Shorting your play time in gambling is the best strategy in gambling, apart from knowing how to manage your bankroll, don't spend too much time on a casino game, the longer the time you spent the more you lose, this is the truth that many gamblers won't accept at first until they realize it later.

For them it's about your addiction, and that's what brings in more money, and I am here to announce to you that time fixation is also a good way in gambling, spending 20 minutes in casino a day is better than someone who spend 1 hour.
~
Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

This is too radical advice, maybe you have a specific gambling experience (and you think that it can be extended to everyone else), or you are far from gambling in general.
Explain to me how I can spend a maximum of 20 minutes on gambling if, for example, I prefer to place live bets on tennis (or football) matches? The game itself lasts much longer and if we are talking about tennis, you have to make a lot of bets to try to catch value, and if we are talking about football, then you can wait almost an hour for the right moment to bet.

Or, for example, let’s take the most popular (at least in all polls it is always in the top) game - Dice. Many people like to play here using autobetting and custom algorithms, the most popular case being martingale. Even taking into account the fact that now many casinos offer fast bets (when up to 10 bets are made per second), it sometimes takes much more than 20 minutes to enjoy the process and “catch” a loss. Especially if you bet on 1.1 and then multiply your bet tenfold after a loss, and multiply it tenfold again after two losses in a row.

It’s the same story with poker - what serious game can you play with so little time? Only some multi-tables, but ordinary players don’t like such fuss and chaos, but pros who live from this.

In general, your advice makes sense (don’t spend a lot of time on gambling, don’t get addicted to it), but there are many options when short gaming sessions are simply pointless and will not provide the required pleasure.

Exactly, some gamblers who are addicted go through scenarios like this where they forget the time to go home and end up being carried away and trapped in a black hole far from the exit, there is nothing but a cycle that they will continue to do indefinitely. unless you can achieve consciousness. The OP has mentioned a good suggestion for an approach to not end up addicted, and to encourage that it can actually be done is by adding warnings as you said one of which might be setting an alarm to remind you that the session is over, no matter at the end by losing or winning.

On the other hand, the first point that must always be paid attention to is awareness, they must really be able to maintain full awareness when gambling, because that will be able to minimize unwanted things, especially so that you don't get carried away by pleasant circumstances. even though it is nothing more than a trap to get you further involved, limiting time, hopes/expectations and budget in each session is really recommended for being a healthy gambler.

the real enemy when it comes to addiction is yourself and not anyone else. hence, before you reach that stage much better to observe list of possible things that you can easily do to prevent such scenario such as -
1. set your daily/weekly/monthly limit and be firm with it
2. look for alternative activities whenever your bankroll is already busted -exercise, doing some chores or unfinished projects at home
3. find other hobbies that you think can replace gambling if you are not playing
4. connect with your loved ones, family, friends, relatives or people around you. sometimes they are just waiting for you to have conversation with them. with gadgets everywhere, for sure, some people don't know anymore how to socialize
5. meditate
6. think of the things that you really want to buy if you spend all your money to your games

That's right, the other person or even the casino is never involved with the scenario you approach gambling, the wrong mindset is one of the biggest triggers why you can get into the addiction zone. Well done, you have given very good advice and warnings here by observing some things that need to be done for prevention so that we do not get carried away and enter the addiction phase. I think some of the lists you've suggested above will be very useful for those who are already addicted or especially those who are just coming into it.

Limiting the amount of daily/monthly or yearly budget is very important and try to only put the amount that you can afford, don't be careless to try to put a larger amount because it is lured by a win that seems tantalizing, it's a trap believe me. Not only that, in terms of time should also really be considered, most people can get into addiction because they are too often involved in gambling so that they are carried away unconsciously. Therefore we must have other things to do when you are really feeling lonely such as doing other activities in your real life, homework or whatever. Because the fact is that the more free time you have, the more likely you are to remember gambling, so don't let yourself have too much free time. The rest I totally agree with the idea of the statements in the list you suggested, that's great mate.

Do not go beyond your weekly budget.
I agree with this 100%. Instead of limiting your gambling time, limit your budget. If you have a limited budget and you can't go over that budget, you can't continue to gamble. That's the best way to limit yourself from gambling. With a limited budget, you can't chase your losses and that will prevent you from getting emotional. There are other bad things which a strict budget will prevent from happening.

So instead of limiting your time on gambling, limit your budget. Take it as a way of entertainment. Do not try to make it a way of making money. It's not worth it. Instead of making money, you will lose more. And in that process, you might become addicted to it. Gamble responsibly.

I do have many off days from work and even when I'm not too use to casino but anytime I want to bet, I spend much time as I like in gambling platform and I don't think it affects me like that because what I do there most of the time is making sure that I select good games and not just pick any games because the statistics say they have advantage, I can go on to do more research like previewing their last few games just to see if they have the capability and energy to do the same thing in the new match and also if they have injure players or not. This helps me not to make poor selection of games and this has help me win games often times than I lost quite few.

