France was the upset of the night, and could possibly be the biggest for this international break, exactly my reason of avoiding the friendlies.
France was so bad, and the sad part is that it wasn't even Finland's best starting XI, just players from farmer leagues...But now it's clear, now I understand why Pogba, Ben Yedder, Nzonzi, Sissoko and the rest are subs  Lips sealed  and i'm expecting France to lose next Saturday as well, got me a ticket with Portugal to win =P

today's friendly matches will be interesting not at the level of quality of the teams (other than England the rest of the teams are weak), but because they are selections of countries involved in armed or diplomatic conflicts constantly
i'm staying away from those matches. Betting in any of those friendlies will be the same as clicking the "Donate" button in the bookies lol  Cheesy

Yeah, I couldn't agree more with your points! There's no match I'm interested in for today, I could have settled for the AFCON qualifiers but then there's no way to stream the matches, Algeria and Ghana are two teams I could have been interested in.

I am actually on few games both to score today. These are friendlies and hopefully there will not be such big emphasis on defense:
Turkey - Croatia - This one I am playing on the back of Croatian national team results, we always manage to score a goal or two and always concede at least one from some stupid set piece
Netherlands - Spain - I am afraid for this one since Netherlands had some very tight games recently but hopefully Spain will make this one pass
Belgium - Switzerland - This is for me the best game tonight. Both teams like to play football and this one could end with some real friendly result like 3:2 maybe
I watched Turkey - Croatia and it was entertaining game, ended 3:3 which was a bit more then even I expected. I believe managers will have a lot to say to their teams, defending was atrocious from both sides today.

Belgium is playing in much weaker composition than usual and I was afraid they will be the team which screws me over but Batshuayi managed to score a nice goal early in second half which is enough for me. Is this the line up just for the friendly or for the Nations league as well? They are missing most of their best players, they are not even on the bench.

I was also very entertained by the Turkey vs Croatia match which ended in a draw. Even though it's only an international friendlies match,
but both teams played serious enough to win the match. It's true that both teams have bad defenses, with this friendly match a lesson for
both teams to improve their defense in the next match.

I agree that the selection of Belgian players in the match against Switzerland is indeed weaker than usual, maybe the line up now is only for
friendly matches. Fortunately, two goals from Michy Batshuayi managed to make Belgium win the match.

Croatia has had very serious problems with its defense for a very long time, since the World Cup in Russia.
If coach Dalic does not solve this problem very quickly, I think that Croatia has no chance to repeat the excellent results from the recent past.
At the moment, I'm very worried about the poor defense, because on Saturday we will have a crucial match against Sweden.

Nations League was introduced to get rid of the friendly matches. That was UEFA's original plan. That's why they started this competition, which is just as unattractive as the friendlies. Hardly anyone knows who the last Nations League winner is and most of them did not understand the strange rules of this competition. This competition is actually doomed to fail and I hope that it will be abolished soon.
I actually like it better than friendlies. Good teams play against other good teams and not against Gibraltar (nothing against them just first team that came to my mind). I prefer seeing my team, Croatia, play against France and Portugal than in some pointless friendly.

Congested schedule is a problem but it was the same even before national league so we can't blame it for everything.

International break or nations league always gives me a different feeling about football. It doesn't seem to be interesting even with the same players on the pitch. The clubs seemed more entertaining probably due to the quality of players all scout for and bought over to play together as a team but then, the international breaks really puts me on a pause or wait and watch out for the league games to resume before you can enjoy soccer again. I really wish it didn't have to be so but, that's how it feels.

In fact it is not at all interesting compared to other competitions like Euro or World Cup in International level and of course it is even more boring compared to Champions League for example.Except strong teams like Germany,Italy,France,Netherlands,England and some others most of the teams lack the players to show good football in general and that is why Nations League is not very entertaining to watch on Tv.

My thoughts on this round of internationals is that I’m furious about them to be honest. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, these pointless games should have been cancelled. The fixture calendar is so full already, these games should have been cancelled.

Joe Gomez has broke down in training with what is being reported as a serious knee injury. Van Dijk is already out for the season & now it looks like Gomez might be. We (Liverpool FC) now only have one senior CB at the club, Joel Matip & he’s injury prone.

