle losses, and I know what I'm risking and how much I can lose! That comes with experience!

The article is the whole book! I believe again some philosophy with a lot of generalizations, and again we are all individuals who make their own way! I never liked psychology books, too much talking about nothing!
In games of chance, we win less or more often, I guess it depends on what games we play and what odds we are chasing!

What do you think is the best game/ sports to gamble on ?

Personally, I would choose sports/e-sports gambling since it is something that I am quite familiar with. Given that I have some knowledge about the said topic, I can confidently bet on the games that I think I would win. Though there is no absolute decision in gambling, knowing which teams/players and their statistics can definitely help support me to decide on which team to bet on.

I always do it for winning- like purely for profit. Most of the time, my bets are somehow accurate with at least around a 60% success since I can access which team to bet on.

For a gambler the first feeling is that of luck before he deals. He deals and loses. He deals again but this time the feeling becomes that of revenge because he wants to get back what he has lost. He loses again. He repeats the first process of playing again and it goes on and on. Before long he becomes addicted. Nobody gambles if he knows he is going to lose. Every gambler feels he is going to be a winner once he deals. That is why gamblers are the most optimistic people. They are always believing in luck.
No one thinks that he'll lose and that is normal I guess on all gamblers, that's why it was called gambling in the first place. It's 50/50 chance as always so it's always our risk appetite that decides if we deal in it or not. It's not always our speculation that we may win in gambling that matters but some bonuses or promotions sometimes weigh in on how we deal with gambling.

I thought your source is an article. I was surprised it was a whole book. There's no way I could read it all before making a reply. Not to mention that access to the contents themselves requires one to create an account first.

Anyway, I don't think there is a single explanation which sufficiently captures the condition of any gambler. Especially now that gambling is becoming larger, I don't think all of the gamblers are victims of cognitive illusions.

I myself gamble, albeit moderately. I bet on sports. I bet on lotteries. I played poker, blackjack, and other card games. I bet on cockfighting, be it online or actual, heads or tails, and other games. But I don't think I had this illusion that the statistical rules on the probability of losing does not apply to me.

And also, I don't think winning is the only goal of a gambler all of the time, and that every time a gambler loses he/she feels down.

I still don't understand what the paradox is. What did I miss?
As for the best gambling game for entertainment, in my opinion it should be with something that physically reflects the process of gambling. For example, a roulette wheel and a ball. Watching the ball bounce from red to black and wishing it landed on the color you chose is a very emotional experience, much more fun than a "soulless" slot machine or anything like that.

Most gamblers have an addiction they don't even realize they have. It seems to them that they can give up gambling very easily, but in fact it is not so since their mogul is used to receive incentives when they win. To understand this it is enough to try to give up gambling and betting completely for a few months. I am sure that many won't even be able to last two months as they won't find a substitute for incentives without gambling.
