I couldn't agree more with those gamblers saying that they gamble just for fun because the truth is that people gamble in the hope of multiplying their money. But from what we have witnessed and seeing the sentiment of the majority, we definitely see that they feel disappointed when losing. Which is not really the behavior of gamblers who just think about entertaining themselves. A real gambler never seeks winning but pleasure and fun.
Hearing the news that some people committed suicide and crimes can also prove that my statement is right. Maybe I'm wrong, but what I've seen is enough to say that gamblers are here for money, not for fun.
I also wanted to hear opinions from others.
Unfortunately people go to far when it comes to gambling and they think they can win and can always win. They don't stop to consider that casinos make money for a reason, the games are not beatable long term.
You can sit back and toss $10000 at a slot and hit a few bonuses but most of the time you are going to break even or win a couple hundred at best. Every now and then someone gets lucky and nails a big jackpot, but it's rare.
Same goes for table games, tables have limits in most cases and players get in a hole that is hard to get out of most of the time. I think poker is about the only game that the player is in the most control.
Now you talk about suicide. Well that happens because people are basically dumb as hell sometimes and blow their rent money, empty their bank accounts, lose their kids college fund, gamble the deed to a house, or many other stupid decisions. They lose so much that they feel they have no choice but to end it. This is why you're always preached to about gambling responsibly and setting limits. If you take $100 a week to the casino to have some fun and if you lose go home. You will probably be fine, but if you take $100 then hit the ATM for another $1000 every time you go to the casino, you're fucked.
It's just better to mess around, have a few drinks, hang out with friends, and have some fun. Gambling will not result in you winning millions and changing your life. Least not for 99.9999999% of you. There is that .0000001% that it will happen for, but those are some bad odds.