This Gomez injury might ruin our season & it could totally have been avoided.

Screw Southgate, screw the FA, screw international football.
I don't like this National team breaks as well, they seem especially pointless in covid infested world. However you can't deny that there is no better feeling in sports than being with your National team and supporting them to the medals in big competitions. For national teams to be able to perform on those competitions they also need to have some sort of continuity so that players get to know one another. Problem is there is simply way too much games for top players these days and powers to be need to find some way to reduce that number. Of course they never will, money rules modern world:)

I was sort of joking when LFC offloaded Lovren that you (LFC supporters) will soon be crying about that move. I bet he doesn't seem so bad at the moment.

@LFC_Bitcoin even though Liverpool is a rival team for me I yet support your stand, because I don’t like any player to be injured, and in current scenario yea they could have canceled these fixtures to lessen the burden on the player’s. @Trofo in a normal year your points would be valid there’s no doubt about that, but in a pandemic year could these fixtures have been canceled to help the player’s recover yes they could have been canceled, but I guess for financial reasons they have decided to continue staging these international games.

today's friendly matches will be interesting not at the level of quality of the teams (other than England the rest of the teams are weak), but because they are selections of countries involved in armed or diplomatic conflicts constantly ( russia, Iran, Syria, Iraq, USA, Lebanon ) . I wonder what a friendly match between:

USA - RUSSIA or IRAO - IRAQ would be like?

I am convinced that if these teams played, they would be imagining things like these:

Omg Finland against France ended 2-0 win of Finland! One of the greatest surprise of last months, and all despite that France has many worldclass players on the field!

Damn, this match was beyond my expectations and I was stuck. After losing in the first half I placed a new bet, hoping France made a comeback in the second half
And you know what happened lol  Cheesy

Poland leads already 2-0 against Ukraine, after goal of Moder, who just enter playing field few seconds before.
Remember this name, he will be european-class player!

Poland ML against Ukraine was a great bet for those back them, and It would have topped my list if I were to have placed any bet yesterday due to the Odds.

Mbappe didn’t play, and pogba was on the starting lineup. It’s enough to be a reason for France’s 1st home loss against a “non-top-50-Fifa” since 2010.

72% of ball possesiom,
24 attempts
And.... only 3 shots on target  Grin

Meanwhile finland played effectively with only 6 attempts and 3 shots on target.

I wish Portugal can easily win the match against France on sunday.

I wouldn't actually say it is opportunity to make money, more likely it is opportunity to place some bets and loose money Smiley At least for me when national teams are concerned. Everything for small stake no need to give back to the bookies all the winnings I had recently.
I wouldn't say so. International football for me is much more predictable than club football. Offcourse, you can't make much money while betting on 1.10 odds, but it's easy get profit from betting on goals over. Though, shit still happen sometimes when favorites comes to game not motivated or giving rest to key players.

Very weak and not inspiring perfromance from France. Finland achieved sensational win without their main star Pukki, he only started to play from 80th minute. Odds for Finland win was over 22!

The Netherlands vs Spain was a good match to watch. The Netherlands got some big chances at the end but Depay wasn't sharp today.

Hope somebody followed or at least considered these games. I don't remember when I had this much success with National teams. To make it even better all the games passed early and I did not even have to sweat about the result.

I know this is the topic for the UEFA Nations league, but tonight it's only exhibition games. Assume we can just post it here too? Belgium is behind against The Swiss.
I can remember that they once also led 3-0 and then lost 3-4 in the past. Or something.

I still think that Belgium and France together have the best teams in the world. Brazil used to have, but they have fallen somewhat.

What often amazes me is that you see teams like Argentina messing around, while they also have one of the best teams in the world based on individual qualities.

Must be especially frustrating for Messi, never achieve anything with his country.

Maybe my previous message wasn't very useful. In which I referred that France is the best countries in the world with Belgium.

Now at home with 2-0 behind against Finland.

Krzysztof Piatek scored in second game in a row, (for Poland) after big mistake of Ukrainian goalkeeper and good behavior of Zielinski.
Despite goal Ukraine plays a little better but game is rather slow so I hope second half will be more interesting