Quote

1. Have a amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.

2. Choose your favourite day in a week for gambling.

3. Have a time count down when gambling, to avoid spending too much time.

Go back home or close your laptop once your time is up, and wait for the coming day, go back to your daily life and business, chase your goals using your business and invest more money on assets.

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

Having a limited budget is a most in gambling, when you gamble and you don't set that limit, one day you will sell your valuable things to gamble especially when you ae trying to make back from losses that you will never make back because you are playing with pain and emotions, this is what people don't understand in gambling.

I think gambling during the weekend is the best thing any serious person will want to do because even most of the matches are been played on Saturdays and Sundays except for Champions League that are fixed on Tuesdays and I think a selection can be made on weekends and let the game play to anytime until all the selections are completed. Gambling is not that difficult to do but it seems the way we discuss it makes it scary like an activity that is dangerous in ones life.

Of course what you say makes sense, that's why often those who gamble don't care about this, sometimes a short time doesn't make them satisfied when playing gambling. To be honest, theory and practice in gambling are always contradictory.

The basic problem is that those who enter the world of gambling have various styles, that is the basis that must be understood, essentially what is the purpose of gambling, money, fun, time and so on.

Many people who gamble don't shorten the time, which is expected as the OP said, but the facts are different, many of us see them gambling without considering the time, it happens when emotions and greed peak.

Somehow I really agree with you as your points are relatable and very realistic buy then it's also true that it doesn't apply to every situation as some persons have got varrying strategy with which they gamble which helps them get more entertainment without having bro spend so much money regardless of how long they spend gambling either online or offline.

It's Also true that the more time you spend gambling have an effect on how much you tend to spend at the casino, some times you end up spending so much money because you spent some more time at the casino as saw what seemed like an opportunity to win and in the bid to utilize it , you end up spending some more buy if you have left such wouldn't have occurred giving you reasons to continually engage, sometimes you may be lucky to win and by spending more time at the casino you end up spending that which you won and probably loosing it back to the casino.

This depends on individuals just as Oshosondy said, spending much time doesn't mean you would keep wasting your money to the casino house or to the game you are playing, what matter most is to set limits or possibly do not include greed to whatever game you are playing. This is what kills people most because the more they keep playing the more they keep losing because they wanna recover their previous lost which to me is a revenged betting. Anyone who can control and fixed himself to a certain amount can still remain long in a gambling site without staking higher amount just managing with their little allocation for the week/months.

I agree with the OP. The shorter the time allocated to gambling, the better for the individual as he’s not likely to get addicted to gambling any time soon.
But sometimes there are also people who are addicted to gambling who use a very short time to gamble because they put a lot of money into their bets too quickly so it runs out quickly, whereas people who gamble for a long time usually enjoy their game more so it cannot be said that they are gamblers. that playing for a short time can prevent gambling addiction, everyone has a different point of view on this matter depending on their experience.

I also agree with the OP but in my opinion gambling is not just about managing time but setting time and setting a budget as well so that it runs in harmony when budget money is still available means and time is still so long why not enjoy the game, because gambling is also not just trying to avoid Just be addicted to gambling but make sure you can enjoy the game. that's what's important  Wink

I agree with you. Those who follow this advice are good but many do not want to follow this advice and subsequently they lose their wealth. The more a gambler gambles, the more his interest in gambling increases. At the same time spending more time in gambling will be addicted. The same situation can happen to both experienced and inexperienced. To get rid of this, gamblers should bet and exit in the short term. Although I have not specified a specific time in this case, gamblers should move away from that betting platform as soon as possible. A gambler is not addicted if he does not violate his rules. Those who are not addicted will definitely find good gambling management opportunities.

I agree with the OP. The shorter the time allocated to gambling, the better for the individual as he’s not likely to get addicted to gambling any time soon.

Asides having a specific amount set aside to gamble with whenever you visit the casino or play online with, it’s also important to regulate our time spent playing. Having spent all the amount put aside for gambling, anyone would be tempted to reach into his savings to play some more. Hence the need to regulate and be disciplined in your time and money.

Why do you think casinos don’t have wall clocks on their floor? Much better to keep their players ignorant and less aware of the time as they continue spend their monies playing.

I understand the point you are making and they are valid. However, I have another twist to it because many people have their style that suit their bankroll. For instance, before I start off any day, I already planned how much I was willing to risk and my expected target win for the day. I can continue gambling until either of them is hit, I don't see anything wrong in this approach. Stopping for the day can only happen outside these conditions when I have other things to attend to or I'm tired and needed to divert my time and attention to other things.

If you want to have fun with gambling, you can spend long time with $0.05 in every game you played.

