What's the success of most ICOs? Nothing. Only few ICOs are performs well these days. Some are only after exchange listing and dump on community. They forget their usecase
From 2018 to the present, I have not seen any successful ICO. Yes, there are a few ICOs that are still active, but its price has dropped too many times and it is difficult to recover. ICOs have completely failed in this market

Ieo ruined many peoples money and thats I can understand. However I do not really understand why would they go back to ICO? After all there were some very good ICO's and some decent ones but there were a million horrible ones as well, so I do not understand why that looks good to anyone, it doesn't to me. At the peak of ICO days there were tons of ones that made a profit for a while, looking at them now after the 2018 bear run they are all done or close to done as well so even the good ones dropped like crazy.

I would rather see something totally different and new, all these ICO's and STO'S and IEO's are the same, we need something totally different that goes back to roots of how the coins were first created, it should be more about development and features and less about money and marketing if you ask me, that just makes it a business and I do not want my coins to be someones business.

Forget about IEO because it's not coming back, it ruined many investors till date, if you have doubts do find time to do research on ICO projects that came out in 2017 and raised money, most of them are either abandoned or dead now

^^^ Can't put it any better than this. The 3rd point was the most important one. Once in a while, we come across good projects with good future prospects and practical usage. But in most of the cases, the team is unable to convert their plans in to reality. This is why I have been saying that the ICOs should go online only after the major part of the development is complete.

Guys, do you think that ICOs could make a come back? I do and here is why. Every year dozens of companies raise money in Silicon Valley for startups, many pre revenue. Also, with the economy injured from nCov19, it would make sense to allow for new economies. This would include letting new startups in Blockchain raise money, and imo if they are well vetted, and trusted by the community, they should be allowed to raise money. What do you think?

there are some things we need to look at:

1 - Most ICOS had Fake Team and plagiarized whitepaper

2 - Most ICOs were meaningless projects, sometimes I read the project and I got the impression that the project scammers looked at blockchain as a magic stick that had superpowers that surpass the powers of god

3 - The few ICOs who had a real team and a real white paper after months could not keep up with things they promised

why we want the ICOS again?

Projects are raising money successfully using IEO.

yes, ICOs left and IEO entered, that is, always have some way to cheat and steal people's money (I still can't understand how people's minds work)

Only if they decide to change their ways and be honest, transparent and dedicated to the course instead of taking advantage of people who trusted them and invest in their empty ideas,
Ico can still come back if we have genuine project who will use the funds to develop project, but it will be hard because people already lose hope with ico.
It's not dead yet. WTH was happening with so many people that called it's dead right now. It looks like you didn't aware of the latest ico that reached the hardcap just in a short time. You should take a look at some sites like icodrop or cryptorank to bring you the fact about the existence of ico right now.

I do not believe ICO will make a come like it was in the past. This is because a lot of people especially the investors have lost interest in putting their money in any project because of lack of trust and also due to the fact that most projects are not always succeed in reaching their target. IEO would have been setting stone for investors to comeback into funding projects but result have shown that IEO have not really encouraging. Only those that are listed on big platforms like Binance have succeeded. Conclusively, Most of the new project are not novel, they are similar to the projects that have already existed

ICO started it all and produced  a lot of good quality or even in top rank coins today in he market, but sad to say that this method has been obsolete and actually this is where scam projects had started that dreaded by investors in crypto community. IEO has been working completely fines as we barely hear any accusations of scams, we hopefully see something or better way to raise a fund in order to keep the healthy and quality projects coming in.

We dont know actually if ICO can have a come back, even though new projects are keep pouring on the market, we still cant deny the fact that most projects in the past have turned into scam and this is due to the ICO processes. In my opinion, I must say that IEO is much safer method when it comes to crowdfunding and even traders using this way to gain profits at least it lessen the burden and fear of investors that they will be scam of the new projects.

It has a less to none chance of coming back my froend. Ico's has many bad reputations then, and now we have the more effective and legit way of doing a fund raising the IEO and STO.

ICO, or IEO, or whatever its name will come back. The title will change, but the concept will still the same. You should be wary and careful to invest in that such program because we don't know if the project can be trust or not. We should search for another info to find out the truth, so we don't disappoint. Right now, many projects trying to survive, and many of them still trying to attract more investor to invest in their project, so that makes us selective to choose the right project.

I strongly agree if IO is verified legally and correctly. because after this global pandemic, the economic situation is getting worse. and the worst possibility that might occur is an economic recession and all must be restarted from the beginning. from there, some people in this world will have difficulties and I think ico is a good solution for that.

Now that scammers have taken over every corner of crypto space it will be a bad idea to hope for ICO projects again, IEO is still a step forward here because exchanges stands between investors and the project team, top exchanges already did half of research for you because they have a reputation to keep, IEO is just way better

I don't know about this. A lot of people have said that ICO will die and will be forgotten, but as for me I think they will stay but not really like being the main thing in the industry, because there are lots of scams attached to ICO in the past years and a lot of people are now afraid of participating in it (ICO). So, I am not going to say that it is coming back to what it used to be before.

As time goes on a lot of ideas are coming on how things should be done, just like we now have STO and IEO, though these ones are also not performing as expected, and it's part of the reason I said that ICOs will stay and these ones will stay too. But, as of now it seems ICOs must need more time to re-gain faith from this community. Still, when one or two projects successfully completes their projects then things may change completely.

I won't even dare trust any new type of ICO until many projects runs through the New ICO and become successful, let's be careful while hoping for new ICO, scammers can take advantage of this, it already happened in 2019 with one scam project called 'IMO'

I am not sure that ICO will return. if it returns, then the system must be better than IEO, and that doesn't make it ICO, but something new. Until now, ICO is a nest of scammers, so I am quite doubtful that ICO will return, except in special terms and circumstances.
True! Even ICO returns in special terms or circumstances. I would not risk my money again. Not only me but also a lot of people lost money in ICO. Even I did my research carefully, ICO scammers still won. I prefer to invest my time and money in bounty and trading.
Investors don't trust ICOs, which is understandable because so many scam projects. It may come back but it probably has to add a word "trust" (TICO) Grin, the development team needs to have a reputable organization that guarantees them.
It's better if you check everything before you say what you don't know about. solana has been successful with its ico, elixxir too, 2key, finnexus and many more have raised their money through ico too and the investors of solana has been getting a huge return too. It's not yet dead.

I don't think ICO will come back in these crisis times. People are very reluctant to invest at the moment. Maybe in a year after corona it will change again.

ICO is dead, no investor care more about ICO anymore since IEO did everything better, it's just a shame that ICO make crypt world lose many investors due to too many scam projects back in 2018, we should move on, even if new project plan to use ICO it can take them more than 2years to achieve softcap