If you want to gamble for money, you can use martingale strategy but it can be a way to lose huge amount of money. Do not go beyond your weekly budget.
I agree with you, setting weekly or daily target is a great way to guide against depressing losses. The reason many gamblers are depress is innability to know when to stop. I set daily limits and so far, it has helped me a lot.

The question is do you feel happy and fun if you gamble for short time? I'm not, so even though I lose my money through gambling, it's not a bad thing since I'm aiming to get fun from it.

The only way for someone to make money through gambling is, gamble until you make profit, withdraw it and then quit gambling completely. If you came back to play, you need to calculate your previous profit and then the money you lose or make after that.

I'd rather choose to gamble 2-3 times a week rather than just spending 20 minutes gambling.
I'm not against spending less time gambling than the usual time we do but it doesn't mean we don't give time for us to enjoy gambling and just limit it to 20 minutes. There is nothing wrong with spending 1 hour or 2 hours gambling as long as we don't do it every day, I think it is much better.
If the reason for doing this is to avoid addiction and overspending, I believe the best thing to do is to stop gambling, not this way.

1. Have an amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.
You are right, the best thing to do when gambling is to always have a limit. Whenever you exceed your limit, you should just stop gambling. Maybe you will have a specific amount that you will allocate for gambling every week or every month. Once the limit has been reached, you should wait until the following week or following month before you can continue gambling.

We agree with you because these advices will help gamblers to not turn betting into addiction and will not let big losses happen.

Seriously, I am not in support of all the advice. If you gamble within a short period of time, that does not mean you won’t be addicted to gambling, and there are some people who will gamble within a short period of time, and they will be spending a lot of money on gambling. So spending little time on gambling does not guarantee not being addicted to gambling, and it doesn’t mean you won’t be spending a lot of money on gambling.

Time limitation is easy to cross and how are the players going to get policed about that time is the next question. Automatically shut off their system from playing? Sounds more like the angry moms who scolded their kids from playing video games for more than an hour or so.

Of course less time spent means less chances of accumulated losses. If this is done religiously and the money spent is controlled as well, the gambler can develop discipline and gamble responsibly.

Still the concept should be applied on a personal basis and see if they are able to control their habit.

I don't know why I don't agree with your idea, the duration of time in gambling does not always determine the size or size of the potential loss. You can spend more time at the gambling place by placing bets on the smallest numbers. Gamblers who want to have fun at gambling places usually have a high level of awareness in managing financial management, they will play carefully so that their money doesn't run out quickly. Limiting time when gambling is different from limiting gambling time, you can limit gambling time to save costs that might otherwise be spent, but when gambling you can control your emotions so you can play longer.

When you manage to win, believe me, every gambling games you won is pure luck and you manage to win, you need to take your leave, and enjoy your win, plan to come back some time later and never increase the amount you are using to gamble all because you have won some amount, it doesn't matter because winning doesn't always happen.

Most times when I win it always take a long period of time before I win again, if I have risk all that I won it would have all been taken back from me, so do not let how much you win get control over your mind, the most profitable gambling method is using small money either you keep winning or not.

Instead of using time, I think the rounds I decide to try again is more important, and also the smaller amount you use will give you more numbers of time you can try again, especially if you are playing games like Slots, but anyway, stick with what ever works for you, the ultimate goal is to be a responsible gambler, don't fade that.

i agree that the longer gamblers waste their time on gambling the more wasteful they will be with their money. when gamblers spend more time on their games, they tend to become more impatient and lose sight of their bankroll just for the excitement in front of their eyes. and therefore shortening the time spent gambling can eliminate this potential loss and make gamblers less addicted to their games, it also makes gamblers less tired which can affect the way they make decisions in the game.

You also need to have a break in gambling as it's not healthy anymore if you keep gambling day in, day out.

As for me, since I'm into sports betting, I just need half day to gamble, and I'm not so focus with watching the odds as I love to bet on pregame odds. Sports betting doesn't require much time actually, since after you analyze it, place your bet, and wait for the result, but if you want to enjoy it more, you can watch the game live, but like I said, it does need much time.

I'd say stick with your style, as long as you are entertain and you remain discipline, keep it that way.

Depends, I even spent almost 10 hours in the casino carrying a bankroll of $30 on slots and achieved a win of over $500 today. However I also sometimes lose more quickly, so a short or long time at the casino depends on how the game situation supports you completely. It can be shorter or it can be longer especially if I'm chasing a wagger target for example which is what I'm doing so I'm quite satisfied even if I have to go back to zero.

so far so good and after hunting in casinos with an amount I was ready to lose I took a break for a few days. In essence, we just need to be clever in controlling our mentality, goals, and be ready to lose. At that time I really enjoyed 10 hours at the casino and came out satisfied. Well, being satisfied every win and loss becomes a lesson to educate your mentality in a more measured way.
